Chapter 234: Emergency Summon

After the mysterious beast let out a roar as if declaring its presence, two Emperor-level beasts immediately appeared behind it—one was a colossal octopus with eight sprawling arms, its body as vast as a floating island that blotted out the sky. The other resembled a serpentine dragon from ancient Chinese legends, stretching over a kilometer in length, its entire body crackling with violent arcs of lightning.

The two Emperor beasts also let out earth-shaking roars!

Boom~~

The soundwaves erupted outward in a powerful shockwave. In the lake below, countless aquatic beasts immediately began moving along the river channels, emitting eerie sounds as they advanced rapidly—invading the inland regions of humanity!

……

It was a little past eight in the evening.

In Yangzhou City, Jiangnan Base, the Luo residence.

In the living room, Luo Feng and Xu Xin sat together on the couch, watching TV with a tray of fruits and snacks before them.

“Today, one of my female employees came to me with another complaint,” Xu Xin said while watching the show. “I don’t really like hearing gossip from my staff, but I have to admit—our manager Li really lacks social skills. Does he have to be so obvious with his flattery? It makes things really awkward for me.”

“Fire him,” Luo Feng replied bluntly.

“You can’t run a company like that—just firing whoever you want,” Xu Xin countered. “After all, Manager Li’s work performance is decent. I’ll just give him a warning.”

“Alright, whatever. I don’t really understand business anyway.”

Luo Feng shrugged. “By the way, my parents are coming back tomorrow.”

“Huh?” Xu Xin was taken aback. “Then what should we do?”

“What do you mean ‘what should we do’? Just stay here,” Luo Feng turned to look at her, teasingly adding, “You’re already mine anyway, so why are you still shy?”

“Who said I’m yours!” Xu Xin’s eyes widened in indignation.

Luo Feng burst into laughter.

“You!” Xu Xin exclaimed, pretending to pounce at him with mock ferocity.

“Hold on, the phone!” Luo Feng suddenly called out.

“Don’t try to trick me,” she said doubtfully.

“No, really!” Luo Feng grabbed his phone from the side and pressed speakerphone. A deep voice immediately came through.

“Hello, Luo Feng.”

“Oh, Merhansen.” A slight smile appeared on Luo Feng’s face. “What do you need?”

Merhansen, the Snow Emperor?

Xu Xin was startled, covering her mouth in shock, not daring to interrupt the conversation.

Ever since the incident on Fog Island, the Snow Emperor and Luo Feng had developed a small grudge, and they hadn’t been in contact since. Unexpectedly, Merhansen, the top figure of the United States and the Third Elder of the World, had personally called.

“This is urgent—it concerns the survival of all humanity. You must enter the War God Palace immediately. All global Elders, Elders-in-Chief, and high-ranking government officials will be attending.”

“What’s going on?” Luo Feng was startled.

The survival of all humanity?

“I don’t have time to explain in detail. I still need to alert the others. Just get inside the War God Palace now!” With that, Mo Han Desen abruptly ended the call.

Indeed, if the American government wanted to inform someone like Luo Feng, who held a high status, a simple call from a staff member wouldn’t be credible. But Merhansen himself calling carried undeniable authority.

The living room fell silent.

Luo Feng frowned.

“Something happened?” Xu Xin asked, clearly worried.

“I don’t know. I’ll enter the virtual space and find out. I’ll tell you later.” Luo Feng said, then immediately went upstairs and entered the gravity chamber.

……

The gravity chamber door closed. Normally, Luo Feng only maintained 1x Earth gravity.

He sat cross-legged.

“Barbara, help me connect to the virtual space ‘War God Palace’.” He mentally linked to Barbara in his wrist space.

“No problem!”

Inside the wrist space, Barbara was lying on a hammock wearing only underwear, being massaged by servants. He chuckled.

……

Flash!

The vast room was exactly the one Luo Feng first stayed in when he entered the War God Palace. A Luo Feng in golden robes materialized inside.

“Senator Luo Feng, please proceed immediately to the top-floor conference hall.” A robotic voice echoed in the room.

“The top-floor conference hall?” Luo Feng was slightly surprised.

It was the largest hall in the War God Palace, where major parliamentary meetings were held. The fact that everyone was gathering there meant something serious had happened.

Luo Feng quickly left the room and rushed toward it.

On the spiral staircase, Luo Feng met two other senators and saw several white-robed warriors. He exchanged brief greetings with them, but clearly, they didn’t know what was happening either—they had just entered the virtual space upon an urgent call from the United States.

……

Inside the top-floor conference hall of the War God Palace, over fifty senators in golden robes had already gathered, along with many warriors in white. Among the white-robed figures were not all warriors—some were political leaders from the five major powers, specially authorized to attend this session.

These leaders might be presidents or vice-presidents, but not all of them were warriors.

Normally, they wouldn’t have access to this place, but today was an exception.

“Luofeng.”

“Jia Yi.” Luo Feng walked over and shook hands with him. “Do you know what’s going on?”

“It seems something big has happened in America, but the details are unclear.” Jia Yi shook his head slightly. “According to what the American President told us, it’s something extremely serious—something catastrophic. But he didn’t have time to explain further before notifying other countries.”

“Catastrophic?” Luo Feng felt a chill in his chest.

“Come, there are several leaders from our country you haven’t met yet. Let me introduce you.” Jia Yi led Luo Feng to meet several high-ranking officials.

More and more people gathered in the hall.

The atmosphere in the conference hall grew increasingly solemn. Within less than five minutes, all the senators had arrived, along with the leaders of the five major powers and the HR Alliance Elder. In short, Earth’s ruling elite had gathered here in a matter of moments.

“The First Elders have arrived.”

“The American President is here too.”

Luo Feng turned to look. Hong, the Thunder God, Merhansen, and others entered together, including the American President. The hall fell silent.

The President walked directly to the podium.

“Esteemed leaders of nations, Elders, and Senators,” the dark-skinned President’s expression was grim as he spoke gravely. “We are all gathered here today, which should be a grand occasion. But I must sadly inform you… Earth’s disaster, its apocalypse, has arrived!”

The expressions of everyone in the hall changed.

A national president wouldn’t lie to them here.

“I cannot explain it clearly. Please watch this video!” the dark-skinned President said solemnly.

Flash!

A large screen appeared at the front of the hall, and the video began playing.

The video opened with a sunset, a war base peacefully spanning across a river.

“This is the area of New York during the Great Nirvana Period,” Jia Yi whispered.

“What exactly is going on?” Luo Feng frowned, watching intently.

On the screen.

The war base was quiet, when suddenly—a shadow burst from the distant waters at an incredible speed, too fast to see clearly. A faint black blur was all that could be made out before it hovered in front of the war base! It was a mysterious beast none of those present had ever seen before!

Powerful hooves, massive wings covered in scales, a strong tail, a single horn pointing toward the heavens! And those cold, emotionless, dark golden eyes!

This was a beast over one hundred and eighty meters long!

“What kind of beast is that?”

“Never seen it before!”

“Judging by its size, it must be a King-level beast.”

“A King-level beast appearing in front of a war base? It’s practically asking for death! The laser cannons will obliterate it!”

The senators and national leaders below began murmuring, but every eye was fixed on the screen, watching for what would happen next. Yet—when they saw this mysterious beast, an inexplicable sense of fear naturally arose in their hearts. Though the intensity varied, for Hong, Luo Feng, and others, the fear was barely noticeable, causing them to feel puzzled.

At their level, there should be nothing on Earth that could instill fear in them.

On the screen!

Three brilliant beams of light instantly struck the mysterious beast. Everyone in the hall held their breath.

The beams faded!

“What!”

“It didn’t even scratch its scales?”

“That’s impossible! Even an Emperor beast can resist the highest-powered laser cannons, but it would still be injured!”

The hall erupted!

Even the calmest experts, including Hong, the Thunder God, and Luo Feng, were shocked. Under the strongest laser fire, even an Emperor beast—Hong or Luo Feng himself—would not dare claim to be completely unharmed!

“Everyone, I assure you, those three laser shots were at maximum power.” The dark-skinned President said gravely. “Please continue watching.”

Silence!

Everyone kept watching.

On the screen, the mysterious beast opened its mouth, and the surrounding space visibly distorted. The war base, which was far larger than the beast itself, actually began floating into the air. It flew toward the beast’s mouth, shrinking as it went, until it was no more than five meters in size—then swallowed whole.

“My God!”

“Impossible!”

“Heavens!”

Even the most composed leaders and supreme warriors were stunned.

This scene defied all human understanding of logic and science. A war base over five hundred meters long flying into the air and shrinking? How could that be possible? The war base had been eaten?

“All five thousand soldiers inside the war base were devoured. Not a single one survived.” The dark-skinned President’s voice was heavy.

“However!!!”

The President took a deep breath. “This… is only the beginning!”

He pointed at the screen, where the beast was now raising its head and roaring. “Led by this terrifying, mysterious creature, two Emperor beasts and countless other aquatic monsters have begun their inland invasion!” As he spoke, the video showed the aquatic beasts rushing forward along the rivers.

The scene shifted on the screen to another location in North America.

The mysterious beast had swallowed yet another war base.

“There is no resistance!”

“No matter how strong the war base, how brave the soldiers, or how powerful the warriors—it simply devours them all in one bite!”

“A nightmare.”

“A catastrophe!”

“The apocalypse!!!”

The President looked at every person in the hall, but everyone was silent. No one spoke.
