“The master of the Demonic Heart Society has already pledged allegiance to the Valley Master of Fuliugu. Who would be willing to mediate this matter for the sake of our insignificant Junshan City?” Yufeng Lei sneered, his eyes filled with pain. He was a man of immense pride, having once ventured alone into the wilderness to temper himself. Now, his strength was second only to his father in Junshan City! The idea that his sister had to sacrifice herself to save the entire Yufeng Clan was a disgrace to him! Yet, for the sake of countless clansmen, he had no choice but to agree to this plan. But now, even when offered, Dongmu City couldn’t be bothered to accept.
Disgrace!
But what else could he do?
“What should we do then? Is there any other way?” Yufeng Qingyin asked anxiously.
“At least you, Third Sister, won’t have to go to Dongmu City anymore. Father and I will think of something. That old fiend of the Demonic Heart Society has only recently broken through and likely has many matters to attend to. It will probably be a long time before he attacks Junshan City. Given enough time, anything could change. Even in the worst-case scenario, we can rely on Junshan City’s geographical advantages to resist him. Hmph, at worst, we’ll fight like madmen—even if we die, we’ll take down many of his elite forces and make him pay dearly,” Yufeng Lei said coldly.
“Elder Brother, think of another way,” Yufeng Qingyin urged.
“Haha.” Yufeng Lei gently patted his sister’s head and smiled. “Don’t worry. Leave this matter to Father and me.”
Yufeng Qingyin felt uneasy, but she had no solutions.
Yufeng Lei soon left.
Watching her elder brother’s retreating figure, Yufeng Qingyin was filled with dread. Though she wouldn’t have to marry that Ninth Young Master, the thought of her entire clan facing annihilation—her father, elder brother, second brother, her married-away elder sister, and so many familiar faces—filled her heart with unbearable pain.
She was willing to sacrifice herself to save her clan. But Dongmu City wouldn’t take her!
“What can I do? What can I do?” Yufeng Qingyin was overwhelmed with fear and helplessness, watching a great calamity approach without any means to stop it.
……
Though the higher-ups of the Yufeng Clan were uneasy, they kept the news tightly sealed. Junshan City remained peaceful.
The feud between the master of the Demonic Heart Society and Yufeng Junshan had always been a private matter, known to very few.
“Whoosh!”
Above a desolate marshland far, far away from Junshan City, a black rift flashed, and a white-robed figure stepped out—Dongbo Xueying.
“Hahaha, finally succeeded!” Standing mid-air, Dongbo Xueying gazed at the vast wilderness with joy. “Though the Great Void-Shattering Teleportation I created based on this world’s laws is still rudimentary, traversing within the Divine Realm is now effortless.”
“With this technique, no matter how vast the Divine Realm is, it’s as smooth as a flat road.” Dongbo Xueying was in high spirits.
Previously, traveling in this world had been a hassle.
One could only fly slowly!
From one city to another, even the nearest would take decades. For truly distant ones, millions or even tens of millions of years were normal.
Dongmu City and Junshan City were relatively close—otherwise, the Ninth Young Master wouldn’t have traveled to Junshan City in the first place.
Because travel was so cumbersome, even the three great imperial clans and other formidable powers, despite their immense strength, couldn’t establish strictly governed nations.
“In this world, the native Divine Realm denizens rely on bloodlines. But how many bloodlines possess the ability to perform Great Void-Shattering Teleportation?” Dongbo Xueying shook his head inwardly. “As for Ascenders, they are few in number, and those specializing in the Void Path are even rarer! With the Dao being incomplete, creating a Great Void-Shattering Teleportation technique from a flawed Void Path is no easy feat. Only with my prior experience and clear direction could I succeed.”
As a result, those capable of void traversal in the entire Divine Realm could be counted on one hand.
And now, Dongbo Xueying had joined their ranks!
Even renowned overlords like the Valley Master of Fuliugu couldn’t traverse the void—they could only fly slowly from place to place!
“Now, many things are within reach.” Dongbo Xueying smiled.
……
Junshan City.
Dongbo Xueying sat cross-legged, scrolls spread across the table before him.
“The Void Path.”
He held one scroll, studying it carefully.
These scrolls were intelligence reports he had purchased from the “Tianxin Tower.” The Tianxin Tower was established by one of the three imperial clans, the Tianxin Clan, and its branches spanned nearly the entire Divine Realm, making it the most well-informed organization.
“The soul path in this world seems rather mediocre—I doubt anyone surpasses me in it,” Dongbo Xueying mused. “Though there are many innate Primordial creatures here, none specialize in soul techniques.”
The number of innate Primordial creatures here exceeded that of the Broken Tooth Mountain Range.
Coupled with the greater number of powerful beings, battles had left behind numerous Primordial corpses.
For someone of Dongbo Xueying’s level, studying these corpses was immensely beneficial. Unlike cultivators who grew step by step, these creatures were born as they were—their bodies were manifestations of laws. Analyzing their body parts could yield insights. For example, the mysterious eyes of the “Thousand-Eyed Being” from the Broken Tooth Mountain Range had guided him in the Illusory Dream Path.
But clearly, Primordial creatures skilled in soul techniques were likely extremely rare—none had been found in this world.
“The Illusory Dream Path will have to be self-taught,” Dongbo Xueying thought.
Fortunately, the Illusory Dream Path faced no resistance in this world and could be employed perfectly.
“Master, Master.” A melodious voice called out.
Dongbo Xueying smiled and turned.
In this world, he had few close connections, and his disciple Yufeng Qingyin was among the closest. With a wave of his hand, he placed an empty wine cup on the table.
“Third Young Lady.” Two maidservants in the distance bowed respectfully.
Yufeng Qingyin strode forward, each step swift and light, and soon sat cross-legged opposite Dongbo Xueying. Without ceremony, she picked up the wine jug and poured herself a cup. “Master, I’ve come to drink with you.”
“Drink with me? More like you just want to drink,” Dongbo Xueying teased. “Before taking you as a disciple, I never realized you were such a wine lover.”
“Well, Master, you have so many fine wines—many of which aren’t even found in Junshan City,” Yufeng Qingyin replied with a grin.
Dongbo Xueying chuckled. He did have plenty of wine.
Most were casually brought from the Heart Realm Continent. Except for a few special varieties, these wines remained stable in this world without any flaws. After all, the Divine Realm was vast—who knew where new wines might emerge?
“Mmm.” Yufeng Qingyin downed several cups before asking, “Huh, Master, what are you reading?”
“Some intelligence reports from the Tianxin Tower,” Dongbo Xueying replied.
“Can I take a look?” she asked curiously.
“Of course.”
Yufeng Qingyin picked up a scroll and skimmed through it. “Oh, information about cultivation manuals of Ascenders specializing in the Void Path? And at the Divine Emperor level? Master, though Ascenders are formidable, most who reach the Divine Realm become Divine Lords easily, but Divine Emperors are exceedingly rare. The leap from Divine Lord to Divine Emperor is incredibly difficult!”
“Ascender Divine Emperors are indeed few,” Dongbo Xueying agreed. “And those of the Void Path are even rarer.”
In the Divine Realm, only eight Void Path Ascender Divine Emperors had been recorded.
This meant that Divine Emperor-level Void Path Ascender manuals were scarce.
“Master, if you’re looking for such manuals, there are only eight in the entire Divine Realm. Some are never shared, and those that are circulated are even fewer,” Yufeng Qingyin muttered as she read.
“Very few,” Dongbo Xueying acknowledged.
But they did exist.
Ascenders sometimes traded with other factions—exchanging a manual’s original copy for treasures. A single expert could produce multiple originals.
Of the eight Divine Emperor-level Void Path Ascender manuals, five had been circulated in multiple copies, though most were hoarded by major factions. After all, such manuals were highly valued.
“Scattered across the Divine Realm, finding them would be too difficult,” Yufeng Qingyin said, closing the scroll.
Dongbo Xueying continued reading, selecting his targets.
For others, the Divine Realm was too vast.
But for him, with Great Void-Shattering Teleportation, reaching any major city was effortless.
“Gulp, gulp.” Yufeng Qingyin drank again. “Master, come on, drink with me.”
“Alright.” Dongbo Xueying obliged, unaware that before the threat of the Demonic Heart Society, Yufeng Qingyin had rarely touched wine.
