Chapter 573: Escape Plan

Dongbo Xueying relied on his overwhelming strength to forcefully pilot the Starfield Ark into the fortieth layer of the Abyss.

Like a savage giant bear, he pressed forward relentlessly. The five Abyssal Monarchs, though skilled hunters, could only slightly slow his advance.

“Dongbo Xueying!”

“Dongbo Xueying, how dare you dive deeper into the Abyss?”

Figures rapidly closed in from all directions.

With a brief sweep of his senses, Dongbo Xueying confirmed that there were now eleven Abyssal Monarchs in the fortieth layer—some chasing from the upper layers, others blocking his path from the deeper ones.

“The longer I delay, the more enemies will gather. Though my *Annihilation Primordial Body* grants me near-invincible defense, that’s only relative to ordinary Paragons. If the enemies are too strong, even this armor might not hold.” Dongbo Xueying knew his limits. As a mere Three Heavens Realm God, he was the weakest in terms of defense among the Destroyer Legion soldiers.

“My only chance lies there.”

Even as he fought fiercely against the besieging Monarchs, his gaze locked onto a distant, colossal structure.

It was a peculiar, massive mountain range.

Three enormous demonic skull entrances loomed from different directions, each towering trillions of miles high, nearly scraping the highest reaches of the Abyssal sky. Their gaping mouths, nostrils, eyes, and ears all served as entry points into the mountain.

This was the ancient relic that had survived the destruction of the cosmos—the **Tri-Headed Divine Mountain**!

“Tri-Headed Divine Mountain… Whether I live or die depends on this final gamble.” Hope flickered in Dongbo Xueying’s eyes.

Why hadn’t he fled outward?

Why plunge deeper instead?

The answer was simple—the Tri-Headed Divine Mountain.

Dongbo Xueying understood that once the Abyss’s will rejected him, guiding its strongest to hunt him, escape would be near impossible. Even if they didn’t fight to the death, fleeing from the thirty-seventh layer outward—through the thirty-sixth, thirty-fifth, and beyond—would be suicidal. Just the **White Monarch** alone could crush him effortlessly.

And beyond the White Monarch, there was **Lord Luo**, who, though not a Dominator, could survive against one and wield terrifying killing techniques—likely surpassing even the Nine Suns Palace Master and the Purple-Robed Witch Emperor.

Such beings could annihilate him with ease.

Escaping outward meant facing these two, not to mention countless other dangers across thirty-plus Abyssal layers.

Even without the *Blood Devil Scripture (Upper Scroll)*, Dongbo Xueying knew his sole lifeline was the Tri-Headed Divine Mountain.

First, it was close—located in the fortieth layer, just three layers below his starting point.

Second, as an ancient relic, even Paragons wouldn’t dare charge in recklessly. Unlike the open Abyss, where they could hunt freely, the mountain’s dangers would force them to tread carefully. With his survival skills, he stood a chance inside.

“If not for the *Blood Devil Scripture*, the pursuit wouldn’t be this frenzied. I’d have reached the mountain easily by now.” Dongbo Xueying sighed. The scripture had turned his escape from the thirty-seventh to the fortieth layer into a desperate battle against overwhelming odds.

“Whoosh—”

The Starfield Ark tore through space as Dongbo Xueying raced toward the mountain.

The Tri-Headed Divine Mountain was unimaginably vast—its three demonic skulls alone spanned trillions of miles, occupying nearly half the layer. He aimed for the nearest entrance, one of the skull’s gaping orifices.

“Stop him!”

“Block his path!”

Abyssal Monarchs, still trillions of miles away, barked frantic orders.

At their level, every moment brought new variables.

Though eleven Monarchs had gathered in this layer, only seven could engage him directly—three of whom were Paragons, albeit ordinary ones. For now, Dongbo Xueying held his ground.

“Move!” With the entrance just over a hundred billion miles away, he prioritized speed, even taking hits to save time.

Finally—

**Swoosh!**

Like a phantom, the Starfield Ark shot into one of the mountain’s entrances—a goat-like demon skull’s ear, its cavernous passage hundreds of billions of miles wide, lined with colossal hairs like ancient trees.

“After him!” The pursuing Monarchs entered the ear’s range—only to find their powers suppressed.

No domains.

No world energy manipulation.

No spatial traversal.

Their speed plummeted. Ancient relics like this imposed severe restrictions; some even altered fundamental laws. Rumor had it that parts of the Heartlake Island’s depths were similarly oppressive. Dongbo Xueying had only explored the Destroyer’s Cave there, a unique zone.

Even the depths of the **Bloodfire Gate** held mysteries—but he’d never dared enter. Saving his wife had been his sole focus, though he knew venturing deeper would have been a death sentence.

The **White Monarch**, clad in silver-white armor and breathtakingly handsome, strode through the void.

Layer twenty-five. Twenty-six. Twenty-seven. Twenty-eight… His speed surpassed even the Starfield Ark’s, yet he still had to traverse each layer sequentially.

“My path excels in combat, not travel.” He shook his head slightly. Even so, his spatial traversal outpaced most Paragons.

“Report: Dongbo Xueying’s defense is near-impenetrable. His strength is monstrous. We can only marginally slow him.”

“Report: He’s reached the fortieth layer.”

“Report: He’s charging toward the Tri-Headed Divine Mountain.”

“We can’t intercept him in time.”

“He’s beyond stopping.”

With three entrances, Dongbo Xueying had chosen the nearest. By the time he vanished into the goat-skull’s ear, the White Monarch had just arrived at the thirty-fifth layer.

“This ‘Lord Dongbo’ knows his limits. From the start, he aimed for the fortieth layer—clearly aware that the mountain is his only hope.” The White Monarch smirked. “Yet those fools couldn’t stop a mere Three Heavens Realm God.”

“To rescue Flamefiend Dominator…”

“Is this the power of a Destroyer Legion soldier? At just three heavens?” He’d once attempted to join the legion himself but failed. By then, he was already Dominator-tier—the trials scaled to absurd heights.

“But does he truly think hiding in the mountain will save him?” The White Monarch’s lips curled.

**Inside the Tri-Headed Divine Mountain**

As Dongbo Xueying flew deeper through the ear’s cavernous passage, he remained vigilant. Suddenly, his expression shifted.

The dark-red, razor-sharp fragment in his storage bracelet was trembling—as if summoned by an unseen force.

“The fragment… is being called?” He was stunned.

He’d found the fragment in the Heartlake Island, among the relics of an ice-sealed Dominator’s corpse. Even its original owner, despite recognizing its rarity, hadn’t uncovered its purpose.

Dongbo Xueying had studied it briefly before stashing it away, forgotten—until now.

Yet here, in the Tri-Headed Divine Mountain, it resonated with an invisible pull.
