The world of the indigenous people is hidden within the void, invisible to the naked eye.
However, Dongbo Xueying, a master of the Void Path, could naturally perceive these concealed worlds.
“Whoosh.”
Dongbo Xueying, appearing as a white-robed youth, emerged in a stretch of void and gazed at a distant floating island no larger than a sesame seed. He nodded slightly. “Using the floating island as a reference, the hidden world before me must be the Starlight World.”
Whoosh.
With a flicker of his body, he effortlessly entered the concealed world.
…
The Starlight World was a vast expanse of land.
Unlike the oppressive and repressive nature of the floating islands, the suppression within the Starlight World was minimal. With a single thought, one could perform the Great Void-Shattering Teleportation.
“Hmm?”
Upon entering the Starlight World, Dongbo Xueying swept his gaze around and immediately spotted collapsed structures in the distance, fissures torn into the earth, and vast craters amid the ruins of distant forests.
“Seems like a great battle took place here?” Dongbo Xueying wasn’t particularly surprised, assuming it was merely internal strife among the inhabitants of this world.
“Hum!”
He expanded his Void Domain, sensing the surroundings from afar. The Starlight World did not repel him, allowing his domain to envelop the entire world in an instant. At the heart of this vast land, however, an incredibly dense concentration of starlight energy gathered, rejecting all forms of probing. Even Dongbo Xueying’s Void Domain was repelled.
Beyond the region shrouded in starlight, massive ships hovered in the air, their guards exuding an aura of thunder.
“From what I know, the indigenous tribes are divided by bloodline,” Dongbo Xueying mused. “For instance, the Bloodflame Tribe traces its lineage back to a powerful ancestor with the Bloodflame bloodline, and the entire tribe focuses on awakening this bloodline. Similarly, the Starlight Tribe should possess the Starlight bloodline as their primary cultivation. But these beings radiating thunder energy clearly aren’t from the Starlight Tribe.”
“What exactly is going on here?”
Dongbo Xueying employed Void-Shattering Observation to peer into the distance.
At the core of the Starlight World lay an elegant, sprawling complex of buildings, teeming with countless tribesmen. At a glance, he could see over a hundred million Starlight tribesmen gathered there, shielded by dense starlight. However, this starlight was now sealed off by spatial barriers—emanating from the hovering ships surrounding the area.
“The Starlight Tribe is under attack?” Dongbo Xueying wasn’t foolish; he immediately recognized that another indigenous tribe was assaulting the Starlight Tribe.
“Strange. The last time I encountered the Bloodflame Tribe, Bloodflame Ji mentioned they too had been driven from their homeland. Now the Starlight Tribe is also under siege? It seems the indigenous tribes are embroiled in fierce internal conflicts.”
Upon reflection, it made sense.
Even within a single family, internal strife was common. Conflict was simply an inescapable part of existence.
“Whoosh.”
With a single step, Dongbo Xueying appeared just outside the spatial barrier, where a thunder-imbued guard happened to be patrolling. The moment the guard spotted the white-robed youth, he barked, “Who are you?”
“Who am I?” Dongbo Xueying smiled faintly as an illusionary realm instantly enveloped the hapless guard. He had deliberately teleported beside this guard, whose strength was merely at the Chaos Realm level. The willpower of indigenous beings was even weaker than that of cultivators, allowing Dongbo Xueying to effortlessly sift through his memories.
From the memories, he learned that the guard belonged to the “Thunder Serpent Tribe,” following their ruler, the Thunder Serpent Monarch, in an assault on the Starlight World. Their goal? To annihilate the Starlight Tribe and claim this world for themselves.
“Wiping out an entire tribe? That’s ruthless,” Dongbo Xueying remarked with surprise.
“Who’s there?”
“Who dares trespass upon the Thunder Serpent Tribe?” A group of warriors from a nearby ship had already noticed the disturbance.
Dongbo Xueying glanced at the approaching fighters and, with a mere thought, tore open a black rift in space. Stepping through, he vanished into the heart of the Starlight World.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…
The swarm of warriors rushed over.
“Who was that white-robed youth? Why did he disappear?”
“Where did he go?”
“It looked like he used the Great Void-Shattering Teleportation. Who knows where he went?”
The warriors exchanged grave looks before interrogating the dazed guard. Since the guard was merely following orders and wasn’t inherently malevolent, Dongbo Xueying had spared his life.
…
The Great Void-Shattering Teleportation directly into the core of the Starlight World naturally alarmed its defenders.
“Who’s there?”
“Who just entered?”
“Even if the five tribes dare to invade, they’d lose half their forces trying to exterminate us!” A group of elite Starlight warriors swiftly converged, spotting the white-robed youth standing calmly on the grass, smiling. Dongbo Xueying’s gaze settled on the leading figure—a man clad in starlight robes.
“Lord of the Starlight World,” Dongbo Xueying said amiably, “I happened to be passing through the Broken Tooth Mountain Range and decided to pay a visit.”
The gathered warriors exchanged puzzled glances, looking to their leader for answers.
“My lord, do you know him?”
“Who is he?”
“I can’t sense his aura at all. What is his origin?”
The high-ranking officials—elders, generals, and commanders—remained wary.
Dongbo Xueying blinked. Ever since mastering his Illusory Realm killing technique, his aura had become elusive, making it impossible for others to gauge his strength. In the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, this had become second nature to him. He then subtly revealed his true aura.
The Lord of the Starlight World chuckled. “Rest assured, everyone. This is a friend from the Heart Realm Continent—the Flying Snow Divine Emperor, whom I’ve mentioned before.”
“Ah, the Flying Snow Divine Emperor?”
“The one who saved our princess?”
Recognition dawned among them.
“Divine Emperor Flying Snow,” the Starlight Lord said with a rueful smile, “I once invited you to our world, but never imagined it would be under such circumstances. Forgive our poor hospitality. Please, join me in my residence.”
“Of course,” Dongbo Xueying replied, following him.
…
Inside the Starlight Lord’s palace, a banquet was held in Dongbo Xueying’s honor, attended by the lord, his wife and daughter, and two elders.
“My daughter is far too reckless,” the Starlight Lord said, casting a stern glance at the girl. “Her curiosity about the Heart Realm Continent led her to sneak out of our world. Fortunately, Divine Emperor Flying Snow—in his guise as Daoist Tianxin—slew the demon who threatened her life.”
Dongbo Xueying nodded in understanding.
“Thank you for saving me, Divine Emperor,” the princess said meekly.
“It was nothing,” Dongbo Xueying replied with a smile.
A portly silver-haired elder added, “That Divine Emperor Flying Snow happened to rescue our princess is surely fate at work.”
“Our Starlight Tribe repays kindness with kindness,” the Starlight Lord said solemnly. “Under normal circumstances, we would assist you in the Broken Tooth Mountain Range. But as you can see, we are currently besieged. For your own safety, Divine Emperor, it’s best you depart swiftly, lest you be caught in our plight.”
“What exactly is happening here?” Dongbo Xueying asked, puzzled. “Why is the Starlight World under attack? I previously encountered the Bloodflame Tribe, who were also driven from their homeland.”
“This is all due to the North River Divine Emperor,” the Starlight Lord explained. “The Bloodflame Tribe refused to submit to his enslavement, and their lord fell in battle. Only Bloodflame Ji and a handful escaped. Similarly, we of the Starlight Tribe refuse to bow to him.”
“Humph,” a dark-faced elder snorted. “If they wish to exterminate us, the North River Divine Emperor’s forces will pay dearly. Let’s see how many subordinates he’s willing to sacrifice to conquer world after world.”
“Better to die fighting than live as slaves,” the silver-haired elder added coolly.
The Starlight Lord turned to Dongbo Xueying. “Divine Emperor, there’s no need for further questions. After this meal, I’ll provide you with intelligence about the floating islands. Please leave soon—do not let our misfortune befall you.”
