Chapter 1362: Confrontation

The red-faced soldier walked toward Luo Feng with a grin and transmitted his voice, “Galactic, do you think changing your appearance and wearing disheveled hair can hide you from us? No matter how you change, your divine aura remains the same. As long as someone gets close enough, they can immediately recognize you.”

Luo Feng glanced at him, “There’s more than just you, isn’t there?”

“The captain and the others have already arrived and are scattered around,” the red-faced soldier transmitted. “We saw your power at the edge of the True God battlefield. You easily escaped from several True Gods… I’m not arrogant enough to think I alone can stop you.”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

In the distance, amidst the chaos of the Xuanyu Mountain army, over a dozen figures approached.

Luo Feng scanned the area and recognized one of them as the captain with the large curved horns. The others were the soldiers under the captain’s command.

“Recruit Galactic, you are stronger than we expected.”

“Your strength is indeed impressive.”

“We are willing to accept you and let you become one of us.”

One by one, the soldiers transmitted their voices.

Even the captain looked at Luo Feng and transmitted, “Recruit Galactic!”

“Captain,” Luo Feng looked at the captain. When he had first entered the Manhe Army, the captain had not looked upon him favorably as a new recruit. Now, however, the captain wore a warm and friendly smile.

“We did not accept you before because normal recruits are usually weak, but your strength has now been acknowledged by us,” the captain said directly. “If you contribute a True God corpse and share it with us, the other soldiers in our squad will all respect you, and I am willing to give up my position as captain… for you to take over!”

“That’s right, we will follow you as our captain.”

“If Galactic helps us just a bit, we can survive!”

“Galactic!”

One by one, the soldiers looked at Luo Feng with hope, and the captain also looked at him with expectation, seemingly selflessly willing to give up the captain’s position.

Luo Feng glanced around, “Really?”

“Of course.”

“We will immediately recognize you as our captain,” the soldiers transmitted in succession.

But Luo Feng smiled, a coldness in his smile, and transmitted, “However, what do your lives have to do with me?”

A stunned silence followed, and each soldier was taken aback.

“Didn’t you not care about the lives and deaths of recruits before?” Luo Feng grinned. “Why are you talking about camaraderie now?”

He had long seen through everything. What captain? What camaraderie? All jokes. The brutal military selection process had caused wave after wave of soldiers to perish. These veteran soldiers had long grown accustomed to seeing their comrades fall. Each of them only wanted to survive and become True Gods themselves. Who would care about the empty title of captain?

This group of soldiers followed the captain only because the captain was powerful.

If it came to survival, this group of soldiers would likely abandon the captain immediately.

The eighteen soldiers, including the captain, all had grim expressions. They hadn’t expected Luo Feng to be so oblivious to the situation.

“Galactic!” the horned captain transmitted angrily, “Fifty True Gods are currently hunting you. They also suspect… that you must be in one of the many battlefields of the Sovereigns of Laws in Xuanyu Mountain. There are many such battlefields, and many of them are being watched from afar by True Gods searching for you. Not far from here, high in the sky, there is a True God observing this place.”

Luo Feng looked up at the distant sky.

Indeed, a coiling, strange beast True God was watching this massive battlefield from afar.

“I know,” Luo Feng transmitted. “But from that distance, it can’t recognize me.”

“But we can tell it,” the horned captain transmitted. “We only need to make eye contact with it, and it will immediately notice this location. Just by moving our mouths and letting it see our lip movements… it will know what we are saying.”

“Oh?” Luo Feng smiled.

“If you are discovered, that True God only needs to issue an order, and it will immediately command numerous Sovereigns of Laws from Jiuyan Marsh to surround you. Then you won’t have anywhere to escape,” the horned captain stared at Luo Feng. “You will surely perish! Choose: either hand over most of the True God corpses to us and safely return to the barracks with some yourself, or die here and gain nothing!”

“Choose now.”

“Galactic, our chances of surviving this military mission are already extremely slim. If you force us, we will all die together.”

“Die, but drag you down with us.”

One by one, the soldiers stared at Luo Feng.

Luo Feng shook his head, “Then go die. I will return to the barracks with thirty-five True God corpses.”

Saying so, he turned directly and roared furiously, “Kill the scum from Jiuyan Marsh!” and transformed into a streak of light rushing into the distance.

The eighteen soldiers, including the captain, were all astonished. They hadn’t expected that at this point, this new recruit Galactic would still not be afraid. Did this new recruit Galactic actually believe… that he alone could escape the encirclement and pursuit of the entire Jiuyan Marsh force?

Though shocked, how quick were their reactions!

At the same moment Luo Feng moved, all eighteen of them moved as well.

“You want us to die, recruit? Then you die too!”

“That damned Galactic.”

“Damned.”

“It’s your own doing,” some soldiers had twisted expressions, their eyes filled with madness, and they rushed toward him.

But at this moment, Luo Feng, flying at high speed, sneered.

Boom! Boom!

He fully unleashed the second volume of “Severance,” reaching an extremely terrifying acceleration, quickly leaving these soldiers behind.

“You think you can chase me?” Luo Feng didn’t care at all.

“Galactic, don’t think you can escape,” the fastest among the pursuing soldiers was the horned captain. The captain had originally thought this new recruit would be cautious… and that he could use this to pressure Galactic into submission. However, reality diverged greatly from his expectations. This new recruit Galactic actually didn’t care at all and simply fled.

Other soldiers had never seen Luo Feng unleash his full power, but the horned captain had. He knew that when this new recruit truly went all out… the others couldn’t stop him at all.

“Hiss~hiss~hiss~~~” A pair of enormous black wings rapidly emerged from the captain’s back, the edges of the wings adorned with hundreds of black ribbons.

Whoosh~~~~

The hundreds of black ribbons from the enormous black wings swiftly tore through the air, enveloping the area. No matter how fast Luo Feng was, he couldn’t match the speed of these ribbons. Luo Feng felt the sky and earth suddenly darken… he looked back and saw the ribbons, resembling giant snakes, instantly enveloping him.

“Get away!” Luo Feng held a large hammer in each hand.

Because he had been disguising his identity among the large group of Sovereigns of Laws in Xuanyu Mountain, and didn’t want to be discovered by the distant observing beast True God, he had deliberately used a pair of hammers in battle.

“Whoosh~~” Each hammer traced an arc.

The surging, burning divine energy made these hammer strikes incredibly powerful, directly sweeping back the surrounding black ribbons slightly. However, even so, the delay allowed a large number of black ribbons to form a massive black sphere, completely enclosing him.

“Extremely tough and immensely powerful,” Luo Feng sensed the ribbons’ power through the hammers and couldn’t help but be shocked. “The captain hasn’t even used any secret techniques, yet these black ribbons alone have such immense power. That doesn’t make sense.”

Generally, immense power required secret techniques.

How could these ribbons alone have such strength?

“Could it be a mechanical artifact?” Luo Feng instantly deduced. “To break free, I’ll need to use the Blood Shadow Blade and my strongest sword techniques. However, if this drags on, I don’t know how much time I’ll waste. Probably, in the end, that beast True God will discover me.”

The sudden clash between the captain and recruit Galactic, although puzzling to some nearby tribal warriors, was merely a curiosity to them. After all, from the outside, the captain’s attack seemed like nothing more than using a ‘mental weapon’ to bind. They were only slightly curious… even if there were past grudges, why would they fight now? Could it be over the spoils of war?

“The captain’s Black Cloud Wings are truly powerful.”

“The Black Cloud Wings are fast in flight, have strong binding capabilities, and provide excellent protection. They are definitely life-saving treasures.”

The other soldiers were filled with envy.

Just at that moment—

“Boom!”

The massive black sphere formed by the countless ribbons suddenly began flying toward the distance at an incredibly terrifying speed. One part of the sphere bulged outward.

It was as if a monster inside the sphere made of black ribbons was flying at an ultra-high speed, forcefully dragging the entire black sphere along with it at an ultra-high velocity.

“Hiss~hiss~hiss~~~” One by one, the black ribbons stretched and began to separate, revealing the bow of an ancient warship. The surface of this ancient warship was entwined with countless black ribbons, binding it tightly. Yet the ancient warship continued to accelerate, seemingly unaffected.

Ultra-high-speed flight!

Its speed kept increasing!

“What!” The captain was greatly alarmed.

“Such powerful flight force.” The captain exerted his utmost control through his Black Cloud Wings, trying desperately to pull the ancient warship back.

But the ancient warship was too powerful to be restrained. Instead, it dragged the captain along at an ultra-high speed toward the distant horizon.

“You wanted to introduce me to a True God? Then let’s go see one,” the ancient warship, carrying the captain, directly flew rapidly toward the high altitude in the distance.

How powerful was the propulsion of the Mausoleum Boat!

Could such immense power be stopped by a mere Cosmic Sovereign?

Whoosh!

The warship flew at an incredible speed, continuously ascending toward the distant high altitude, where a coiling, strange beast True God was circling at the outermost edge of this battlefield.

“Stop! Stop!” the captain roared furiously.

“You want to die? Then let’s both die,” the ancient warship continued its high-speed advance toward the direction of the beast True God.

The captain finally panicked.

After all,

he had also stolen a True God corpse! Although the True Gods of Jiuyan Marsh were very eager to capture Luo Feng, Luo Feng was now hiding inside the warship, not emitting any aura. The beast True God probably couldn’t confirm Luo Feng’s identity. Instead, it would first identify the captain as the one who stole the True God corpse first, and would definitely not let him escape.

“You’re ruthless,” the captain was furious but had no choice but to give up. The countless black ribbons entwined around the ancient warship quickly loosened, and the captain rapidly separated from the ancient warship.

“You have a mechanical blade, and now even a mechanical warship? The propulsion of this warship is so strong that even my mechanical ‘Black Cloud Wings’ couldn’t hold it back,” the captain floated in midair, watching helplessly as the ancient warship quickly dove into the marsh grass far away, filled with resentment.

“I didn’t know you had a mechanical warship! That’s why I let you escape!”

“Escaping once, I don’t believe you can escape again,” the captain gritted his teeth.

Shortly afterward, among the hundreds of thousands of beast soldiers of the Jiuyan Marsh faction, a large number of beasts roared furiously, charging toward the Xuanyu Mountain side.

“Kill, kill the scum from Xuanyu Mountain!” a giant winged lizard with golden horns roared furiously, charging toward the Xuanyu Mountain side from within the Jiuyan Marsh faction’s army.
