Xi Yi quickly finished washing the pile of red fruits, rinsing the large leaves used to wrap them as well, then placed the fruits back onto the leaves.
Once Xi Yi was done, Sha Yi followed him back to the spot where the round leaves had been laid out.
After setting down the fruits, Xi Yi didn’t speak to her. Instead, he hurriedly slipped back out through the gap in the vines. Sha Yi didn’t know where he was going, but she figured he would return eventually, so she didn’t ask. However, she needed to find something like rope—preferably something elastic.
Spreading her short skirt on the round leaves, Sha Yi cautiously followed the winding vines, though she was still somewhat afraid of encountering something strange.
Since Xi Yi had approved of this place, it was probably free of any dangerous large creatures. Still, Sha Yi remained wary of other potential creatures, so she stayed alert the entire way.
As it turned out, her worries were unfounded. This secluded little path was truly unique. After circling around and poking at the vines, she encountered nothing unusual—aside from tiny glowing night insects hovering in the air, the place was filled with nothing but plants. There really was nothing to worry about.
Finally, at a spot where the vines tangled and overlapped, she found a few pale yellow, tender vines. Though their texture was slightly rough, they were relatively soft and surprisingly elastic.
Sha Yi was quite pleased. These vines were far better than ordinary ones—they wouldn’t scratch her skin and had excellent elasticity. Tied over the “bandage,” they would surely provide much better stability!
With that thought, she turned back toward the round leaves.
Xi Yi had returned at some point. From a distance, she could see him moving around. The moonlight was dim, so she couldn’t make out what he was doing until she got closer—he was setting up a structure like the one used to hold a pot over a fire. Now, he had hung her short skirt on it, and on the ground lay a thin animal hide.
Sometimes, she truly admired Xi Yi. No matter where they went, he was always prepared. Now, he had even readied a “blanket” for sleeping. It seemed he intended for them to spend the night here. Clearly, ancient people had no shortage of romantic instincts compared to modern folks. Sha Yi chuckled to herself.
On the other side, Xi Yi noticed her return and pulled her down to sit beside him, grabbing a few fruits from the leaf bundle and handing them to her.
Truthfully, she was already quite full after dinner and wasn’t particularly hungry, but Xi Yi’s intense gaze made it hard to refuse. She accepted the fruits, relieved that there weren’t too many to finish.
As Sha Yi began eating, Xi Yi watched for a moment before growing restless and leaning in. Thinking he wanted a fruit, she offered him one, but he pushed it aside and swiftly wrapped his arms around her waist before she could react.
Belatedly, Sha Yi realized his attention was entirely focused on her undergarments—both the top and bottom. Not only that, he even tried to pull them off! If not for her quick reflexes, he might have succeeded.
Xi Yi probably couldn’t understand why she wore so many extra layers, with such strange materials, which was why he was so eager to remove them.
However, compared to her undergarments, Sha Yi felt he was more accepting of her short skirt. At least when she wore it, he hadn’t shown such compulsive behavior. But once the skirt was off, he couldn’t resist touching her. After failing to pull off her undergarments earlier, he now took advantage of her distraction to place his hand on her chest and press down.
Sha Yi was stunned. Even through the padding, she could feel the heat radiating from his large palm. Her face flushed red, and a bite of fruit lodged in her throat, stuck halfway.
Xi Yi, noticing her sudden stillness, grew puzzled. But the softness in his grasp made him squeeze lightly twice more. This time, Sha Yi couldn’t take it—she choked on the fruit, coughing violently.
Startled, Xi Yi frantically patted her back to help her breathe, but in his haste, he accidentally unhooked the clasp at her back. The next second, her undergarment snapped open…
Sha Yi nearly cried, scrambling to cover herself, but she was too slow. Xi Yi pinned her down onto the round leaves. She tried to push him away but couldn’t overpower him. Struggling would only expose her further, so she had no choice but to stop resisting and let him hold her down.
When everything settled, she saw his Adam’s apple bob heavily, and her heartbeat grew even more frantic.
At this point, should she accept him wholeheartedly or fight with all her might to push him away?
Truthfully, Sha Yi didn’t dislike him, nor was she entirely unwilling. But the situation had escalated too suddenly—she wasn’t fully prepared. Being pinned down so abruptly made her instinctively tense and resistant.
Xi Yi, on the other hand, seemed completely unable to restrain himself. Driven by instinct, he pressed his lips to her neck. What he would do next was likely far more deliberate than her own thoughts.
Sha Yi felt her heart pounding like a drum… After a long hesitation, she finally lowered the arm blocking Xi Yi’s chest and slowly wrapped it around his waist.
Sensing the shift in her emotions, Xi Yi grew even more excited, his kisses growing fiercer.
Unfortunately, their moment of abandon lasted only briefly—before they could proceed further, a rustling sound interrupted them.
