Chapter 806: Harbor

The distance continued to close.

“Luofeng, don’t take reckless risks, don’t let your mind be clouded by greed for treasures,” Bábàtǎ urgently transmitted in a hushed tone. “This is an extraterrestrial battlefield. Although you might obtain treasures by taking risks, whether facing this squad or the Machine Race enemies, your scanner is inferior to theirs—you’re at a disadvantage! If you take such a risk… you might die.”

Luofeng clearly sensed the approaching presence.

56,390,000 kilometers… 50,000,000 kilometers…

The closer it came, the stronger the pull he felt. Were it not for his strong willpower, his body’s instinctive impulses alone might have driven him into a frenzy, charging forward to seize the treasure.

“Go!” Luofeng clenched his teeth and transmitted orders. “Leave immediately, head to the shuttle point.”

“Yes!” Bábàtǎ replied excitedly.

Whoosh!

The previously stationary spaceship suddenly accelerated and soon soared through the outer space of Yanji Continent at sub-light speed.

This startled the black-armored youth chasing them from behind.

“Your Highness, the target has taken off, reaching sub-light speed. Moreover, its course completely bypasses us. If we pursue, since our speed is comparable, we can only gradually close the distance by adjusting angles. It might take a very long time to catch up—assuming the target doesn’t realize we’re chasing,” one of his servants reported.

The black-armored youth shook his head. “Let this human get lucky. Abandon this target. Yanji Continent is full of powerful alien warriors.”

“Yes.”

The sword-shaped spaceship began to decelerate, turn, and resumed its original course.

Thus…

The distance between the two spaceships gradually increased.

Inside the control room, Luofeng sat holding the Blood Shadow Battle Blade, gently stroking it as he murmured, “Patience is essential for great undertakings; haste leads to failure. I must stay calm… My scanner is inferior to theirs, my strongest combat form is unavailable, and I know nothing about them except that their use of such an advanced scanner indicates a formidable opponent with a notable background.”

“Fighting them now, I might not even stand a chance…”

“And it could bring disaster upon myself.”

Luofeng shook his head.

“Endure.”

“Anyway, he has already arrived at Yanji Continent. Judging from his direction, he’s clearly heading deep into Yanji Continent for exploration. Maintaining sub-light speed from this position to the ‘shuttle point’ will take more than three months… while returning to the barracks base and back will take less than four months.”

“Unless he’s foolish enough to come to Yanji Continent and immediately leave.”

“Otherwise… upon my return from the barracks base, I’ll still be able to find him.” Luofeng resolved.

Everyone who came to Yanji Continent, unless they perished, would typically stay for hundreds of years at minimum, or even thousands.

The opponent’s spaceship had just arrived at Yanji Continent after a difficult journey, and judging from its current course, it was clearly heading deep into the continent… Yanji Continent was vast and boundless. Once deeply inside, even completing a single loop flight around it would take years.

“I could sense him even from a great distance.”

“When I return, I’ll still be able to clearly sense his location.”

“Alright, back to the barracks base.”

Though reluctant, he could only endure. Everything would wait until his return from the barracks base.

Flying continuously from Yanji Continent to the shuttle point, then traversing through the dark universe, and finally returning to the original universe, heading toward Barracks Base 026.

It took more than three months.

“Barracks Base.”

The saucer-shaped spaceship resembled a mere grain of sand, while the barracks base towered like a massive planet.

Luofeng gazed at the barracks base from afar.

With a diameter of millions of kilometers—far larger than the sun—this menacing war machine was a peak ‘AAA Divine Base,’ its colorful energy shield shimmering with elegant energy cycles. Each seemingly ancient and outdated cannon mouth, adorned with complex and mysterious law inscriptions, sent chills down Luofeng’s spine.

A war machine of artistic brilliance!

“Beep!”

“Soldier Luofeng, from this moment onward, your spaceship will be controlled by the barracks base. Resistance is prohibited. If you resist, the base will attack you, and you will bear the consequences.”

As the spaceship approached the divine base, control was forcibly taken away.

Whoosh!

The spaceship was guided through one of the base’s entry channels, flying along a ring corridor for a long while before finally entering a grand hall.

Luofeng had returned home.

“Welcome, soldier,” a human attendant in a silver uniform greeted Luofeng with a smile as he stepped out of the cabin. “Are you choosing to retire, or to rest within the base?”

“Rest.” Luofeng waved his hand, storing the spaceship within his world ring.

“Please follow me,” the attendant smiled.

Luofeng followed.

As they flew, the attendant explained, “As a free soldier, you are not bound by the military system’s assignments. You can choose freely when to fight and when to rest. You may choose to command troops or not. However… it’s rare for someone to explore the extraterrestrial battlefield alone.”

“I don’t like crowds,” Luofeng glanced at him.

The attendant smiled gently, and both transformed into streaks of light, flying swiftly until reaching a region tens of thousands of kilometers away.

“The entertainment district is at the end of the left corridor—restaurants, gatherings, and other recreational facilities are all there. Directly ahead are the residences for free soldiers like you. Free soldiers enjoy much better treatment than regular soldiers,” the attendant smiled. “Your randomly assigned residence should have already sent you a number. Just follow the number to check in. As for entertainment, you may go left. If you wish to go out to battle, just retrace your way in.”

Luofeng nodded.

“That’s all then,” the attendant politely excused himself and departed.

Luofeng gazed ahead.

“Truly impressive,” Luofeng praised.

Over a range of tens of thousands of kilometers ahead, there were mountains, rivers, forests, snow-covered peaks, and deserts. This was the top-tier residence within the barracks base, akin to living on a planet for a vacation. For a barracks base with a diameter of millions of kilometers, creating such a space was effortless.

Luofeng’s residence was an island in the center of a lake.

“Soldier Luofeng, this island is your private island. During your stay, no one else is allowed to enter.”

This beautiful island had become Luofeng’s private domain.

Walking barefoot on the soft sandy beach, Luofeng was quite satisfied.

“Hey,” a voice called from afar.

Luofeng turned his head and saw, on a distant island, an immortal human warrior wearing a loose robe, his entire body covered in green fur, standing barefoot on the sand. Though the distance was great, both could see the sand grains around each other. The green-furred human smiled and said, “My name is Kutuo. Welcome to become my neighbor.”

“My name is Yang,” Luofeng also smiled.

“Yang, are you a peak Marquis or a King-level warrior?” the distant Kutuo asked with a grin.

“Huh?” Luofeng was puzzled. “Why are you asking this?”

“Haha… This free territory is for free soldiers to reside in, but the accommodations vary. Some are ordinary land-based residences, while others are slightly better—spacious and comfortable villas. However, those who can exclusively occupy an island or a mountain peak reside in the top-tier accommodations, usually reserved for warriors with extremely high military merits—typically King-level warriors… But judging from your aura, you seem like a peak Marquis.”

Luofeng couldn’t help but smile.

Indeed.

His accumulated military merits mainly came from his Golden-Horned Beast clone, making him highly efficient in earning merits. The assigned residence was indeed of the caliber reserved for King-level warriors. However, with his Earthling body fused with the Shi Wu Feathers, the aura he emitted under control was only comparable to that of a peak Marquis.

“I could be considered a King-level warrior, roughly,” Luofeng replied. “But I haven’t received a title yet.”

“Haha… It seems you’ve improved during your time on the extraterrestrial battlefield. I am Kutuo, with the title ‘Homing King.'” The green-furred man on the distant island laughed.

“Pleased to meet you. I have something to attend to now. Let’s have a drink together at the restaurant later,” Luofeng smiled.

“Great,” the green-furred man laughed.

This was how warriors were—when making connections, they usually associated with those of equal strength. Within the barracks base, arrangements naturally granted stronger warriors special treatment.

Luofeng then entered his residence.

It was an enchanting realm. The isle spanned approximately 1.2 square kilometers, upon which stood ancient timbered structures of one or two stories. Encircling these timeworn edifices were age-old carvings and several crystalline pools of deepest azure, each shaped in wondrous and peculiar forms.

“A great place for a vacation,” Luofeng retracted his armor into his body, wearing only shorts, and directly jumped into the warm swimming pool.

Lying in the pool, he felt very comfortable.

“It’s time to study the spoils of war.”

Within the world of the world ring.

Mosha Luofeng, dressed in black, stood before the tall, cracked pyramid-shaped spaceship.

“That Machine Race warrior was so wealthy, yet this spaceship must have been his lifeline, or else he wouldn’t have placed a bounty on my head for its destruction.” Black-robed Luofeng followed the crack and directly entered the pyramid spaceship’s corridor, then began carefully inspecting each cabin along the spiral corridor.

“Baron,” the black-robed Luofeng called out, waving his hand, and a series of robots appeared out of thin air along the corridor.

“You organize the study of this spaceship,” the black-robed Luofeng ordered.

“Don’t worry, leave it to me.”

One of the robots responded, and the countless mechanical units immediately dispersed, scattering in all directions.

As for the black-robed Luofeng… he now stood before a diminutive G-class mechanical puppet—the only one of its kind aboard the entire pyramid-shaped starship.

However, during the earlier assault by the million-strong Insect King legions, though the puppet’s outer shell remained largely intact, its internal energy core had been utterly shattered.

After all, even the mighty Golden-Horned Beast would have been obliterated by such an impact—let alone a mere mechanical construct.

“This G-class mechanical puppet, just its metal body alone is worth a considerable sum,” the black-robed Luofeng muttered.

Then, with a sweep of world force, he scanned the puppet’s body and soon discovered a world ring upon it.

“It should be the ring containing the mechanical puppet army.”
