Chapter 220: Becoming a Disciple

“I admit my starting point is very low,” Luo Feng said, though the disparity in his mind was obvious. On Earth, especially in the realm of martial cultivation, he had always been a genius. From a young age, he was outstanding among his peers at the martial arts academy, and during high school, he was the best in his school. As a martial cultivator, he entered the Global Elite Training Camp and remained the best!

At the tender age of twenty-one, he had ascended to the rank of Planetary-Level powerhouse and claimed his place among the Six Overseers, wielding strength that could rival even the Third Councilor himself!

Yet, in the mouth of ‘Babata’…

His talent was pitifully low! Luo Feng also understood that what the other said was indeed correct, though the scope the other referred to was the vast universe.

“Babata, if I don’t take over another’s body, how long would it take me to cultivate to the Stellar-Level? And how long to reach the Cosmic-Level?” Luo Feng asked urgently.

“Fifty years to reach the Stellar-Level, I can be sure of that,” Babata said confidently. “Five hundred years to reach the Cosmic-Level, no problem either! As for becoming a Domain Lord… with the many preparations my Master left for his disciples before his death, five thousand to ten thousand years should suffice! I’m very confident about these four stages. As for becoming a World Lord… it might take about a hundred thousand years, just barely. It might even take longer.”

“Fifty years to reach the Stellar-Level? Five hundred years to the Cosmic-Level?” Luo Feng blinked twice. The time seemed quite long. From birth until now, Luo Feng had only lived more than twenty years. Five hundred years was just too long. In the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West,” Sun Wukong was trapped under Five-Finger Mountain for only five hundred years, and Chinese culture itself had only existed for five thousand years.

Too long.

“What? You think it’s too long?” The black-robed child ‘Babata’ instantly flew into a rage, leaping up with bared fangs as he roared, “Luo Feng, you must understand this clearly—in the entire Milky Way galaxy where your Earth resides, typically only one Cosmic-Level powerhouse emerges naturally! Do you believe reaching Cosmic-Level is that simple? And your talent is still so mediocre. If I weren’t trapped on Earth… across the vast universe, countless geniuses from humanity and other species would be kneeling and begging me, Babata, to accept them as disciples of my Master!”

“Do you know what position my Master held?”

“The Master of Yimo Star!!!”

“He was not merely an Immortal, but a supreme being among Immortals! Beneath his command, no fewer than nine mighty Immortal warriors served as his thralls! Across the cosmos, even mid-tier stellar empires—vast civilizations of unimaginable scale—would prostrate themselves before my Master, not daring to breathe a whisper of defiance!”

“Even high-level cosmic nations treated my Master with courtesy!”

“Master was someone who could walk around the universe with impunity! Do you understand?”

“With my Master’s careful preparations for you, someone with such weak talent could reach the Stellar-Level in 50 years, Cosmic-Level in 500 years, and become a Domain Lord in 5,000 to 10,000 years, even reaching the World Lord level after 100,000 years! And you still think it’s too long?” Babata roared furiously, “You really don’t know how lucky you are!!!”

Luo Feng actually understood…

After all, within the ruins of the Ninth Ancient Civilization, it had been confirmed that Luo Feng had no hope of reaching the Cosmic Level—let alone ascending to the ranks of a Domain Lord or World Lord! Remember, typically, only one World Lord emerges from a thousand galaxies. Among these countless stars, there may be innumerable prodigies of myriad races, perhaps even billions surpassing Luo Feng in talent… yet still, they fail to attain the status of World Lords…

The difficulty of becoming a World Lord was beyond imagination!

“Babata, did you just say nine Immortal-level slave warriors?” Luo Feng’s eyes widened in shock. “Are those corpses outside actually… slaves?” The bodies showed no signs of decay after fifty thousand years—their hair and skin remained eerily lifelike. Naturally, Luo Feng surmised that apart from the one reduced to a mere ‘golden skeleton,’ the others must all have been Immortal-level beings.

But he never expected… they were slaves!

“Hmph!”

Babata lifted his head, his face filled with pride, “Now you understand my Master’s greatness?”

“Among the seven corpses aboard the ‘Yimo Star’ spacecraft, one has decayed to mere bones. The other six are all Immortals.” Babata gazed at Luo Feng, “You must have noticed that out of the six Immortal corpses, one had a gaping hole in its chest—yet no internal organs remained, correct?”

“Yeah.” Luo Feng nodded.

“That one was an enemy, an Immortal powerhouse from the Machine Race.” Babata sneered, “But he came here only to meet his doom. Did he truly believe my gravely wounded Master would be easy prey?”

“The Machine Race?” Luo Feng memorized it silently. That was a completely different race from humans, whose bodies weren’t composed of flesh and blood.

“The other five Immortal corpses are all my Master’s slaves! Originally, my Master possessed nine Immortal-level slaves, but during that great battle years ago… too many supreme beings from across the cosmos were involved, and four of my Master’s Immortal slaves fell. My Master himself suffered mortal wounds, his life prematurely extinguished. Even this mighty starship, the ‘Yimo Star,’ was grievously damaged.” Babata shook his head.

Luo Feng listened in shock.

Four Immortal powerhouses fell? The Master of Yimo Star met his demise?

“In fact, my Master had already reached a stage where even if his body and soul were destroyed, as long as there was a single cell fragment left, he could regenerate.” Babata shook his head, “But back then, that enemy was even stronger than my Master, using ruthless methods.”

“Was it a person?” Luo Feng was stunned.

His body and soul were destroyed, and even his soul was gone, yet he could regenerate from just a single cell fragment?

“Don’t be surprised. At my Master’s level, any single cell fragment contains the soul imprint (spiritual imprint), so of course he could regenerate.” Babata was very proud, “Moreover, my Master’s life-saving methods weren’t just this one. He had many other techniques… Unfortunately, in the vast universe and endless time, there indeed exist beings stronger than my Master!”

Luo Feng nodded slightly.

There’s always someone stronger. One must never be too arrogant at any time.

“Babata, you said my Earth belongs to the ‘Silver-Blue Empire,’ a low-level cosmic civilization!”

“And the Silver-Blue Empire is part of the ‘Black Dragon Mountain Empire,’ a middle-level cosmic civilization controlling more than 8,000 galaxies!”

“What about high-level cosmic civilizations?” Luo Feng asked.

Babata smiled slightly: “Luo Feng, the unit of cosmic maps is one star domain, which usually contains 1,000 to 20,000 galaxies. Of course, there are some extremely small star domains and some extremely large ones! The Black Dragon Mountain Star Domain has more than 8,000 galaxies.”

“And above star domains are star regions—the largest unit in the universe!”

“One star region, on average, contains about 10,000 star domains, roughly equivalent to 100 million galaxies. Of course, different star regions vary in size.”

“Your Earth belongs to ‘Qianwu Great Star Region, Black Dragon Mountain Star Domain, Milky Way Galaxy.'” Babata said, “And the Qianwu Great Star Region oversees more than 13,000 star domains, with galaxy numbers exceeding 100 million. It is governed by the high-level cosmic nation ‘Qianwu Cosmic Nation,’ which has nearly a thousand middle-level cosmic civilization vassal states. This is considered the highest cosmic nation among human races in the vast universe.”

Luo Feng took a deep breath.

The highest cosmic nation in the universe?

Overseeing more than 13,000 star domains? Nearly a thousand vassal states like the Black Dragon Mountain Empire? Low-level civilizations like the Silver-Blue Empire must be as numerous as grains of sand… No wonder they were regarded as ants in the eyes of Yimo Star’s Master.

“High-level cosmic civilization, middle-level cosmic civilization, low-level cosmic civilization.” Luo Feng silently memorized these three levels, “My Earth belongs to Qianwu Great Star Region, Black Dragon Mountain Star Domain, Milky Way Galaxy.”

“Don’t aim too high.”

Babata cautioned, “The ‘Qianwu Cosmic Nation’ has endured for an unfathomable span of time, its dominion so boundless… that not even an Immortal powerhouse could fully traverse it across infinite epochs.”

Luo Feng nodded.

The Milky Way’s diameter exceeds 100,000 light-years. Qianwu Cosmic Nation has over 100 million galaxies. How vast is that?

“Luo Feng.” Babata looked at Luo Feng, “In the vast universe, the human race is merely one of the peak races! Do you know why humans can be at the peak?”

“Huh?” Luo Feng was puzzled.

“Because there are so many of us!” Babata said solemnly, “Humans are divided into many races. The Monka people and the Botele people mentioned earlier are extremely powerful bloodlines! However, there are thousands of human bloodlines, some strong, some weak! Earthlings like you belong to a relatively low bloodline. Don’t feel inferior—there are many in the universe who are even worse than Earthlings.”

“Humans have many races and even more numbers, so they became one of the peak races in the universe.”

“Besides the peak races, there are all kinds of strange lives and races in the universe! Never think these lives are easy to deal with! They are only few in number, so their status in the universe is low. If you consider individual power, many races have astonishing strength.”

“There are all kinds of strange lives, thousands of them, very peculiar.”

“Most have relatively weak combat power, but many are quite strong.”

“Among humans, the Monka people become ‘Domain Lords’ upon adulthood, one of the most monstrous types among humans. However… in the vast universe, there are a few rare strange lives even stronger than the Monka people! The most famous among them is the ‘Star Beast’.”

“Once a Star Beast reaches its peak, it can wander the cosmic space with just its body,” Babata said.

Luo Feng was secretly shocked.

“Star Beasts come in many varieties. The weakest are ‘Planetary-Level’ when they are born, ‘Stellar-Level’ during their growth period, and ‘Cosmic-Level’ at their peak. This is the weakest type of Star Beast.”

“Some are similar to the Monka people. They are ‘Planetary-Level’ as newborns, ‘Stellar-Level’ during their growth period, ‘Cosmic-Level’ in their youth, and ‘Domain Lord’ at their peak.”

“The most terrifying Star Beasts are born as ‘Planetary-Level’… reaching ‘Cosmic-Level’ in their youth, ‘Domain Lord’ in their prime, and ‘World Lord’ at their peak. They are the most supreme existences in the universe.” Babata fixed his gaze intently on Luo Feng. “Becoming an Immortal powerhouse cannot be achieved through bloodline alone, which is why bloodlines capable of ascending to World Lords are regarded as the most supreme of all.”

“The most supreme bloodlines among humans can grow to become Domain Lords. That’s already very excellent.”

“In the universe, there are bloodlines that can directly grow to ‘World Lord’ level. That’s truly extraordinary. Of course… extraordinary talents often provoke heavenly jealousy. Their numbers are astonishingly few!” Babata laughed, “Take, for example, the peak bloodline of the Star Beast race—the ‘Flame Star Beast.’ Flame Star Beasts are born inside a star, where the intense heat cannot harm them. Usually, they consume many stars and spend countless years before becoming a World Lord. Once they become a World Lord, they no longer need to consume stars. A Flame Star Beast has an extremely long lifespan! However, from birth to death, wandering the universe, they might never encounter a second Flame Star Beast!”

“There are several other types of lives similar to Star Beasts.”

“Without exception, they are all extremely rare!” Babata shook his head, “However, if you encounter such lives in the universe in the future, be sure to be cautious.”

Luo Feng nodded slightly.

Wow, star beasts that eat stars are truly extraordinary! Unfortunately, they might never meet a second of their kind in their entire lives; their numbers are indeed very few.

“In summary, the number of human races in the universe is countless, as well as other countless strange lives.”

“In this boundless cosmos, even the mighty Immortals struggle to comprehend all its mysteries.”

“Even someone as powerful as my Master can still perish,” Babata looked at Luo Feng, “Luo Feng, my Master once said before his death… no matter how powerful you become, you must always hold reverence for the universe!”

Luo Feng nodded.

The Master of Yimo Star, with nine Immortal Sovereign attendants, still met his demise!

“Luo Feng, make your decision. Will you become my Master’s disciple?” Babata looked at Luo Feng, “Only by becoming a disciple can you receive the many gifts my Master prepared for his disciples.”

“Of course, you can choose not to become a disciple,” Babata smiled slightly, revealing two fangs, “If you refuse, to keep my Master’s secrets, I can only kill you.”

“You decide. The choice is yours.”
