Chapter 1249: The Time Has Come

In the secluded Eastern Lin Sacred Realm, within a quiet mansion, Dongbo Xueying and his wife Yu Jingqiu lived in seclusion.

“Jingqiu, Jingqiu,” Dongbo Xueying stood outside a meditation chamber, calling out, his voice penetrating directly inside.

“Rumble.”

The chamber door rumbled open, and Yu Jingqiu stepped out with a hint of exasperation, giving her husband a reproachful look. “Xueying, don’t you know I was in closed-door cultivation? Unless it’s something important, you shouldn’t disturb me. I was right in the middle of an experiment, and you ruined it. And here you are, grinning away. Even if my strength isn’t on par with yours, cultivation is still important, isn’t it?”

“Haha, forget about cultivation today. Come, let’s have a drink together, my dear. We have something to celebrate,” Dongbo Xueying said, pulling his wife along.

“Celebrate?” Yu Jingqiu was puzzled. “Celebrate what? What’s worth celebrating?”

Dongbo Xueying deliberately kept her in suspense, leading her to a garden where they sat facing each other.

With a wave of his hand, the surrounding flowers burst into full bloom, filling the air with fragrance. Trees sprouted fresh buds, butterflies materialized out of thin air to flutter among the blossoms, and birds chirped merrily. In the distance, a lake teemed with exotic creatures, all frolicking joyfully.

“Jingqiu, let me pour you some wine—Rainwood Fruit Wine, brewed by my own hands,” Dongbo Xueying said as he filled her cup.

Yu Jingqiu looked around in astonishment. “Just tell me already. What’s so important that it warrants such a celebration?”

Dongbo Xueying handed her the cup. “First, let’s toast.”

“Fine, fine, have it your way,” Yu Jingqiu relented.

After clinking glasses, Dongbo Xueying leaned in and whispered, “I have a great secret to share.”

“Oh? Do enlighten me,” Yu Jingqiu set her cup down.

“I’ve reached the Ultimate Realm in the Void Path,” Dongbo Xueying said with a smile.

Yu Jingqiu froze.

Then her eyes widened as she stared at him.

“Really?” she asked after a long pause.

“Really!” Dongbo Xueying nodded.

Yu Jingqiu was overwhelmed with emotion. They had long known that their homeworld was nearing the Great Destruction. Dongbo Yu and Dongbo Qingyao had been training diligently, but deep down, they all understood that surviving the cataclysm was nearly impossible. Even Ancestor Tianyu and the others considered it a distant hope.

The best chance lay in Dongbo Xueying achieving the Ultimate Realm in the Void Path before the Great Destruction. Once he reached that pinnacle, his control over the Void would increase exponentially, allowing him to perform the ‘Great Void Crossing Technique’ and transport others to safety.

“But for now, I’ve only told you. Keep it to yourself,” Dongbo Xueying said. “There’s still one major task I must complete in the Heart Realm Continent. Once that’s done, I’ll make it public.”

“Understood,” Yu Jingqiu nodded. Priorities came first.

“This is wonderful,” she sighed in relief.

Dongbo Xueying smiled. Both he and his wife had long since transcended the fear of death—they had done so back in their Transcendent days. They were certain Dongbo Yu and Dongbo Qingyao, having cultivated to their current levels, had done the same. Yet, as parents, they still wished to protect their children.

In the Heart Realm Continent, within the Nanyun Kingdom’s Feixue City, Dongbo Xueying’s avatar stationed there wielded a Primordial Weapon, familiarizing himself with his newfound power after the breakthrough.

“Marvelous,” Dongbo Xueying murmured in the meditation chamber, gripping the Qinghe Spear with awe.

Since attaining the Ultimate Realm in the Void Path, his consciousness could effortlessly penetrate the mysterious Black Mist Particle Spheres. What was once enigmatic now felt like the cells of his own body—completely under his control. His consciousness could even extend into the vast Primordial Space! The colossal Source World emitted constant ripples, disturbing the surrounding Primordial Energy.

“Holding the Qinghe Spear significantly enhances my perception of the Primordial Space and extends the range of my consciousness,” Dongbo Xueying marveled.

“Then there are the sixth and seventh strikes of the Supreme Secret Art.”

The final two strikes of the Primordial Seven Strikes were extraordinary. Even after reaching the Ultimate Realm and with the guidance of the Supreme Secret Art, they could not be executed without a Primordial Weapon. It was these two strikes that elevated Dongbo Xueying’s strength far beyond that of ordinary Invincible Existences. Without the Qinghe Spear, the first five Primordial Strikes alone, augmented by peak-tier treasures, could rival an Invincible Existence—much like the Sword Master.

“These last two strikes,” Dongbo Xueying mused. He was no fool to replicate them blindly; instead, he absorbed their essence, integrating them into his own techniques to refine his arsenal.

One day, while consolidating his techniques, Dongbo Xueying practiced a domain-type move. The Void Path was renowned for its domain prowess.

“Hum.”

With the Qinghe Spear amplifying his perception, his consciousness merged with countless Black Mist Particle Spheres, spreading out in the blink of an eye to cover the entire Heart Realm Continent. Every corner—including the domains of the Eternal Night Primogenitor, the Extreme Night Primogenitor, and the three ancestors of the Snow Ruins Nation—was laid bare before him. Only three locations remained beyond his reach: the Heart Realm Palace, the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, and the secluded abodes of Emperor Xia, the Wanderer, and the Infinite City Master.

To avoid detection, Dongbo Xueying refrained from probing deeper into the latter three, sensing the formidable arrays and restrictions they had in place.

“I can actually survey the entire Heart Realm Continent,” Dongbo Xueying was stunned.

The Heart Realm Continent was immense, far larger than an ordinary Source World, and the suppression of the Supreme Rules was intense. The domain perception of an Ultimate Realm expert was typically limited, falling far short of encompassing the entire continent. Even the original Ancient Sacred World, though much smaller than the Heart Realm Continent, could not be fully perceived by an Ultimate Realm expert in a single thought.

“Without the Qinghe Spear…” Dongbo Xueying tried relying solely on his own perception.

His range shrank drastically. Even with the Supreme Secret Art’s techniques, his perception extended only slightly beyond twice the territory of the Xiawind Ancient Nation—nowhere near the scale of the entire continent.

“Since I can cover the entire continent, that means the Undying Underworld Emperor can no longer escape my detection,” Dongbo Xueying’s eyes gleamed with anticipation.

If his enemy remained within his domain, no matter how they changed their appearance or concealed their aura, Dongbo Xueying would see through it all. Previously, his limited range meant that once the enemy escaped his domain, they could vanish without a trace. But now, with his perception spanning the entire continent, there was nowhere to hide.

“If I disregard stealth, I could even forcibly probe Emperor Xia, the Wanderer, and the Infinite City Master,” Dongbo Xueying mused. Of course, doing so would alert them—just as he would detect their intrusions.

“Undying Underworld Emperor… Heaven itself has sealed your fate.”

A cold killing intent flashed in Dongbo Xueying’s eyes. This madman had been rampantly harvesting countless souls, and until now, there had been no way to stop him. The only one capable of tracking him, the Infinite City Master, had refused to help. But now, with the Supreme Secret Art, the Primordial Weapon, and his vast Void Domain covering the entire continent, the enemy had nowhere to run.

Even if the Undying Underworld Emperor fled to the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, Dongbo Xueying could station an avatar at the border, ensuring his demise would come even faster.

“Excellent,” Dongbo Xueying suppressed his murderous intent. “After all this time, I’ll consolidate my strength a bit further.”

He focused on refining techniques that could be enhanced quickly. As for more complex endeavors, like the third layer of Primordial Body Refinement, he knew it would require significant time and effort—not something achievable in the short term.

Once he made the necessary adjustments, it would be time to act.

Apart from informing his wife and being discovered by Lord Luo, Dongbo Xueying kept his breakthrough a secret. Six hundred years after reaching the Ultimate Realm, he had fully consolidated his strength and refined his techniques.

“It’s about time. My power has peaked for now—there’s no further room for rapid improvement. Time to make my move,” Dongbo Xueying thought. Previously, he had considered rallying a group of World Masters to assist him. But now, with his newfound strength, he was confident he could handle the Undying Underworld Emperor alone.
