Chapter 277: Arrival at Yanlong Star

Suddenly having to leave home for a month indeed drew inquiries from his wife and parents, causing Luo Feng a great deal of headache. Worried about making his family anxious, he could only lie and say he needed to go into seclusion at a secret location.

The next morning.

Luo Feng had breakfast with his family. After finishing this meal, he would leave Earth, leave the Milky Way, and head toward a distant planet—Yanlong Star.

“Brother!” Luo Hua walked in through the door, “I just heard you’re leaving for a month? You didn’t even tell me! If it wasn’t from our parents, I wouldn’t have known at all.”

“I was going to tell you before I left,” Luo Feng said, sipping his porridge.

What a hassle!

As for his younger brother and his two senior brothers, Hong and Thunder God, Luo Feng actually hadn’t planned to inform them directly. After all… explaining would be really troublesome. At his current speed, circling Earth wouldn’t even take a day. Why would he need to be away for a whole month?

Saying he was going into seclusion to cultivate could fool his family, but fooling Hong and Thunder God would be much harder.

“Xiaohai, Pingping.” Luo Feng hugged his two children.

“Daddy, kiss!” the older son, Luo Ping, stretched his little face forward and kissed Luo Feng. Beside him, Xiaohai also quickly stretched out his little face and puckered his lips.

However, his wife Xu Xin, his parents, and his younger brother all had a hint of worry.

“Don’t worry. There’s nowhere in the world now that can threaten me. It’s just that this retreat is very important. I cannot be disturbed by anyone, and the environment has very strict requirements. So I must go out for this trip,” Luo Feng comforted his family. “Xin, while I’m away, take good care of my parents. If Hong and Thunder God call, just tell them I’m in retreat and must not be disturbed.”

“Okay,” Xu Xin nodded.

“Then I’m off.”

Luo Feng placed the two children on the ground, smiling as he walked outside.

The entire family, including the two kids, walked into the courtyard.

“Bye-bye, Daddy!”

The two children called out cheerfully.

“Goodbye,” Luo Feng smiled and waved, slowly rising into the air.

His family looked up at Luo Feng ascending until he disappeared from sight.

High in the sky.

A massive black disc-shaped spacecraft appeared. The outer hatch opened, and Luo Feng quickly flew inside before the hatch closed again.

Then the ship swiftly pierced the sky and flew into outer space.

Inside the control room of the Black Dragon spaceship.

Dressed in a blood-red combat suit, Luo Feng stood in front of the control panel screen. The screen displayed the small face of the demon Babata, who grinned smugly, revealing his fangs: “Luo Feng, the spaceship has already left Earth.”

“External view, 100% simulation.” Luo Feng said.

Whoosh!

Everything in the control room around him vanished from sight. Luckily, he could still feel the ground beneath his feet. The human eye could no longer perceive anything.

Looking around…

An endless, vast starry sky. Turning around, he saw the giant blue planet—Earth!

“Barbara, this is the first time I’ve left Earth to visit another living planet. I just can’t seem to calm my heart,” Luo Feng couldn’t help but say.

“It’s just like when you took the college entrance exam—it’s called nervousness!” On the screen, Barbara bit into an apple and grinned, “Not strange at all. In your terms, it’s like ‘Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden’ or ‘a country bumpkin’s first time in the city.’ It’s the same principle! You’re going from Earth to Yanlong Star, a powerful and prosperous planet, of course you’re nervous!”

Luo Feng nodded slightly.

Actually, the main reason was… according to Barbara, a place like Yanlong Star was said to be a hundred times more prosperous and powerful than the capital city of the Silver-Blue Empire, an early cosmic civilization that ruled eight star systems. Luo Feng had never even been to the Silver-Blue Empire, and now he was heading straight to Yanlong Star. How could he not feel nervous?

Fortunately, as a mentalist with a strong consciousness, he quickly adjusted his emotions.

“Barbara, hasn’t the spaceship reached light speed yet?” Luo Feng couldn’t help but ask.

“If it were the Yimo Star ship, of course it would reach light speed quickly. But this is only a C5-class ship.” On the screen, Barbara shook his head in disdain before grinning, “Of course, this C5-class ship is considered quite high-end in the Black Dragon Mountain Empire. Some cosmic-level experts only ride ships like this.”

“The acceleration of the Black Dragon Ship is pretty good. If it were one of those mass-produced ships from the space fleet, the acceleration would be really slow!”

“And some low-end junk ships generate such massive acceleration when they speed up that passengers have to enter the ‘safety cabin,’ or they might die.” Barbara explained.

Luo Feng suddenly realized.

Right, acceleration!

Accelerating to light speed, even if the speed increases by 500 kilometers per second in one second, that’s 50,000 times Earth’s gravity! Yet, inside the spaceship, he felt nothing at all.

“This is the benefit of a high-end spaceship. This ship has an automatic gravity adjustment system. It can automatically regulate and maintain the internal gravity at a fixed level. The gravity inside the ship now is one Earth gravity.” Barbara said.

“Right.”

Luo Feng realized, he had been walking inside the ship just as he did on Earth, with no difference in gravity. He hadn’t noticed until Barbara mentioned it. Now that Barbara had said it, Luo Feng realized… maintaining Earth’s gravity in space was, in itself, something worth noting.

“Haha, I’ve been on Earth too long, got used to this gravity, didn’t even notice,” Luo Feng laughed.

“There are twelve seconds until we reach light speed!” Barbara shouted.

“10!”

“9!”

On the screen, Barbara’s little face was very serious, counting down.

“8!”

“7!”

Luo Feng looked outside and could no longer see the planets clearly with the naked eye. The surrounding starry sky had become completely blurred, gradually turning dark.

“Strange,” Luo Feng held his breath.

“3…2…1!” Barbara shouted.

In the vast starry sky, a black spaceship that had already become blurred suddenly—

The space around it rippled slightly.

The spaceship vanished!

It wasn’t just a disappearance due to reaching light speed, beyond the range of human vision, but a true disappearance from this universe!

Boom!

Luo Feng felt a slight tremor in the ship, lasting about ten seconds. Everything around was completely dark, and then it stabilized.

“Successful cosmic transition, now entering the ‘Dark Universe.'” Barbara shouted on the screen, “Shut down the external view simulation.”

“Dark Universe?” Luo Feng was very curious, “Barbara, what’s the Dark Universe like?”

“Now the spaceship is flying at light speed, unable to capture the external view,” Barbara explained. “We need to decelerate to capture it, but accelerating and decelerating consumes a lot of energy. Luo Feng, I’ll simulate some scenes of the Dark Universe for you to see.”

A screen suddenly appeared before Luo Feng’s eyes.

The screen displayed some magnificent scenes. This was a vast space filled only with glowing points like fireflies—this was a sea of ‘light points,’ beautiful and radiant. Except for these beautiful glowing points, there was nothing else in this vast space. Oh… except for the spaceship!

“The Dark Universe corresponds to the coordinates of our ‘Original Universe.'”

“But, if we travel a certain distance in the Dark Universe, say ’30 light-seconds,’ and then return to the Original Universe, you’ll find that you’ve moved forward ‘10.081 million times 30 light-seconds.'” Barbara explained. “The ratio between the Dark Universe and the Original Universe is 1:10.081 million.”

Luo Feng was secretly astonished.

Flying at light speed in the Dark Universe for a year would only cover one light-year. But after a cosmic transition, returning to the Original Universe, you’d be 10.08 million light-years away.

“In the Original Universe, matter cannot exceed the speed of light. Once reaching light speed, you will directly transition into the Dark Universe. In the Dark Universe, however, you can surpass the speed of light.” Barbara explained. “Now the spaceship is gradually accelerating. The maximum speed of this Black Dragon Ship is 1.5 times the speed of light, but considering energy conservation, 1.2 times light speed is just right.” Barbara said.

“It is estimated to take nearly ten days to reach Yanlong Star. Luo Feng, during this time, you can rest well or cultivate.”

The days of flying in the Dark Universe were very dull and monotonous.

Nine days later.

“Luo Feng, we’ll be transitioning back to the Original Universe and arriving at Yanlong Star in twenty minutes.” Barbara said.

“Oh, Barbara, transitioning from the Original Universe to the Dark Universe requires reaching light speed. What about returning? How do you transition back from the Dark Universe to the Original Universe?” Luo Feng was somewhat curious. The vast universe was so mysterious. How could Earthlings ever imagine what would happen when reaching light speed?

As for the so-called theory that reaching light speed would cause time to reverse, Luo Feng had never agreed with it.

A distant planet, a million light-years from Earth, might be seen as it was a million years ago. According to some people’s reasoning, flying toward this planet faster than light speed… you could see the planet as if time were flowing backward, seeing the planet’s past scenes.

But in Luo Feng’s opinion…

That’s ridiculous!

The so-called ‘time reversal’ of that planet is only what the human eye sees. In reality, that planet is continuously aging!

“It’s simple, just decelerate to a complete stop, and you’ll automatically transition back to the Original Universe.” Barbara said.

“Oh?” Luo Feng was very surprised.

The spaceship gradually decelerated, from 1.2 times light speed all the way down to—complete stillness!

Luo Feng felt a slight tremor beneath his feet, lasting about ten seconds, before everything calmed down.

“Successful cosmic transition, back to the Original Universe.” Barbara announced.

“External view virtual, 100%.” Luo Feng quickly said.

Whoosh!

Luo Feng immediately saw the vast starry sky around him. Most notably… he spotted a distant planet glowing with colorful lights. Around this planet, there were vaguely two satellites.

“That planet is Yanlong Star.” Barbara said. “Luo Feng, once you enter Yanlong Star, follow our plan.”

“Barbara, you said entering the planet also costs money. But I don’t have any currency,” Luo Feng quickly said.

No matter how rich he was on Earth, the Silver-Blue Empire and the Black Dragon Mountain Empire would never recognize Earth’s currency. Here, it was just useless ‘printed pictures.’

“You don’t have any? I do!” Barbara shouted. “But the master’s bank card is useless to you—it’s bound to his mental imprint. However, the master did leave behind some coins. These were the coins the master carried on his person. Sometimes, even loose change can be useful.”

“Coins?” Luo Feng was taken aback.

“Yes! I searched my entire storage space and found 932 Qianwu Coins.” Barbara said.

“932 units of money?” Luo Feng blinked twice.

So poor!

“These are Qianwu Coins, not Black Dragon Coins, and certainly not the cheap Silver-Blue Coins.” Barbara quickly added. “It’s enough for you to get by on Yanlong Star for a while!”
