Chapter 284: Demise

In the Void Realm.

A ghostly figure was speeding through at an incredible velocity. His speed was so immense that each flicker of movement transported him thousands of miles away—undeniably the fastest among the Xia Clan’s Transcendents. As he moved at such blistering speeds, his form occasionally slipped into the Real World, pausing briefly before returning once more to the Void Realm to continue his journey.

This figure appeared as a frail, white-robed youth—Dongbo Xueying, who was currently searching for the Dark Abyss team.

“You might not be killable, but I still have to try. Perhaps I can slay you after all, right?” Dongbo Xueying murmured silently. “Even if I can’t kill you now, once I enter the Red Stone Mountain, I will find my chance.”

He had entered the Real World moments ago to communicate through his message bracelet. After all, many of the Xia Clan’s Demigods were currently searching for this team. If someone else found them first, there would be no need for him to waste his time.

Yet when it came to search efficiency, Dongbo Xueying—who could instantly scan an area spanning ten thousand miles—was undoubtedly the most effective among the Xia Clan.

Clearly…

A century had passed, and Dongbo Xueying was no longer the same youth he once was.

At this moment, while the Xia Clan’s Demigods, including Dongbo Xueying, were searching for the Dark Abyss team and the enemy known as “Nuo Nuo An,” none of them could have imagined that this very team had already arrived at the Black and White Divine Mountain.

High above, a pitch-black, shadowy passage appeared.

From it emerged three figures.

Leading them was a barefoot youth with dark skin, wrapped in white cloth. On his left and right were the black-robed Nuo Nuo An and General Kumen.

“All things in the Material World are so refined and beautiful. Look at this Black and White Divine Mountain—it’s so elegant. Unlike our Dark Abyss, which is crude and savage, only knowing slaughter, never appreciating the beauty of all things,” the dark-skinned youth said, his voice carrying a strange rhythm that brought calmness to the listener’s heart, even stirring an involuntary urge to kneel and follow.

“The souls in the Material World are so delicious. No wonder even the Demon Gods favor them,” the dark-skinned youth chuckled. “After we leave the Red Stone Mountain, we must bring back more human souls.”

“Rest assured, Lord. We will slaughter this mortal world and take all the human souls with us,” Nuo Nuo An quickly replied.

“We must leave some behind, though. We need to preserve a few seeds,” the dark-skinned youth said, gazing at the Black and White Divine Mountain. “They’ve come out.”

Far away.

Outside a grand hall of the Black and White Divine Mountain, four figures appeared—Mountain Master He, Deputy Mountain Master Zang Nuo, the Ghost Knight Feng Dong, and Palace Master Chen. Palace Master Chen had come in person to investigate the details of the previous battle.

They had come out because they sensed spatial fluctuations in the outside world.

Feng Dong, the Ghost Knight, coldly stared into the distance. Suddenly, his pupils constricted. He fixed his gaze on the black-robed figure—the emaciated face resembling a skeleton, the glowing green eyes. The face matched exactly with the phantom image of the “Lord Nuo Nuo An” he had seen before.

“Mountain Master He, Palace Master Chen, Zang Nuo Deputy Mountain Master—the black-robed one is Nuo Nuo An!” Feng Dong urgently transmitted his voice.

“Yes, it’s him.”

“It’s definitely him!”

Mountain Master He and his companions had previously observed Feng Dong’s demonstration of the scene, witnessing the spectral visage of Nuo Nuo An within the training scenario.

“Daring to come directly to the Black and White Divine Mountain!” Feng Dong growled in anger.

“Not yet,” Mountain Master He quickly transmitted.

“Wait. They must have confidence to come here. Besides, our forces at the Black and White Divine Mountain are insufficient. I will immediately summon the Ding Jiu Warship from the Xihuo Palace,” Palace Master Chen also transmitted. Small impatience could ruin great plans. As Demigods of the Xia Clan, they still had the patience for this.

In the distant sky.

Three figures stood there, seemingly ordinary.

The barefoot, dark-skinned youth wrapped in white cloth smiled and said, “I didn’t expect to meet Mountain Master He and Palace Master Chen here. This is wonderful. Allow me to introduce myself—I am You Lan, and you may address me as Lord You Lan.”

“Lord?” Palace Master Chen, Mountain Master He, and the others at the front of the hall felt puzzled. They knew very little about the Dark Abyss. Normally, the Xia Clan’s divine ancestors ascended to the Divine Realm. Although historically six had entered the Dark Abyss, they were all traitors who had joined the Demon God Assembly, severing all ties with the Xia Clan.

Therefore, their knowledge of the Dark Abyss was minimal. Yet even with their limited understanding, they knew that only Demon Gods could hold the title of “Lord.”

“Although I was forced to come to the Xia Clan’s world, the deliciousness of human souls still delights me,” Lord You Lan smiled. “But I didn’t expect that merely sending my servants to collect some mortal souls—without targeting your Xia Clan’s Transcendents—your Xia Clan’s Transcendents would dare to kill my servants.”

He spoke with a smile, causing Palace Master Chen and the others to feel their anger rising.

“You say you killed my servants and offended me. How do you intend to atone?” Lord You Lan asked.

“Atone? Lord You Lan, you ordered your servants to kill countless of our people, and now you dare to demand we atone? Do you really think the Xia Clan is so easily bullied?” Palace Master Chen snorted angrily.

“Even before me, Palace Master Chen, you dare to be so disrespectful,” Lord You Lan shook his head. “I won’t hold it against you. But your Xia Clan’s Transcendent Feng Dong killed my servant. That cannot be overlooked. My demand is simple—you must compensate me with thirty Divine Scrolls! Then I will let this go and not hold a grudge against your Xia Clan. But if you refuse, the consequences will be unbearable for your Xia Clan.”

“You—how dare you—”

“Killing countless of our people and then demanding thirty Divine Scrolls?”

Palace Master Chen, Mountain Master He, Ghost Knight Feng Dong, and Deputy Mountain Master Zang Nuo were all too furious to speak.

Thirty Divine Scrolls?

How many did the entire Xia Clan even possess? His demand was outrageously steep!

And to think—he had just slaughtered countless Xia Clan members, yet dared to come directly to their doorstep, an act of unparalleled arrogance!

“Xia Clan, I advise you to heed Lord You Lan’s command. Otherwise…” the black-robed Nuo Nuo An sneered coldly.

“You will regret this,” General Kumen added beside him.

“Oh, I almost forgot another matter,” Lord You Lan suddenly extended his arm. His arm stretched rapidly, growing as thick and long as a heavenly pillar, reaching directly from the distant sky toward the front of the grand hall at the Black and White Divine Mountain. The sheer length of his arm was horrifying.

This sight shocked Palace Master Chen and the others.

Mountain Master He, however, roared in anger, “Stop!”

Boom! Boom! Boom! ~~~~

The formation arrays of the Black and White Divine Mountain instantly activated. Since the enemy had appeared, Mountain Master He had already been on high alert, activating many spatial restriction arrays beforehand. Now, the true sealing formation array activated—the massive black and white light barrier appeared out of nowhere, completely enveloping the Black and White Divine Mountain without leaving the slightest gap.

Lord You Lan’s lips curled slightly. Golden runes appeared on his palm, and dense, swirling golden runes encircled each of his five fingers.

Puff!

His five fingers struck the black and white light barrier. With a bang, the massive light barrier shattered instantly, the mountain-sealing formation pierced effortlessly.

“What!” Mountain Master He was stunned. “This mountain-sealing formation could not be broken even by a Transcendent of an entire era. Yet he did it so easily—perhaps only a true Divine Being could achieve such a feat.”

A true Divine Being?

“Quickly, scatter!” Palace Master Chen urgently transmitted his voice, and the four of them immediately dispersed in different directions.

“Black and White Moon Disks! Attack!” Mountain Master He then activated his divine artifact.

Buzz! Buzz!

Two dazzling crescent moons appeared. The Black and White Moon Disks, like two streams of light, led the power of the Black and White Divine Mountain’s formation arrays. As the strongest divine artifact of the Black and White Divine Mountain, it worked in harmony with the formation arrays, unleashing even greater power within the mountain stronghold—enough to suppress an entire era.

“Fascinating,” Lord You Lan murmured softly.

His hand directly reached toward the fleeing Ghost Knight Feng Dong.

Suddenly—

Everything around slowed down.

Whether Feng Dong running or the intercepting Black and White Moon Disks, their speeds began to slow dramatically. Only Lord You Lan’s arm, resembling a heavenly pillar, maintained its normal speed. His massive hand easily seized Feng Dong mid-flight. Then, just as quickly, it retracted, shrinking back to a mere ten meters in length.

The five fingers of his hand tightly gripped Feng Dong’s waist.

“This—this—” Mountain Master He, Palace Master Chen, and Deputy Mountain Master Zang Nuo were all stunned. Such power was terrifying!

Although in Xia Clan history, they understood that once either the Orc Clan or the Xia Clan produced a Divine Being, the other would retreat entirely, abandoning the mortal world. Because the power of a Divine Being was beyond any Transcendent’s ability to resist.

Yet this time, although Lord You Lan was only a Demigod, Mountain Master He and the others felt as if they were facing a Divine Being.

“Feng Dong, don’t worry. I won’t kill you immediately. I still need to demand thirty Divine Scrolls from your Xia Clan,” Lord You Lan looked at Feng Dong. “It’s simple. You just need to apologize and beg for mercy, then kneel and kowtow to me, and I will spare your life.”

“Apologize and beg? Kneel and kowtow?” Feng Dong felt his entire body’s power sealed by dark magic, but his eyes still burned with rage. He couldn’t forget the countless dead in the city, nor the survivors he had rescued—especially the terrified expressions of the youths.

“You damned outsiders! I would kill you if I could, let alone apologize and beg!” Feng Dong gritted his teeth.

“If you won’t apologize and beg, I will kill you,” Lord You Lan continued smiling.

“In the face of outsiders, there are only Xia Clan Transcendents who die in battle, never ones who kneel and beg!” Feng Dong roared.

“Truly admirable,” Lord You Lan smiled slightly.

Puff!

His massive hand suddenly clenched tightly. The space surrounding Feng Dong’s body shattered completely! Feng Dong’s body was crushed into nothingness. In his final gaze toward Lord You Lan, his eyes still burned with fury. Until his last breath, he did not bow.

The Xia Clan Transcendent Feng Dong was dead!

“Stop!!!” came a desperate cry from the Black and White Divine Mountain.

“Not yet,” Lord You Lan turned his gaze toward the furious Mountain Master He and others, smiling. “He killed my servant and refused to apologize and beg. Of course, I had to kill him! Oh, and don’t forget—bring me the thirty Divine Scrolls. Otherwise… hehe, Feng Dong was only the beginning. What comes next will be even more unbearable for you.”

As Lord You Lan chuckled, his white teeth gleamed.
