Chapter 678: Shopping Spree

Luo Feng nodded slightly and turned to Dylan beside him, “Dylan, you can stay here for some quiet cultivation for a while.”

“Your Highness should be careful going alone,” Dylan reminded.

For over two hundred years, Dylan had been closely following Luo Feng, rarely letting him out of his sight.

“Haha, careful of what?” King Longjue laughed heartily. “This is the Wulong Star Region, a truly vital stronghold. How could there be any danger here? Besides, there are many powerful experts stationed here. The moment anything happens, the alarm system will detect it instantly. Beings at the Cosmic Sovereign level can arrive at any location within the Wulong Star Region in an instant.”

“Dylan, did you hear that?” Luo Feng smiled as he looked at Dylan.

“Alright then, I’ll go in first,” Luo Feng said to Longjue.

“Haha, go ahead. But don’t forget to explore the garbage mountains a bit. You might just strike gold. Did you know, over 3000 epochs ago, one of our members casually stumbled upon an ancient treasure fragment while scavenging. He sold it for over 100 million Chaos Units and became instantly wealthy!” King Longjue sighed. “Although we are very careful when sorting through the debris, the quantity is just too immense. Even the robots occasionally make mistakes. Sometimes people do uncover treasures.”

“How many of those treasures are worth over 100 million Chaos Units?” Luo Feng countered.

“In the past ten thousand epochs, only two,” King Longjue replied.

Luo Feng shook his head.

The Nine Garbage Star Regions attract many high-ranking individuals from across the human territories, who then send their Domain Lords inside to purchase goods. The daily transaction volume is extremely high. For each transaction, they receive World Rings of varying sizes, allowing them to go treasure hunting in the garbage mountains.

Yet, in the past hundred million years, only two individuals have ever found treasures of immense value—clearly, the odds are extremely low.

“Treasure hunting is just a bonus we offer in the Wulong Star Region. Don’t expect to find much unless you’re extremely lucky,” King Longjue teased.

Luo Feng smiled.

Then, after bidding farewell to King Longjue and Dylan, he turned to the two white-robed men and said, “Masters, let’s depart.”

The two white-robed men respectfully replied, “Yes, Lord Luo Feng.”

One of them gestured, and a disc-shaped spacecraft, 80 meters in diameter, appeared in midair. He said respectfully, “Lord Luo Feng, internal regulation ships are required for travel within the Wulong Star Region. Unauthorized ships entering randomly will be attacked. Please board.”

“Understood,” Luo Feng and the two white-robed men flew into the ship.

Then, the ship rapidly accelerated to light speed and vanished into the distant stars.

King Longjue and Dylan watched the ship disappear into the distance.

“Dylan, how long do you think Luo Feng will take to return?” King Longjue chuckled.

“Ten days to half a month,” Dylan replied.

“I bet at least half a year,” King Longjue laughed heartily, then, along with the group that had come to greet him, traversed tens of thousands of kilometers across space and flew into the distant palace.

The regulation disc-ship flew briefly within the Dark Universe before returning to the Original Universe.

“Lord Luo Feng, although we only flew for a short time in the Dark Universe, if we flew slowly within the Wulong Star Region all the way to the Domain Lord-level Zerg corpse zones, it would take at least a hundred years,” one of the white-robed attendants explained as the silvery-white disc-ship halted in space, opened its hatch, and Luo Feng and the two attendants flew out.

“I understand. One light-year in the Original Universe equals just over three light-seconds in the Dark Universe,” Luo Feng said, though his eyes were scanning the surroundings.

Heaven!

Within a radius of dozens of light-seconds, the space was empty. Beyond that, there was an endless sea of Zerg corpses.

“All Zerg corpse purchases start from here,” the slightly taller white-robed attendant smiled. “Your Highness, please provide the identification numbers of the metal tags.”

“Whoosh!”

Luo Feng flipped his palm, and 200 metal tags appeared, startling the two white-robed attendants.

They quickly examined the tags: “B2461—95453—13402—96289—71859,” “B2446—56453—13202—96226—43193″… The numbers were complex and numerous. After reviewing them, the two attendants looked down at the smart optical computers on their wrists, rapidly cross-referencing the data. Soon, they raised their heads respectfully toward Luo Feng.

“Lord Luo Feng, the 200 metal tags represent 200 Zerg corpse units. They are not far from each other, but there is still some distance between each. Calculating the total route, if we fly directly, carrying you, at 100,000 kilometers per second, it will take us about thirteen days to visit them all,” the slightly taller attendant smiled. “This distance is considered quite short.”

Luo Feng muttered inwardly.

Considering the Wulong Star Region’s diameter of millions of light-years, needing only a dozen days to inspect all the goods was indeed very close.

“Let’s go,” Luo Feng commanded.

“Yes.”

The two white-robed guides simultaneously released their World Power, enveloping Luo Feng, and then transformed into streaks of light, rapidly flying forward. Domain Lords at their peak could easily maintain sub-light-speed flight, while Immortal Beings could reach light speed and travel between the Dark Universe and Original Universe with their physical bodies.

“So many,” Luo Feng looked around.

The entire starry expanse was filled with countless goods, densely packed, with only narrow tunnels running through them. The three of them were flying along one of these tunnels, hundreds of kilometers wide.

“An endless sea of Zerg corpses, almost all of them fragmented,” as Luo Feng flew swiftly through the tunnel, his mind-force scanned nearby Zerg warrior corpses. “This one is a peak Domain Lord-level corpse. As King Longjue said, the Zerg corpses here are of various kinds—top-tier and lower-tier. Their prices indeed vary.”

After flying for eight full days, the three finally arrived at the peak Domain Lord-level Zerg corpse zone.

At one of the observation points in the Wulong Star Region.

A thin man with black scales covering his head sat silently on his bed, gazing at the projection screen in front of him. The screen displayed a detailed surveillance map of the entire Wulong Star Region. The entire star region was under constant monitoring, with countless glowing points scattered across the map.

Anyone within the Wulong Star Region’s storage zones could not escape surveillance.

“Zoom in on Area B24.”

The thin man’s emerald-green eyes studied the screen carefully as he ordered the smart optical computer, “Lock onto those three figures.”

Beep!

On the surveillance map of Area B24, three moving points were visible. Two were white, and one was red.

“Purchasing Zerg corpses?”

“No.3, Luo Feng?”

The thin man’s emerald-green eyes silently fixed on the surveillance map. As an observer within the Wulong Star Region, each observer could view the surveillance map. If any point in the entire star region’s monitoring system malfunctioned, these observers would immediately detect it and go to repair or reinstall the equipment.

After all…

Monitoring a star region millions of light-years in diameter was an extremely difficult task. With so much monitoring equipment, malfunctions were inevitable.

“No.3 has already entered the Zerg corpse zone for two days. It’s time to move out!”

Whoosh!

The thin man stood up directly, and the screen projected by the smart optical computer vanished.

“Whoosh!” The alloy door opened, and the thin man walked out.

“Korsel,” a burly ape-like humanoid in the corridor laughed, “What, are you going out?”

“I’m bored. I still have three treasure-hunting opportunities left. I’m going to try my luck. Hey, want to come?” the thin man smiled. The ape-like humanoid looked envious but shook his head, “I used up all my treasure-hunting opportunities as soon as they were issued. I envy you for still having three left.”

“Haha… Then I’ll be off. Wish me luck in finding treasures,” the thin man laughed as he walked out.

“You can dream,” the ape-like humanoid shook his head.

Boom~~~

At the outermost edge of the asteroid belt, seemingly ordinary rocks parted, and the thin man glanced around with his emerald-green eyes before summoning a silvery-white disc-ship out of thin air. He boarded the ship and rapidly accelerated, vanishing into space.

Moments later.

Ripples spread across the palace floating in space, and a silvery-white disc-ship appeared.

After dismissing the ship, the thin man, Code 6, flew directly toward a side hall at the edge of the palace. His arrival did not attract any resistance from the guards.

“Korsel, why are you here?”

“Just bored. I’m going to try my luck at those garbage mountains,” Code 6 casually exchanged greetings with the familiar guards before entering the side hall.

Inside the side hall.

Many personnel were already seated.

“I’m here to collect a World Ring. I still have three treasure-hunting opportunities left,” Code 6 casually sat on a chair and said to the white-robed man in front of him. “I’ve already submitted my request in the Virtual Universe.”

“Ah, Korsel, hold on a moment,” the white-robed man split off a bit of his consciousness into the Virtual Universe to process the request.

“There you go. This is a small World Ring. Remember, after your treasure-hunting, you must return the ring. Any treasures you find, you can store in your own inner world,” the white-robed man said.

“Don’t worry, you’re so talkative. Do you think I don’t know?” Korsel laughed.

“Then good luck,” the white-robed man tossed the black World Ring to Korsel, who caught it with a smile and then leisurely walked out. Halfway through, he turned back.

“I remember that the treasure-hunting period is up to one year, right?”

“That’s right, one year,” the white-robed man replied without much enthusiasm.

“Haha, that’s going to be a relaxing year,” Korsel smirked, his eyebrows lifting in satisfaction.

Treasure-hunting had become a tradition in the Wulong Star Region and the other Eight Garbage Star Regions. Throughout history, there had indeed been some lucky individuals who stumbled upon treasures of unimaginable value. After all, some garbage mountains in the Garbage Star Regions had been stored for countless eons. Who knows what treasures might have been overlooked?

Therefore!

Due to the strong requests from the lower-level personnel within the Nine Garbage Star Regions, and the upper echelons’ belief that the garbage mountains were essentially a matter of luck—true treasures being extremely rare—and considering the monotony of the lower-level staff’s duties, the higher-ups eventually agreed. Thus, a benefit was established—each internal member was granted one treasure-hunting opportunity every ten thousand years, using a ‘small World Ring’.
