Chapter 1405: Howling

The Original Universe.

Above the vast Endless Abyss Sea, located at the core of the Human Territory and known as the Original Secret Domain, water currents converged to form a figure—Luo Feng, clad in crimson robes. Beside him, suspended in the void, stood another figure: the Chaos City Lord.

“How did it go?” the Chaos City Lord asked eagerly.

“443 Universe Lords who entered the army,” Luo Feng replied coldly. “Not one left.”

“Good!” The Chaos City Lord’s eyes blazed with excitement as he shouted.

In the distant Demon Clan territory, within the virtual world enveloping the Secret Realm of the Mengzu.

Inside this virtual world, there was a realm.

In the boundless mountain ranges veiled in mist and clouds, a colossal silver serpent writhed and coiled. Alongside it dwelled other formidable demonic Universe Lords, along with several subordinate demonic Universe Lords. Although most of these Universe Lords had ventured into the “Golden World,” they had left behind clones or divine incarnations in the Primordial Universe, allowing them to connect to the virtual realm and communicate with Mengzu at any time.

“There’s no need to worry; the military tasks are not dangerous—”

Three Universe Lords from the Monster Alliance had gathered together, one of whom was speaking—a bizarre flying creature entirely composed of gray bones. The others listening were Universe Lords from allied non-Monster factions.

At that moment, the strange flying creature suddenly displayed terror, and immediately vanished from the virtual world.

“Why did he leave the virtual world mid-sentence?” muttered the multicolored alien Universe Lord. Then he abruptly turned his head to the side. Originally, two Universe Lords had been listening alongside him, but now, the one beside him had also vanished.

“Why did they both disappear?”

The alien Universe Lord immediately sensed something was wrong.

If only one left, perhaps it was due to an urgent matter without time for explanation. But for two to vanish simultaneously, without any explanation, was suspicious.

“Ancestor Meng,” the alien Universe Lord called urgently.

Whoosh~~~

Suddenly, from the nearby mist, a massive silver great serpent emerged, its head raised high, gazing at the alien Universe Lord. “Mongtali, why have you summoned me?”

“Ancestor Meng, just now, Dreamwan and the others were here beside me, speaking about some information from the Jin World. I have never entered it before, so I was listening with curiosity. But unexpectedly, both Dreamwan and the other vanished suddenly from the virtual world. They gave no explanation at all, just disappeared.” Mongtali’s glowing blue eyes were filled with worry.

“Both vanished? No explanation?” Mengzu let out a low growl and immediately sensed something amiss.

Boom~~~

Mengzu immediately scanned the entire Endless Mountains. The results chilled him to the core. This was the most terrifying moment since he became the strongest being in the Original Universe—even more terrifying than the defeat during the war between the two factions.

“Vanished? All of them?” Mengzu realized in horror.

All the demonic race Alliance Universe Lords who had ventured into the Jin World, who had just moments ago been linked here within the Endless Mountains…

Now, they were all gone!

Every single one.

Across the entire Endless Mountains, only Mengzu and five other Universe Lords remained—those five had never entered the Jin World.

Boom~~~

Suddenly, a massive figure appeared above the mountains—an enormous serrated beast: Zhenzu.

“Mengcha,” Zhenzu loomed overhead, shouting anxiously, “All the Universe Lords under my command who went to the Jin World have vanished completely.”

“The same here!” Mengzu was equally frantic. “All of yours vanished too?”

“All Universe Lords who entered the Jin World have disappeared, each vanishing abruptly without even a message. Those who did not go are unharmed.” Zhenzu was also deeply alarmed.

Heaven forbid.

The Allied Forces were at a disadvantage, so many, many of them had gone to the Jin World. If they were all dead, it would be an unimaginable catastrophe—a true nightmare.

“Investigate.”

“We must check immediately,” Zhenzu urged anxiously.

Mengzu immediately began issuing orders through the virtual world to numerous Cosmic Sovereigns, instructing them to check on their respective masters, as Cosmic Sovereigns usually carried life-saving artifacts given by their masters.

“Ancestor, the token left by my master has become ownerless—my master is dead!”

“Ancestor, my master has perished!”

“Ancestor—”

In fact, before Mengzu had fully issued his orders, many Cosmic Sovereigns had already contacted him spontaneously, each one seemingly driven mad. One by one, the Universe Lords who had abruptly vanished from the virtual world had all perished—without exception.

This news struck Mengzu and Zhenzu like hammer blows to their souls.

It chilled them.

It terrified them.

It made them unwilling to believe.

Mengzu and Zhenzu looked at each other, their eyes no longer holding the calm indifference that even the collapse of the universe could not shake. Instead, panic filled their gazes.

“How could this happen? How could this happen…” Mengzu was completely thrown into disarray.

“This… this…” Zhenzu also felt dazed.

A blow.

An unprecedented catastrophe. Previously, the Demon Race had been one of the absolute pinnacle factions in the Primordial Universe, boasting over twenty native Universe Lords along with a contingent of subordinate Universe Lords. Yet in the blink of an eye, the Demon Race’s Universe Lords dwindled to merely four, while their vassal factions’ Universe Lords were reduced to just five!

What had once been so prosperous was now reduced to just a few stragglers…

“I… I—” Zhenzu raised his head, letting out an enraged roar.

Roar!!!!!

The roar was filled with boundless rage, endless resentment, and deep sorrow… The demon race’s accumulation over countless eons had vanished in an instant!

“We shouldn’t have entered the Jin World. We shouldn’t have!” Mengzu was also filled with regret.

Those driven to the brink of madness by grief were not only Mengzu and Zhenzu, but also the Machine Race’s Father God, the Insect Race’s Queen, the Hell Race’s Demon Ancestor, the Crystal Race’s Holy Master, the various races within the Northern Border Alliance, and countless other factions that had joined the Allied Forces—all were plunged into an unprecedented nightmare.

Some factions, which had once possessed ten or eight Universe Lords, were now reduced to just one.

Some races lost their Universe Lords entirely.

A nightmare!

“Your Insect Race Alliance too? Your entire Insect Race Alliance has only six Universe Lords left?”

“Northern Border Alliance, you lost over ninety Universe Lords? Even the Star River Lord perished?”

“All like this?”

“The Crystal Race and Hell Race suffered the same tragedy as you.”

When the Allied Forces contacted each other, they were shocked to find that every faction was the same.

Mengzu and Zhenzu thought they were relatively fortunate. In their view, if all the Universe Lords who had entered the Jin World from their side had died instantly, then it made no sense for other factions to remain unscathed. Upon inquiry and investigation, they found—indeed, all were the same.

Because they were the Allied Forces, communication between them was naturally swift.

Soon—

They began contacting various factions in the Cosmic Sea.

“No.”

“You say many Universe Lords have died? Our Skeleton Race has no such issue. Our Universe Lords in the Jin World are doing fine. Since joining the army, none have perished.”

“Of course not. The Jin World is an extraordinary realm, full of opportunities and endless treasures. Almost all of our race went there. This batch, as long as they joined the army, none have died. But soon, the army will issue new tasks.”

“Haha, how many Universe Lords from my Dongdi Holy Land entered the Jin World? Very few perished. At most, some might have fallen during the army’s selection process. Everything is fine. What happened to your Hell Race?”

One message after another arrived.

The Allied Forces were stunned. Previously, they had discovered massive losses among themselves and assumed it was a general phenomenon. If it were widespread, and all factions in the Cosmic Sea suffered significant losses, then relatively speaking, their respective positions wouldn’t be greatly affected. They had hoped that all major factions were the same.

However, all factions in the Cosmic Sea were safe and sound.

No—

More accurately, they finally found one other faction sharing their plight.

“You too? Our Purple Moon Holy Land also suffered a devastating attack in the Jin World. For unknown reasons, all our Holy Land’s Universe Lords who entered the Jin World perished completely.”

“Ah, your Purple Moon Holy Land also suffered the same fate? Our Allied Forces—the Demon Race, Insect Race, Machine Race, Hell Race, Crystal Race, and all other allied factions—have all been struck. All who entered the Jin World have perished.”

“All of them dead.”

“Not a single survivor.”

The Purple Moon Holy Land and the Allied Forces had always maintained good relations. Upon contact, they discovered that across the entire Cosmic Sea, aside from the Purple Moon Holy Land and the Allied Forces, all other factions were safe.

They immediately sensed something was amiss.

If the Jin World had launched a massive extermination against intruders, how could it possibly spare all other factions? Was it targeting only them? After all, the Universe Lords they dispatched had been absorbed into various armies, almost all dispersed. How could the Jin World identify their allegiance?

“Humans are unharmed!”

“The entire Human Alliance’s Universe Lords are also unharmed!”

The Purple Moon Holy Land and the Allied Forces quickly detected this news, leaving them both shocked and furious.

No supreme being was a fool.

The Purple Moon Holy Land and the Allied Forces… their common enemy was the Human Faction! And with the rapid decline of these two factions, the greatest beneficiary would naturally be the Human Faction! Moreover, the Purple Moon Holy Land had schemed against Luo Feng in the Jin World, but mysteriously failed. Why would a Void True God spare Luo Feng?

All of this…

Pointed to the Humans!

“Only factions within our Cosmic Sea could accurately identify the allegiance among countless soldiers.”

“If not the Humans, then who else is scheming against us?”
