Chapter 160: Relocating the Family

Though anxious, all the Transcendents waited patiently.

They understood that the Semi-God Lords were engaged in battle, striving to protect the lands of the Xia Clan.

“Never would I have imagined that demons would invade in our era!” Yuan Qing couldn’t help but exclaim, his heart heavy with complex emotions.

“Demon invasions have occurred frequently throughout the history of our Xia Clan,” Dongbo Xueying replied. “The Dark Abyss is the source of all darkness, destruction, and negativity. It connects countless material worlds, and occasionally, spatial fluctuations can temporarily link our world with the Dark Abyss. We still don’t know the scale of this invasion.”

“Hmm,” Cheng Lingshu said with concern. “Based on the information we’ve gathered so far, it seems this invasion is quite severe.”

Demon invasions varied in intensity.

In the history of the Xia Clan, the largest invasion saw over three hundred Semi-God demons descend upon their world. Humanity and magical beasts were nearly wiped out entirely, with only a few escaping into the Spark World. Even the Spark World was heavily attacked by the demons, forcing humanity into a defensive struggle.

That invasion had been truly catastrophic.

Over time, some demons managed to leave, while others grew old and perished. After all, it was extremely difficult for them to reproduce in the mortal realm. Meanwhile, humanity continued to multiply and pass down their legacy. The balance of power gradually shifted in humanity’s favor, allowing them to counterattack and reclaim their homeland—though it took ninety thousand years to do so.

Of course, such devastating invasions were rare—only two had occurred in Xia history. One war lasted ninety thousand years, and the other lasted thirty thousand years.

Other invasions…

were mostly minor, with only a few demons slipping through unnoticed spatial rifts. These had little to no impact on the Xia Clan as a whole.

“According to current reports, there have already been three instances of city-wide massacres in a short time,” Yu Jingqiu said. “This invasion is quite large in scale.”

“Damn it!” Zong Tu gritted his teeth in frustration. “If only I were stronger! Then I could go out and slaughter these damned abyssal demons myself!”

Dongbo Xueying was equally anxious.

But now, the Spark World had been temporarily sealed, forbidding any Transcendents from leaving. They could only remain in the Xia Capital and await orders from the Spark Palace.

As dusk fell, the cold grew more intense. Dongbo Xueying and the others silently endured the wait. In truth, Dongbo was deeply worried about his family. With demons attacking various regions, were his parents and younger brother safe? He couldn’t go to them, so he used his communication ring to instruct them to temporarily relocate to remote areas at the foot of the mountain.

“Hmm?” Dongbo suddenly stiffened. Cheng Lingshu, Yu Jingqiu, Zong Tu, Yuan Qing, and the others in the tavern all quickly checked their communication rings.

A message had been sent to each of them.

It was from the Spark Palace.

“This is a time of urgent war!” the message read.

“Just as everyone has anticipated, abyssal demons have invaded, though the scale remains uncertain. There are two matters now that all Transcendents must heed!”

“First, the Spark World is now one-way only—no one may leave! All Transcendents below the rank of Semi-God must remain within the Spark World and await orders.”

“Second, all important family members of the Transcendents may be relocated to the Spark World by our Semi-Gods. Please submit the names of your family members to us within one hour. Note that each Transcendent may only bring up to ten mortal family members.”

The message was brief, yet it weighed heavily on all the Transcendents.

Relocating family members was relatively easy. Usually, a province had only about ten Transcendents. A Semi-God Lord could traverse the void and quickly bring ten families into the Spark World.

Dongbo Xueying and the others wasted no time contacting their families.

Each Transcendent was limited to ten family members. Many ancient Transcendent families were vast, with hundreds or even thousands of descendants. Without restrictions, a single Transcendent might bring hundreds of relatives.

“Father, Mother, I’ve reserved spots for you, Mother, Brother, and Uncle Zong and Uncle Tong! We have a maximum of ten spots. If you need to adjust, notify me immediately!” Dongbo Xueying sent messages to his loved ones.

Soon—

The list was finalized.

His parents and Uncle Zong had no additional requests. Uncle Tong wished to bring his wife and children. Qing Shi, currently at the Changfeng Academy, also made a request—if there were remaining spots, he wished to bring three companions with him into the Spark World. Dongbo Xueying agreed without hesitation. With exactly ten people, he quickly finalized the list and sent it to the Spark Palace.

That night, the Xia Capital was destined to be restless.

Transcendents gathered in every corner, anxious yet helpless as they waited. They all knew that the most powerful Semi-God Lords, those wielding divine artifacts, could single-handedly wipe out all the Skyborne and Saint-level Transcendents combined!

They could do nothing but wait, no matter how bitter their frustration.

At this moment, the Semi-Gods were the backbone of the Xia Clan—this was fully evident.

The mighty Semi-Gods not only possessed immense power but could also traverse the void effortlessly to any location.

“They’re coming.”

“The family members have arrived.”

As the first batch of family members arrived, the Transcendents rushed to greet them at the World Gate.

Dongbo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, and others hovered in the air, watching the World Gate atop a distant mountain as family members poured through into the Spark World.

They waited patiently.

Occasionally, a province’s Transcendents would arrive together with their families.

“The Anyang Province group is here,” Dongbo Xueying, Yu Jingqiu, Yuan Qing, Cheng Lingshu, and others perked up.

A group of figures stepped through the World Gate.

“Mother!” Yu Jingqiu immediately flew forward to greet her family.

Dongbo Xueying’s eyes lit up as he spotted his beloved family among the crowd. A sturdy man and a woman in a purple robe walked side by side. Beside them were a six-armed snake demon and a lion family. Further away was the strikingly handsome ‘Qing Shi’ with his companions—two female companions and one male.

“Brother!” Qing Shi shouted joyfully.

“Xueying,” Mother Moyang Yu smiled as she called out. She wasn’t smiling out of relief from escaping danger—after all, though the demons seemed numerous, the Xia world was vast, and only a tiny fraction had encountered them. In fact, Moyang Yu and the others lived in the remote Xueying Domain, and Qing Shi resided at the Changfeng Academy. They had yet to feel the demons’ threat.

They were simply happy to see Dongbo Xueying.

It had been a very long time since they last met.

“Hmm?” Dongbo Xueying’s heart swelled with joy as he saw these precious loved ones. He immediately noticed that his younger brother Qing Shi seemed unusually close to one of his female companions.

“Whoosh!” Without hesitation, Dongbo Xueying swiftly flew down to greet his family.
