Chapter 161: Share of Rewards

Hongning Base City, within the Jiangnan Pavilion of the Elite Training Camp.

At dawn, the sky was just beginning to brighten, and Luo Feng stood on the balcony, facing east.

“Just a few days ago, I was being hunted by Li Yao in the wilderness of the Australian continent. Now, I’m standing here peacefully, alone, waiting for the Master’s summons,” Luo Feng smiled slightly. After returning with Inspector Liu the previous night, the inspector had arranged for Luo Feng to stay at the training camp temporarily.

All other trainees in the camp had gone on life-and-death missions, leaving Luo Feng as the only official trainee remaining.

What Luo Feng needed to do now was…

Wait for Master Hong’s summons and receive the massive reward.

This time, the Pangu Martial Arts Academy had made an astonishing discovery on the Fog Island. Even Inspector Liu, who received a 5% share, was visibly excited. One could only imagine how staggering Luo Feng’s share would be.

“The morning sun.” Luo Feng gazed eastward.

At that moment, the eastern horizon was ablaze with crimson clouds. Although the sun had not yet risen, rays of light pierced through the clouds, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

“I used to think I could live here for a couple of years, maybe even longer,” Luo Feng mused, running his hand over the balcony railing. “Looks like it’s time to leave.”

In the evening.

Two individuals dressed in black uniforms swiftly approached the courtyard outside the Jiangnan Pavilion.

Knock, knock, knock! Someone knocked on the door.

“Who is it?” Luo Feng stepped out of the house and opened the courtyard gate.

The man and woman in black uniforms appeared to be around thirty years old. Their eyes were sharp and alert. The petite woman with short hair smiled and said, “Trainee Luo Feng, the Master has summoned you. Please come with us.” The man beside her curiously observed the young man before them.

A personal summons from the Master was a rare occurrence.

“The Master?” Luo Feng’s heart leaped with joy. It was faster than he had expected—he had only returned a day ago, and the Master was already summoning him. It seemed the reward distribution was about to begin.

“Alright, let’s go.” Luo Feng nodded and followed the two.

Traversing the familiar paths, they soon arrived at the main entrance of the Elite Training Camp, where a black luxury limousine was parked. The car was over six meters long. The woman in the black uniform quickly stepped forward and opened the car door. “Trainee Luo Feng, please get in.”

Luo Feng entered the vehicle. The interior resembled a space capsule—luxurious and comfortable.

The car began to move smoothly, with almost no vibration felt inside. The man in black was seated next to the driver, while the woman in black sat beside Luo Feng.

Twenty minutes later.

Hiss! The car came to a stop.

“Trainee Luo Feng, we’ve arrived at the headquarters,” the woman in black smiled. As Luo Feng stepped out, he caught sight of the building before him and involuntarily gasped.

Heaven!

Before him stood an enormous spacecraft-like structure, over ten thousand meters long and about a hundred meters tall. The massive ship featured a wide entry hatch, several dozen meters across, large enough for people to enter. Outside this colossal vessel, numerous soldiers stood guard, giving the place a solemn and imposing atmosphere.

“Is this the real headquarters of the Pangu Martial Arts Academy?” Luo Feng marveled. Few had ever seen the headquarters of the academy, and there were no photos of it online.

A blue beam of light shot out from the ship, enveloping Luo Feng.

Beep!

“Trainee Luo Feng, please proceed,” a mechanical voice announced.

The woman in black beside Luo Feng said, “Trainee Luo Feng, only a select few high-ranking individuals have access to the headquarters. Unauthorized entry will result in immediate elimination by the defense systems. Please go inside now.”

Luo Feng nodded and walked forward.

The wide hatchway was bathed in a silvery-white glow.

“Why does this spacecraft building feel just like a real spaceship?” Luo Feng mused. “A spaceship over ten thousand meters long? I’ve never heard of such a thing.” Without further thought, he quickly passed through the hatch and entered the headquarters.

Inside the corridor, two individuals dressed in blue robes greeted him with smiles. “Trainee Luo Feng, please follow us.”

Almost everyone within the headquarters wore blue robes, with only a few wearing red.

“This is the lounge. Trainee Luo Feng, please wait here. The Master will summon you shortly,” the young woman in the blue robe smiled, speaking fluent Mandarin before obediently departing.

Inside the lounge, two people were already present.

“Greetings, Inspector Liu. Icepeak,” Luo Feng bowed slightly.

“Haha, Luo Feng, have a seat,” Inspector Liu smiled.

The bodyguard known as Icepeak glanced at Luo Feng but remained silent, saying not a word.

“The Master has returned from the Fog Island and summoned us three immediately. It’s probably about the distribution of the Fog Island’s treasures,” Inspector Liu chuckled, looking at Luo Feng. “Luo Feng, your share will be quite substantial.” In terms of rewards, even Inspector Liu’s allocation would likely pale in comparison to Luo Feng’s.

“Just luck. I just happened to discover the Fog Island,” Luo Feng replied.

“Even luck is a part of strength,” Inspector Liu smiled.

Icepeak remained silent beside him.

Suddenly—

“Icepeak, the Master is summoning you,” a voice called. Standing at the door was a black man in red robes.

“It’s starting.”

Both Luo Feng and Inspector Liu’s expressions shifted.

“Hmph.” Icepeak stood up, still wearing his golden mask, and followed the red-robed black man out.

“Icepeak must have gained a lot this time,” Inspector Liu couldn’t help but exclaim, then turned to Luo Feng. “Luo Feng, your share will probably be no small amount either. When the time comes… the Master should give you the opportunity to exchange some treasures. You must seize the chance and exchange for treasures you need.”

“Exchange for treasures?” Luo Feng was taken aback.

“Yes.”

Inspector Liu nodded and smiled. “This time, we acquired many Spirit Plants. In theory, you will receive some of them. But what would you do with so many Spirit Plants? The key is to find treasures that suit you best. You can exchange your Spirit Plants with the Master for some rare treasures—these are treasures you can’t buy with money.”

“Oh?” Luo Feng’s eyes lit up.

“You’ll see when the time comes,” Inspector Liu said lightly. “Though… some truly rare treasures, the Master might be reluctant to part with.”

After saying that, Inspector Liu fell silent.

A short while later—

“Inspector Liu, the Master is summoning you,” the same red-robed black man appeared at the door again.

“Luo Feng, I’ll go first,” Inspector Liu smiled and followed the red-robed man out, leaving Luo Feng alone in the lounge.

Luo Feng waited quietly.

Ten minutes later, the red-robed black man arrived at the door. “Luo Feng, the Master is summoning you.”

“Finally, it’s my turn.”

Luo Feng took a deep breath, stood up, and followed the red-robed man down the corridor. Soon, they arrived at a quiet chamber door, where the red-robed man slightly bowed and departed.

“Luo Feng, come in,” a cold voice called.

“That’s the Master.” Luo Feng had met Hong before and recognized his voice.

The reception room was empty and pitch-dark, with only two cushions inside.

The black-haired man sat cross-legged on one cushion, pointing at the other cushion in front of him. “Sit!”

“Yes.”

Luo Feng stepped forward and also sat on the cushion. In the presence of Hong, the invisible pressure alone compelled one to lower their head instinctively, with not a trace of resistance possible. It was like an ant before a divine dragon, with such a vast disparity in power that one could only submit.

The black-haired man looked at Luo Feng with a hint of warmth in his eyes and spoke. “This time, you discovered and reported the Fog Island, a significant achievement. For this, you are entitled to 10% of all Spirit Plants. Additionally, you contributed during the harvesting, earning you another 5% allocation. In total, you may claim 15%.”

“Exactly 15%,” Luo Feng thought to himself.

Considering that the golden-masked man had harvested a total of 92 Spirit Plants, plus the 10,000-year-old Willow Heart and two 1,000-year-old Willow Hearts Luo Feng had offered, the total was 95 Spirit Plants. To receive 15% of that was an unfathomable fortune.

Among them, the 1,000-year-old Willow Heart was considered low-grade and common.

Yet, a single 1,000-year-old Willow Heart was more valuable than a vial of Dragon’s Blood. One could only imagine the worth of 15%.

“Therefore—”

The black-haired man waved his hand.

Hiss!

Suddenly, in the pitch-black reception room, a 3D holographic projection appeared. Within it were images of twelve Spirit Plants.

“These twelve Spirit Plants vary in value, but combined, they amount to roughly 15% of the total value of the 95 Spirit Plants,” the black-haired man’s voice remained cold. “These twelve Spirit Plants are yours.”

“Twelve?” Luo Feng looked at the 3D projection.

Among the twelve, only one was a 1,000-year-old Willow Heart, which Luo Feng recognized. He was unfamiliar with the other eleven.

“You may examine the value of these twelve Spirit Plants in detail,” the black-haired man continued. As soon as he finished speaking, each Spirit Plant in the projection was accompanied by a large amount of text explaining their uses. Luo Feng’s vision was excellent, and he could read every word clearly.

The Black Ulu Root, when made into a three-kilogram medicinal wine, could be consumed daily at 100g, resulting in a dramatic enhancement of physical abilities and skin that became incredibly resilient…

The Hundred Dew Grass. No matter the poison or injury, chewing and consuming it would result in immediate recovery…

Each Spirit Plant possessed extraordinary effects. Among the twelve, one was particularly astounding, capable of enhancing physical abilities by six to ten times (with the limit being the peak of a High-Level Warrior).

Some of them made Luo Feng’s heart race with desire.

However, Luo Feng was also curious—how could the Master so easily know the effects and usages of each Spirit Plant, and even assign them various names?

“Master, does the Black Ulu Root truly grow for a thousand years?” Luo Feng couldn’t help but ask curiously.

“Foolish,” the black-haired man’s lips curled slightly into a smile. “Names are just randomly chosen. I’m a Han Chinese, so I give them names that Han people like. How long has it been since the Great Calamity? How long have I lived? The terms ‘thousand years’ or ‘ten thousand years’ are just exaggerations, meant to convey the extraordinary effects of these Spirit Plants.”

Luo Feng nodded.

“For you, who have already reached the peak of a High-Level Warrior, the effects of Spirit Plants are minimal,” the black-haired man said. “Therefore, I offer you an opportunity… the chance to exchange these Spirit Plants for treasures you need.”
