Dongbo Xueying emerged from his meditation chamber and soon spotted the Seventh Plum Rain standing in the courtyard.
The Seventh Plum Rain remained the same handsome youth in white robes. He turned his head and smiled, saying, “Brother Dongbo, my father wishes to meet you.”
“Your father?” Dongbo Xueying was startled. “May I ask who—”
“My father is Emperor Mo Xue,” the Seventh Plum Rain replied without hesitation.
“Emperor Mo Xue?”
Dongbo Xueying suddenly understood. He had previously wondered why Emperor Mo Xue had come to observe the selection battles in Anhai Domain. It turned out his child was participating. However, he had heard that Emperor Mo Xue had six daughters! The Seventh Plum Rain was only at the Deity level, clearly much younger. Could it be that Emperor Mo Xue had finally had a son?
Beside him, Jing Qiu was also surprised. “Emperor Mo Xue wants to see Xueying?”
“Yes,” the Seventh Plum Rain nodded. “My father is currently at my residence. Brother Dongbo, let’s head over now.”
“Jing Qiu, I’ll go ahead,” Dongbo Xueying said. Since Emperor Mo Xue had summoned him, he couldn’t afford to be negligent.
Jing Qiu nodded lightly, watching as Dongbo Xueying and the Seventh Plum Rain departed.
—
In the main hall of the Seventh Plum Rain’s residence, Emperor Mo Xue sat cross-legged in the seat of honor. As soon as Dongbo Xueying entered, he bowed respectfully. “This junior, Dongbo, pays his respects to Your Majesty.”
“Take a seat,” Emperor Mo Xue said with a faint smile.
Dongbo Xueying carefully sat behind a side table, while the Seventh Plum Rain took a seat opposite him. The hall was occupied only by Emperor Mo Xue, Dongbo, the Seventh Plum Rain, and a few attendants.
“I’ve watched your battles,” Emperor Mo Xue began. “Your potential is decent, but you’ve taken many detours—some mistakes are even laughable. You’ve never received guidance from a mighty figure, have you? Not even from a Four Heavens Realm God?”
A Four Heavens Realm God was only one step away from becoming a mighty figure. Their understanding of the laws of the universe was already incredibly close to that of true powerhouses.
“That’s correct. This junior has been cultivating through self-exploration,” Dongbo Xueying replied respectfully.
“No wonder. Let’s talk about your secret technique derived from the Starheart.” Emperor Mo Xue casually pointed, and a spear materialized mid-air, executing the move ‘Chaotic Annihilation.’ At his level, Emperor Mo Xue had long mastered the Chaosheart, so replicating this technique was effortless. “Look at this technique of yours…”
From the very start, Emperor Mo Xue began offering guidance.
This left Dongbo Xueying inwardly puzzled. Why was Emperor Mo Xue treating him so kindly? Did he see potential in him? But in the eyes of others, he wasn’t a Paragon of a First-Class True Intent. The path to becoming a Three or Four Heavens Realm God would take who knew how long!
Despite his doubts, Dongbo Xueying listened attentively. After all, such guidance was exceedingly rare.
This session of instruction lasted a full two days.
The Seventh Plum Rain remained seated nearby, sipping fruit wine and observing calmly.
Emperor Mo Xue, on the other hand, was thoroughly enjoying himself. Dongbo Xueying frequently raised questions, and from these, Emperor Mo Xue could sense that his comprehension was indeed extraordinary.
“Alright, let’s stop here,” Emperor Mo Xue finally said.
Dongbo Xueying reluctantly ceased his inquiries. After two days of instruction, the initial formality had faded, and though they weren’t master and disciple in name, there was now a semblance of that relationship. Even inner disciples of mighty figures rarely received such dedicated guidance. These two days of instruction surpassed what many inner disciples received in their entire lifetimes.
“Senior, why have you treated me so…” Dongbo Xueying couldn’t help but ask.
“To forge a karmic bond,” Emperor Mo Xue smiled faintly. “In three years, you’ll head to the Divine Court. By then, many mighty figures will likely be willing to take you as a disciple. Have you thought about who you’d choose?”
“Of course, the stronger the master, the better,” Dongbo Xueying answered honestly. “If I could study under His Majesty, that would be ideal. Being accepted by one of the Three Ancestors would also be incredible luck. If neither works out, I’ll choose someone suitable.”
Emperor Mo Xue nodded. “His Majesty hasn’t taken disciples in a long time. Even a First-Class True Intent Paragon wouldn’t necessarily catch his attention. As for the Three Ancestors… you have some hope. Let me advise you—among them, the best choice is the Bamboo Mountain Pavilion Master, followed by the Monarch of Destruction, and lastly, Pang Yi.”
“The Bamboo Mountain Pavilion Master is the best?” Dongbo Xueying was surprised. “Isn’t he a Four Heavens Realm God?”
“Have you ever heard of a Four Heavens Realm God who has lived for over five hundred billion years?” Emperor Mo Xue shook his head, his voice lowering. “What I tell you must not be spread.”
“Understood,” Dongbo Xueying nodded.
“The Bamboo Mountain Pavilion Master appears to be a Four Heavens Realm God, but in truth, he can no longer be considered a Realm God,” Emperor Mo Xue said, his gaze complex.
“Not a Realm God?” Dongbo Xueying was puzzled.
“That old fellow has always refused to pass down his ultimate techniques. If I had learned them…” Emperor Mo Xue muttered, his eyes flashing with unwillingness before he grinned. “Never mind. Just know that becoming his disciple is absolutely the right choice. If he’s willing to accept you, don’t hesitate. If your potential is truly high and he values you, teaching you that ultimate technique… you’ll have to thank me properly then.”
“This junior understands,” Dongbo Xueying nodded.
“If none of the Three Ancestors invite you, then choose as you see fit among the others,” Emperor Mo Xue said.
—
After their conversation, Dongbo Xueying returned to his residence. The days that followed were spent in long-term seclusion and cultivation. The guidance he had received was immensely beneficial.
Emperor Mo Xue’s instruction had primarily focused on the Starheart.
As for the Voidheart? His advice had been simple—to temporarily abandon research on the “Void Body” and instead delve deeper into the aspects of domains.
—
Time flowed swiftly.
Three years passed in the blink of an eye.
A luxurious starfield airship departed from Anhai Domain, personally piloted by the Anhai Domain Lord, carrying Dongbo Xueying and a large group of others.
“Traveling by starfield airship is truly comfortable,” Dongbo Xueying remarked as he stood on the deck, gazing at the radiant spacetime tunnel around them. Beside him, Jing Qiu, Zi Lei, and the other Xia Clan deities marveled at the sight. The other top hundred Deity-level experts, along with their attendants, were also observing the spectacle.
“Using spatial teleportation arrays feels like being trapped in a swamp—utterly unpleasant,” Zi Lei remarked in admiration. “But traveling by starfield airship is far more comfortable.”
The surroundings were a dazzling spacetime tunnel, and the great vessel soared through it.
This flight lasted the time it took to drink a cup of tea.
The distance from Anhai Domain to the Divine Court was vast. Even via spatial teleportation arrays, it would take the same amount of time—an agonizing experience akin to being squeezed through mud. Those of sufficient status and strength, such as Three Heavens Realm Gods, typically possessed their own starfield airships.
“We’ve arrived!”
The radiant spacetime tunnel suddenly opened to an exit, and the airship emerged in an instant.
“This is the Divine Court?” Dongbo Xueying and the others gasped in awe at the breathtaking scene before them.
—
“The Divine Court’s Myriad Flowers Banquet?” A withered-wood airship also arrived at the Divine Court. On its deck stood a white-robed, bald youth whose eyes seemed to contain infinite worlds. A faint smile played on his lips. “I heard my junior brother Dongbo is participating this time and made quite a splash in Anhai Domain? As his senior brother, I must see this for myself.”
—
A fiery-red vessel, wreathed in flickering flames, also traversed the spacetime tunnel, arriving in the starry void outside the Divine Court.
The ship vanished, revealing a white-haired elder with a youthful face—the Scarletflame Ancestor. “I encouraged Dongbo to participate, but I never expected him to shine so brightly.”
In this edition of the Divine Court’s Myriad Flowers Banquet, Dongbo Xueying’s potential ranked easily within the top three.
—
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
As the grand banquet approached its commencement, the invited Four Heavens Realm Gods and mighty figures—many from beyond the Bloodblade Divine Court’s territory, even some from the Dark Abyss—began arriving. Ancient, reclusive beings of immense power from across the Divine Realm also made their appearances.
So long as there was no enmity, none would refuse to honor the Bloodblade Divine Emperor’s invitation.
