At the edge of the Void, within the Inner Domain.
“Whoosh.”
A Destroyer Demon, originally flying at high speed, suddenly split into hundreds of blood-colored streaks of light, scattering in all directions, most still heading toward the spatial barrier.
“Annihilate!” A cold, commanding voice echoed through the Void. Surging currents of water materialized everywhere, swiftly extinguishing the blood-colored streaks they touched. However, the streaks had already dispersed far apart, and the wide-range attack could only cover a dozen or so of the nearest ones.
“Damn it,” muttered a silver-robed man hovering midair, frowning. “These Destroyer Demons refuse to engage, scattering and fleeing early. Unless we eliminate every last streak, we can’t kill them—and without killing them, we can’t confirm if they carry the remnants of the Cosmic Gods!”
Similar scenes unfolded across the battlefield.
On the side of the cultivators, Chaos Realm experts dispatched avatars to various fronts. The strongest among them, like the Chaos Hall Master, sent multiple avatars.
The Destroyer Demons acted alone. Though individually weak, their ability to split into hundreds of streaks made complete extermination nearly impossible.
…
“Halt.”
Dongbo Xueying, clad in white, stood in the chaotic Void, watching a blood-colored streak streak past. A phantom world descended, freezing the streak in place.
Illusions targeted the soul directly. Even if a Destroyer Demon split into hundreds of streaks, ensnaring one in an illusion meant ensnaring them all—their souls would succumb. These were merely faster-moving cannon fodder. Though Dongbo Xueying was only an avatar, his phantom world was more than sufficient.
“Not this one.” With the demon fully lost in the illusion, Dongbo Xueying effortlessly guided it toward self-destruction, its soul collapsing as the Destroyer Demon perished.
…
“Die.”
Emperor Xinghuo flicked a single crimson flame toward a fleeing streak. Upon contact, the streak shuddered, coalescing into a blood-red Destroyer Demon that writhed in agony, flames burning in its eyes. In the blink of an eye, it was dead.
…
Dealing with these scattered streaks was no easy task.
Among the Chaos Realm elites, only a few dozen could handle them with mere avatars. Cosmic Gods also joined the effort.
Yet many of these Destroyer Demons were at the sixth level of the Star Tower. Dongbo Xueying’s illusions, limited by his avatar, were too weak to subdue the stronger-willed among them. Some even disguised themselves—among them were Golden-Armored Destroyer Demons! Even Emperor Xinghuo and the Heart Image Sect Master, relying solely on avatars, couldn’t kill them.
As for deploying their true bodies?
The Cosmic Gods had issued strict orders—Chaos Realm experts were forbidden from participating in their true forms. Hidden among the cannon fodder was the true main force of the Destroyer Demons, which included Cosmic God-level entities, possibly multiple. Sending their true bodies risked annihilation.
“We’re out of options.”
Clad in white, Dongbo Xueying stood in the Void. The remaining cannon fodder grew fewer but more troublesome.
Especially the dozens of Golden-Armored Destroyer Demons. With their bodies scattered, even Cosmic Gods in their true forms found it difficult to eradicate them all. Only a select few, like the Witch Ancestor and the Radiant Sovereign, had the means to do so.
“BOOM—”
A terrifying tremor rippled through the Void, shaking Dongbo Xueying’s body. He whipped his head toward the source.
In the distance.
A black lightning bolt tore across millions of miles, grotesque and hideous, radiating an aura of pure destruction.
“A Cosmic God-level Destroyer Demon,” Dongbo Xueying instantly realized.
“BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!”
Collisions erupted in the distance.
Dongbo Xueying exhaled in relief. Their Cosmic Gods had finally located the Destroyer Demons’ main force—and the true battle had begun. The enemy’s main force typically consisted of multiple Cosmic Gods. A mere one or two would be swiftly overwhelmed by the cultivators’ combined might. Only with numbers could they stand their ground.
“So strong…”
The distant shockwaves left Dongbo Xueying awestruck.
A dazzling sword-light spanned millions of miles—the final stroke of the *Thirteen Swords of Annihilation*.
A deafening roar sent tremors through Dongbo Xueying’s soul. He knew—even with his proud physical defenses, his true body wouldn’t last a second in that battlefield. The roar’s threat surpassed even the Thirteen Swords.
“Ding-dong~” A melodious tune resonated through the Void.
A colossal avian creature shrieked in fury.
Sinister black chains, writhing like serpents, coiled through space…
“Twelve Cosmic Gods,” Dongbo Xueying noted silently. “Including the Witch Ancestor, the Blade Emperor, and the Realm Ancestor—second only to the Sacred Master. Their combined might rivals even the battle that shattered the Primordial Ancient Sacred World.”
His survival skills were decent, but at best, he could hold his own against third-tier Cosmic Gods. Facing the Witch Ancestor, the Blade Emperor, the Realm Ancestor, or the Radiant Sovereign? He’d be slaughtered. And now, with them fighting in unison, even the residual shockwaves would obliterate him.
…
Void Fortress, Grand Hall.
Dongbo Xueying, Emperor Xinghuo, the Chaos Hall Master, the Heart Image Sect Master, and hundreds of other Chaos Realm experts stood gathered. Even within the fortress, they could sense the distant, cataclysmic battle.
“One-on-one, I might handle a weaker Cosmic God,” the Chaos Hall Master mused, shaking his head. “But the Witch Ancestor and the others—they can stand toe-to-toe with the Sacred Master. Just sensing their power… it extinguishes any thought of resistance.”
“We are, after all, merely in the Chaos Realm,” Emperor Xinghuo remarked.
“The fate of countless cultivators rests in the hands of the Cosmic Gods,” the Heart Image Sect Master added.
Though they spoke, each secretly yearned to ascend to that pinnacle.
Dongbo Xueying stood silently, observing the battle through the apertures of his Black Mist Sphere. The battlefield’s core was too distorted to perceive clearly, but from afar, the most dazzling figure was the Witch Ancestor—his nine terrifying avatars wreaking havoc, his true body unleashing earth-shaking roars.
The Realm Ancestor, in contrast, was lean and wiry, often seizing scales and flesh to devour raw.
The Radiant Sovereign fought with grace, plucking an ethereal zither, its melodies echoing through the Void…
By all appearances, the cultivators held absolute dominance, overwhelming the Destroyer Demons. Occasionally, malevolent lightning lashed out, or venomous serpents lunged at the Cosmic Gods—only to be snatched and consumed by the Witch Ancestor’s avatars.
