Chapter 1290: Ancestor God

Master Shan has departed and is now focusing on refining another ‘Ancient God Eye’.

“Old Beaspirit…” Luo Feng sat cross-legged in a quiet hall, frowning in deep thought.

“I didn’t expect that before we humans could approach him, he came to me first.”

There are three kinds of forces that the human race needs to court:

The first type consists of numerous independent cosmic rulers from various species. Though each seems weak individually, collectively they form the most powerful and significant force.

The second type includes the Patriarchal Church and the Star-Beast Alliance—two factions with minimal territorial ambitions.

The third type is the solitary ultimate warrior.

The human race is willing to bear certain costs to win over these independent cosmic overlords, as these costs will not impact humanity’s future plans. However, negotiations with the ultimate powerhouses—the Patriarchal Church and the Star-Beast Alliance—are far more complex, for what they seek is crystal clear to humanity: the method of transcending the cycle of reincarnation!

Firstly, humanity itself is uncertain about transcending samsara, as higher-level information is entirely veiled by the Primordial Will.

Secondly, if the method to transcend the cycle of reincarnation cannot be obtained, the Solitary Ultimate powerhouse and other factions might instead demand detailed cultivation experiences leading to the “pinnacle of a cosmic ruler.” For humanity, this would represent its future peak combat strength. After all, reaching the “pinnacle of a cosmic ruler” equates to the power of the ancient progenitor.

Allowing alien races and lone ultimate powerhouses to produce several progenitor-level warriors?

If humanity lacks superiority in peak combat power, how can it ever become the ‘foremost force in the Cosmic Sea’? How can it ever achieve true prosperity and invincibility?

“Even within the human race itself, there are disagreements without consensus,” Luo Feng pondered. “Everyone is watching to see how many independent cosmic overlords we can successfully recruit. If we manage to attract enough of these independent cosmic overlords, even missing a few solitary supreme powerhouses wouldn’t significantly impact the overall situation.”

Humanity is waiting.

Waiting to see how many cosmic rulers can be courted, how many will side with the opposing faction, and how many will remain neutral.

Only then can both sides judge their respective strengths—if the human faction believes it can withstand the allied forces, there would be no need to pay a high price to factions like the Star-Beast Alliance. After all, humanity must consider not only the present but also the future!

That same day, about three hours after Luo Feng arrived at his teacher’s place, the Old Beaspirit arrived.

“Luo Feng!” the voice echoed through this palace area.

Whoosh!

Luo Feng immediately flew out and soon saw a massive presence hovering in the void—a coiled, serpentine figure with a colossal dragon head. On this dragon head were nine horns forming a crown-like shape. Its enormous coiled body bore massive hooves, each hoof having nine claws.

“He actually came in person,” Luo Feng thought. “Clearly, this Star-Beast Patriarch is showing sincerity.”

“Star-Beast Patriarch,” Luo Feng called out loudly, his voice echoing through the void.

The Star-Beast Patriarch, floating in the void, slightly stretched its body but kept its head facing Luo Feng, speaking with a hint of warmth: “Since our parting at the Beaspirit Realm, this is only our second meeting.”

“Indeed, it’s been a long time since we last met, Patriarch,” Luo Feng smiled. “Back then in the Beaspirit Realm, you helped me. Luo Feng has always been grateful.”

“Hahahaha…” The Star-Beast Patriarch laughed, his voice deep and resonating throughout every inch of space. “There’s no need for gratitude.”

In fact, Luo Feng’s entry into the Beaspirit Realm was mainly because the Star-Beast Patriarch already owed Master Shan a favor.

“You and I have some rapport, so let’s speak plainly,” the Star-Beast Patriarch said directly. “You clearly understand the current situation—two opposing factions: the Human Alliance and the Allied Armies. The Allied Armies are continuously courting various forces. I know of many who have already joined them.”

“There are also some who’ve joined us,” Luo Feng smiled.

“True,” the Star-Beast Patriarch replied. “But all races know how great a threat your human race poses! The independent cosmic rulers are also aware… Don’t talk about your promises—what’s a promise worth? Who can guarantee that you won’t break it in the future? The survival and proliferation of cosmic races have always been cruel and bloody. Once your human race truly rises in power, who can guarantee that you’ll keep your promises?”

Luo Feng sighed inwardly.

Yes.

That’s the biggest weakness.

“Therefore, in this struggle to court the independent cosmic rulers, your human race is destined to be inferior to the Allied Armies,” the Star-Beast Patriarch said. “So you should ally with my Star-Beast Alliance, the Patriarchal Church, and the solitary ultimate powerhouse.”

“Oh?” Luo Feng listened attentively.

“I’ve already spoken with the three Patriarchs of the Patriarchal Church,” the Star-Beast Patriarch looked at Luo Feng. “My Star-Beast Alliance and the Patriarchal Church will advance and retreat together!”

Luo Feng was stunned.

These two transcendent forces had already allied? Once united, their influence naturally grew stronger, giving them more confidence in negotiations—whether with humanity or the Allied Armies.

“Our conditions are simple,” the Star-Beast Patriarch said slowly. “First, we need the ancient civilization’s cultivation guidance for a cosmic ruler to transcend into a cosmic overlord. Second, we need detailed guidance on transcending samsara. Luo Feng, if your human race agrees, my Star-Beast Alliance and the Patriarchal Church will immediately join your human faction!”

Luo Feng’s heart tightened.

Here it comes!

He knew it would be these demands! Different factions, due to their different positions, had somewhat different requirements. Smaller factions currently dared not even dream of transcending samsara—they only hoped to produce a cosmic overlord to ensure their race’s survival for three samsara cycles.

“Patriarch,” Luo Feng stared at the Star-Beast Patriarch. “Don’t you know about the Primordial Will?”

“The Will of the Primordial Universe?” the Star-Beast Patriarch said slowly. “Of course I do.”

“If you know that, then you should understand… any information about transcending samsara, or higher-level cultivation experiences, is completely veiled by the Will of the Primordial Universe,” Luo Feng looked at the Star-Beast Patriarch in the distant void. “So we humans ourselves don’t even know how to transcend samsara.”

The Star-Beast Patriarch said, “I’ve spoken with the three Patriarchs. I naturally understand. I’m not asking you to hand over the exact method of transcending samsara—just detailed guidance up to the level of ‘cosmic overlord pinnacle.’ Reaching that pinnacle, beyond that, naturally depends on my own efforts!”

“Will you agree?” The Star-Beast Patriarch stared at Luo Feng. “If you agree, the Star-Beast Alliance and the Patriarchal Church will immediately join the human faction. Not only us, but I estimate that many solitary ultimate powerhouses will have the same thoughts. You can also attract them with such conditions. It all depends on whether your human race is willing to offer or not.”

“There must be giving to gain!”

“This is a decision your human race must make!” The Star-Beast Patriarch looked at Luo Feng.

Luo Feng fell silent.

A decision?

In reality, many solitary supreme powerhouses, the Star-Beast Alliance, and the Patriarchal Church—they don’t care whether humanity will thrive and expand in the future, because they have no interest in territorial gains! It makes no difference to them if the Cosmic Sea gains another faction, or even one stronger than the Sacred Realm Universes.

They only want the ‘inheritance’—the cultivation methods leading to the pinnacle!

As for the method?

As long as they obtain the inheritance, what difference does the method make? Joining the human faction, joining the Allied Armies… either is acceptable! It all depends on which path is viable.

The Star-Beast Patriarch looked at Luo Feng.

After a long silence.

“Patriarch,” Luo Feng finally spoke.

“What is it?” The Star-Beast Patriarch also showed a rare trace of tension, as this concerned his fate and the fate of the Star-Beasts.

Luo Feng said solemnly, “I’ve thought about it for a long time, but this matter isn’t something I can decide alone. I need to return… to discuss thoroughly with my teacher, the Chaos City Lord, and a few others. If in the end our human race agrees… I will personally come to inform you, Patriarch. If not, my teacher Master Shan will inform you.”

“Good!” The Star-Beast Patriarch let out a low roar. “Then the Patriarchal Church and I will await your human race’s response.”

Boom!

The Star-Beast Patriarch then vanished directly.

Luo Feng stood silently for a long time…

That same day, although Luo Feng’s main body was with Master Shan, he immediately contacted the Chaos City Lord through the Virtual Universe.

“Luofeng, aren’t you asking Master Shan to help forge a treasure? You should still be there, so why are you suddenly contacting me?” The Chaos City Lord sensed that Luo Feng must have important news.

Both of them sat down.

“It’s like this—the Old Beaspirit of the Star-Beast Alliance met with me and proposed conditions,” Luo Feng said solemnly.

“The Old Beaspirit?” The Chaos City Lord was startled, then quickly asked, “What conditions?”

“The same as we originally guessed,” Luo Feng sighed. “First, the ancient civilization’s cultivation guidance for a cosmic ruler to become a cosmic overlord. Second, guidance to reach the ‘cosmic overlord pinnacle’!”

The Chaos City Lord immediately frowned.

The ‘cosmic overlord pinnacle’? That was the power level of the ancient progenitor!

“And he also said that his Star-Beast Alliance and the Patriarchal Church will advance and retreat together,” Luo Feng said solemnly. “I suspect they’ve already allied.”

“The Patriarchal Church?” The Chaos City Lord frowned. “The Patriarchal Church… they probably aren’t in such a hurry. Their demands probably aren’t as high as those of the Star-Beast Alliance.”

“Huh?” Luo Feng was puzzled.

“Oh, as you’ve risen step by step and roamed the Cosmic Sea… you’ve actually missed some basic information,” the Chaos City Lord smiled. “The three Patriarchs of the Patriarchal Church are actually only cosmic rulers, not cosmic overlords.”

“What!” Luo Feng was greatly shocked.

The three Patriarchs…

Were cosmic rulers?

“This is a secret, but only a secret among the upper echelons,” the Chaos City Lord shook his head. “First, when the Patriarchal Church was founded, the three Patriarchs already existed from the beginning! Could cosmic overlords really be so easy to produce, with three appearing at once, all joining the Patriarchal Church? Second, the three Patriarchs have never entered the Cosmic Sea. Third, the troubles encountered in the Cosmic Sea have always been resolved by figures like the Nine-Yu Overlords—other cosmic rulers.”
