The Bloodblade Divine Court.
Across the countless stars of its vast dominion, the Divine Court ensures that all lifeforms worship certain powerful deities. Sacred idols and other artifacts capable of gathering faith power are placed upon these stars. The lower-tier factions are then tasked with collecting and offering this faith power. Since the legions themselves cannot infiltrate every single star—lacking sufficient manpower for constant control—the task of thorough planetary infiltration falls to the various Realmgod factions. They shoulder the laborious duty of gathering faith power, an incredibly tedious endeavor.
Many who covet faith power dare to infiltrate stars and steal it outright!
To ascend as Realmgods, those at the late or peak Deity level are willing to take such risks. Thus, absolute control over each star is necessary to prevent faith theft.
Take the Xia Clan World, for example. Once Dongbo Xueying mastered the Void World Heart, he severed the transmission of faith power between the Xia Clan World and the outside. This alarmed the Realmgod of the Earth Shrine so much that he personally descended with an avatar, all to reclaim the faith power.
Faith power…
It is more precious than divine crystals! Except for rare cases like Dongbo Xueying—who aims to become a Paragon and thus refuses to absorb faith power—almost all Realmgods rely on it. Faith power drastically accelerates their cultivation. Had Dongbo Xueying used it, he might have long completed the fourth revolution of the second chapter of *Taihao* and possibly even ascended to a Three Heavens Realmgod.
Faith power induces a qualitative transformation in cultivation.
“The Ten Thousand Abyss, thirty-two starfields? And the faith power gathered is this meager?” Dongbo Xueying scoffed.
“It’s recorded here,” Army Commander Mo quickly added. “Those thirty-two starfields are frequently raided by deities stealing faith power. Large-scale wars have even broken out, causing populations to plummet.”
Dongbo Xueying marveled, “The regions under the Ten Thousand Abyss’ control seem plagued by misfortune. Army Commander Mo, have you investigated? Are their reports accurate?”
“This…” Army Commander Mo sighed helplessly. “The eastern domain of Anhai Prefecture is vast beyond measure, with countless stars. How could we inspect each one? Time-reversal investigations for every case? It’s simply impractical! Rest assured, the records include which stars’ faith power was collected by whom. There are lists!”
Dongbo Xueying sneered.
The Divine Emperor governs the Divine Court’s hierarchy with relative laxity.
Yet, few factions dare to be as brazen as the Ten Thousand Abyss. Most wouldn’t dare push their luck so far. The Ten Thousand Abyss, emboldened by Ying Guliang’s influence within the Divine Court, has exploited Army Commander Mo’s willful blindness, resulting in significantly reduced faith offerings.
“Fine, I’ll take these for now,” Dongbo Xueying said. “No objections?”
“Of course not,” Army Commander Mo hastily replied.
“Let’s move!” Dongbo Xueying waved his hand, collecting the wooden chests before striding out of the hall. A massive, deep-blue vessel materialized midair, and Dongbo Xueying, along with his formidable retinue, boarded the starfield ship.
*Whoosh!*
The starfield vessel swiftly departed, vanishing beyond the horizon.
Army Commander Mo watched from afar.
“Commander, is His Highness Dongbo targeting the faith power?” a bearded elder beside him asked.
“Over the eons, the Venomous Ying Realmgod and Ying Guliang have embezzled faith stones worth at least eight hundred million divine crystals,” Army Commander Mo scoffed. “Though Ying Guliang likely had to bribe officials within the Bloodblade Divine Court, the siblings probably kept five hundred million for themselves.”
“I’m no match for them, but His Highness Dongbo… tsk tsk. With the Emperor backing him, he has the ultimate advantage,” Army Commander Mo mused. “This will be interesting.”
—
The starfield vessel traversed the spatial tunnel, heading toward the Ten Thousand Abyss.
The Ten Thousand Abyss—a colossal mountain spanning billions of miles in the starry void, shrouded in rolling black mist, teeming with venomous serpents. Countless deities dwell here, including numerous Realmgods, five of whom are Two Heavens Realmgods. Many specialize in witchcraft and poison, as the Venomous Ying Realmgod reigns supreme in these arts across Anhai Prefecture. The Ten Thousand Abyss is a haven for toxins, the ideal place for such research.
“Look!”
“A starfield vessel!”
“Quick, inform the master!”
Hierarchy within the Ten Thousand Abyss was strict. The Venomous Ying Realmgod emerged from a grand hall, accompanied by a diminutive comrade and trailed by a host of Two Heavens Realmgods and lesser Realmgods. Behind them swarmed over a hundred million deities—a testament to the Ten Thousand Abyss’ might.
The Venomous Ying Realmgod smirked coldly as the massive starfield vessel tore through the void, approaching. Ranks of azure-armored soldiers stood upon its deck, each exuding formidable auras—threshold Realmgod strength at minimum.
Though numbering only two thousand, their collective presence eclipsed the hundred million deities below.
This was the difference between the Divine Court’s legions and mere rabble.
*Whoosh—*
The azure-armored soldiers swiftly disembarked, forming ranks in the void as the starfield vessel vanished.
Dongbo Xueying took the lead, flanked by Yu Jingqiu, Dongbo Yu, Dongbo Qingyao, and Xi Wei.
“To what do I owe the pleasure, Inspector?” the Venomous Ying Realmgod sneered. “I am in the midst of critical cultivation. Unless this is urgent, I shan’t entertain you further.”
“Venomous Ying,” Dongbo Xueying barked, “my inspection of faith power collection has revealed suspiciously low contributions from the Ten Thousand Abyss. I demand custody of all personnel responsible for gathering faith power across your stars. They will be interrogated.”
“They’re dead,” the Venomous Ying Realmgod said dismissively.
“All of them?” Dongbo Xueying frowned. “Across thirty-two starfields, countless stars, a hundred million deities tasked with collection over the last eon—all dead?”
“Dead,” she sighed. “My poison research… accidents happen. Casualties were inevitable. What can I do?”
Handing over collectors was impossible.
Even one interrogation—let alone time-reversal verification—would expose the truth. None could be surrendered.
Dongbo Xueying’s laughter was icy. “A hundred million collectors, all dead simultaneously? A miracle indeed. You may believe it, but neither I nor the Divine Court’s officials will.”
“Believe what you will. It’s the truth,” she retorted. “Search the Ten Thousand Abyss if you doubt me.”
“A hundred million, wiped out by sheer coincidence?” Dongbo Xueying’s voice hardened. “Given the absurdity of your claim, I have no choice but to detain you for Divine Court interrogation. By my order—Commander Baili, arrest the Venomous Ying Realmgod and escort her to the Divine Court! All deities of the Ten Thousand Abyss are to stand down. Resistance is treason—punishable by death!”
“As you command!” Commander Baili Shang roared, his soldiers’ eyes alight with battle fervor.
This was their first mission as the personal guard.
