Chapter 779: Departure

The twentieth layer of the Walker’s Secret Vault made Dongbo Xueying’s Voidwalking already incredibly formidable, allowing him to silently traverse to an enemy’s side. Combined with the concealment of the Void World, it became even more terrifying—at least the “Hundred-Headed Roar” truly failed to detect him.

A silver spear suddenly emerged from the void, thrusting toward one of the Hundred-Headed Roar’s single-eyed heads. The spear was like a blurry shadow, too fast and too sudden! Yet, as a Void God, the Hundred-Headed Roar instinctively moved its head, causing the spear that was originally aimed at its eye to instead strike its face.

Its skin was extraordinarily tough, naturally covered in countless fine patterns, making Dongbo Xueying feel as though his spear had struck nothingness, with chaotic forces guiding the impact away.

*Thud.* The spear pierced slightly into its face, barely breaking the skin. As the spear was withdrawn, black blood splattered.

*”ROOOAR—!”* The Hundred-Headed Roar grew even more furious, its hundred gaping maws spewing poisonous mist. The mist merged with the surrounding dark domain, wildly corroding and annihilating everything. Even the distant disguised avatar couldn’t withstand it, dissolving into nothingness. The power of the domain even invaded the Void World.

*”Although the leap from True God to Void God is a major boundary, my twentieth-layer Walker’s Secret Vault grants me strength capable of threatening a Void God’s life. That first spear was merely to gauge its power—I didn’t use a killing move. But even if I had, at most, I’d only wound it.”* Within the Void World, Dongbo Xueying observed the Hundred-Headed Roar and shook his head inwardly. *”The intel was accurate. Though this beast is foolish, to kill it, I must lure it into expending more poison mist, weakening it… Only then can I hope to destroy all its heads.”*

The way to kill the Hundred-Headed Roar was to annihilate every single head!

This was already considered relatively simple. Some powerful Void Gods, like the ‘Bloodblade Divine Emperor,’ who specialized in the ‘Witch’ system of studying all things, could modify their bodies to become incredibly resilient, practically indestructible. Their survival capabilities far surpassed the Hundred-Headed Roar’s.

The world was shrouded in darkness, poison permeating every corner.

The Hundred-Headed Roar hovered midair, its countless tentacles sprawling everywhere, its hundred heads scanning all directions—yet it no longer spewed poison.

Dongbo Xueying appeared.

His body flickered in and out of visibility as he felt the terrifying oppressive force of the dark domain outside. This pressure alone could crush Qing Jun and the Hell Dominator to death! After all, their bodies were weaker than even the eleventh layer of the Walker’s Secret Vault.

*”Is this all you’ve got? You think you can kill me with this?”* Dongbo Xueying laughed loudly. Instantly, countless crimson ripples manifested around him.

The ripples spread outward, each one like a razor-thin thread, countless crimson strands interweaving into a unified force that surged in all directions.

**Domain of Slaughter!**

His ‘Path of Slaughter’ and ‘Path of Fluctuation’ had long reached the Dominator level. Moreover, after studying the Chaos-level ultimate technique *Shadowless Heaven’s Net*, he had incorporated some of its fluctuation applications into the Domain of Slaughter, drastically amplifying its power.

Though the Domain of Slaughter struggled to expand, it remained fragmented under the suppression of the dark domain.

*”Void!”*

Dongbo Xueying then manipulated the power of the void—his twentieth-layer void control was equally terrifying.

*BOOM!!!*

The void force merged seamlessly with the Domain of Slaughter, crushing outward in a devastating surge.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

The crimson ripple domain fought desperately to expand, but the dark domain continuously suppressed it, limiting its range to barely a hundred miles—unable to push further.

*”I didn’t expect that even with the combined might of the Domain of Slaughter and void power, I’d still be at a disadvantage in a domain clash.”* Dongbo Xueying mused. *”The gap between a Dominator and a Void God is simply too vast.”*

The white-haired elder observing the battle was astonished. A Dominator could actually contend with a Void God in a domain clash—even if it was a weaker Void God, this was still extraordinary.

*”DIE!”* The Hundred-Headed Roar roared in an unknown tongue, yet Dongbo Xueying understood its meaning perfectly. The beast continued spewing poison mist, merging it with the dark void, amplifying its ferocity. A sinister *hiss-hiss-hiss* sound echoed as the mist corroded Dongbo Xueying’s Domain of Slaughter.

*”The poison can erode my domain?”* Dongbo Xueying grew wary.

*”These tricks won’t work on me!”* He laughed mockingly, taunting the beast.

When the Hundred-Headed Roar lunged at him like a phantom, its countless tentacles striking out, Dongbo Xueying relied on the Void World and spatial shifting to evade. He provoked it repeatedly, ensuring the beast could never touch him. Occasionally, he even sent out avatars to ambush it! He hurled hidden projectiles! Even his true body launched surprise attacks!

Yet, each strike was deliberately restrained to prevent the beast from growing cautious.

These attacks barely scratched the Hundred-Headed Roar, but they were enough to enrage it further. This puny Dominator was too slippery to catch! Frustrated, it spewed even more poison mist, attempting to trap its foe within the domain.

The white-haired elder watched the entire battle unfold. As the Hundred-Headed Roar weakened from expending too much poison, Dongbo Xueying—who had been holding back—finally confirmed he could kill it. Only then did he unleash his full strength, executing *Storm of the Dao*, his attacks now significantly more devastating.

With terrifying close-quarters combat, he successfully beheaded one of the beast’s heads. Only then did the Hundred-Headed Roar snap to attention.

*This damned Dominator was hiding his power!*

Now, its countless tentacles frantically defended, fighting with everything it had. Yet Dongbo Xueying’s evasion was too masterful. Though beheading became more difficult, with enough time, he could still do it. One by one, through relentless ambushes, he painstakingly severed each head. When the last of the hundred heads fell, the beast’s corpse plummeted from the sky. Dongbo Xueying finally exhaled in relief.

The battle had lasted two full days—ninety percent of that time spent decapitating each head, as each one took considerable effort to destroy.

*”You’ve won.”* The white-haired elder smiled at Dongbo Xueying. *”But you must realize, if not for my master’s command forcing this puppet to fight you to the death, luring it into expending so much poison would have been far harder in a real battle. And if it sensed danger, it would have fled long ago. This space is too confined for escape.”*

*”I understand.”* Dongbo Xueying nodded.

This was a trial.

The puppet had been ordered to kill any Dominator attempting the challenge—hence why it was so easily baited into expending poison.

*”Thankfully, I had prior intel. Otherwise, victory would have been even harder—and this was just a weaker Void God.”* Dongbo Xueying now had a clearer measure of himself. *”Still, a Void God is a Void God. To reach this level means I now possess the strength to fight beyond my tier! But to match the Golden-Robed Disciples of the Sevenstar Sea Sacred World, I must improve further.”*

Even with his dual cultivation in the Voidwalker lineage, passing this trial had been a struggle. He couldn’t afford to underestimate other cultivators.

At the center stood a thatched hut.

*”That was where the Ancestor once resided for a long time. Only those who pass the trial as a Dominator may enter.”* The white-haired elder explained.

*”Mm.”* Dongbo Xueying pushed open the wooden door and stepped inside.

He remained inside for a long while before emerging—now clad in golden robes, though his eyes betrayed a hint of disappointment.

The benefits of being a Golden-Robed Disciple were immense! It broadened his horizons immensely. The care and resources devoted to Golden-Robed Disciples… rivaled even the attention Voidwalker Gu Qi lavished on his inheritors. After all, Gu Qi was a lone wanderer, untrained in teaching. The Tai Void Heavenly Palace was far more comprehensive.

*”A pity… nothing here can help Jing Qiu or Yu’er.”* That was the source of his disappointment. Then again, it made sense—the Tai Void Heavenly Palace’s rewards were meant to aid Golden-Robed Disciples. Why would they assist a mere Four-Heavens World Deity in achieving transcendence?

*”What kind of Void God weapon do you require?”* The white-haired elder smiled.

*”A spear.”*

*”There are only two spears here. I’ll fetch them for you to choose.”*

Dongbo Xueying nodded.

Weapons were external tools. The true treasure lay within the thatched hut—and he had already obtained it.

**Black Fog Sea, Dongbo Imperial Manor.**

Very few knew of his departure from the universe. Even close friends like Chi Qiu Bai, Huo Chen the Revered, Senior Brother Hui Ming, and Patriarch Redflame were only told: *”I have urgent matters requiring a long journey. I won’t return for some time.”* As for where he was going, he said nothing.

But he told his wife and children.

The family of four strolled through the manor grounds. When Dongbo Xueying revealed his plan to leave the universe, his son, Dongbo Yu, had vehemently opposed it: *”I can transcend on my own, Father! You don’t need to risk your life out there!”*

Even Yu Jing Qiu had initially objected: *”Xueying, we’ve spent countless years together. Even if I die in the end, I’ll have no regrets. Don’t throw yourself into danger for my sake.”*

But Dongbo Xueying remained unmoved.

Jing Qiu and Yu’er could face death calmly, unwilling to let him take risks.

How could he stand by and do nothing while they perished? He couldn’t!

Knowing Dongbo Xueying’s stubborn nature, Yu Jing Qiu and Dongbo Yu eventually relented, cherishing their remaining time together.

*”I’ll return before this cosmic epoch ends.”* Dongbo Xueying smiled.

Yu Jing Qiu, Dongbo Yu, and Dongbo Qing Yao were still worried.

The outside world was far more perilous.

*”I’m a Golden-Robed Disciple of the Tai Void Heavenly Palace. I won’t die so easily.”* He chuckled. He had told his family of the palace’s existence but sworn them to secrecy.

*”Alright. It’s time.”*

At that moment, two more figures appeared—his other bodies. The three merged into one.

Beyond the universe, without its protection, one faced the tempering of the Chaos Void’s laws. Only those with perfected lifeforms could survive in the Chaos Void. That was why Bone Qian Luo’s death had been absolute—why he had been so desperate back then.

*Whoosh.*

With a single step, he appeared high above the Dongbo Imperial Manor.

Yu Jing Qiu, Dongbo Yu, and Dongbo Qing Yao looked up. Another figure materialized nearby—Bloodblade the Divine Emperor, who had been waiting.

*”Xueying, be careful out there. Leave the universe’s affairs to me.”* Bloodblade knew the route to the Sevenstar Sea Sacred World—knew how distant and treacherous the journey was. Yet knowing his disciple was now a Golden-Robed Disciple gave him some confidence.

*”Mm.”*

Dongbo Xueying waved a hand, tearing open a rift in space. Beyond it lay the boundless, infinite Chaos Void.

He turned back, gazing at his wife, son, and daughter. He had left them everything he could.

*”I will return.”* He silently vowed, then smiled at his family.

*Swoosh.*

He soared through the cosmic membrane’s rift, vanishing into the vast Chaos Void.

Bloodblade’s eyes widened slightly. *”He entered the Chaos Void with his physical body? Normally, only Void Gods can do that… Yet a Dominator managed it? My disciple’s fortunes are truly extraordinary.”*

As Dongbo Xueying disappeared into the endless void, the cosmic membrane slowly healed behind him.

Yu Jing Qiu, Dongbo Yu, and Dongbo Qing Yao stared upward. Tears welled in Yu Jing Qiu’s eyes.

Deep down, she feared—feared he might never return.

*”I’ll wait… for you to come home.”* She whispered silently.
