The cold and austere Elder Hall.
Two elders sat at the high seats, while figures continuously darted in from outside, entering the hall—some in human form, others in beast form. The black-clad maiden, ‘King Fusuo,’ stood to the side, watching everything with icy detachment.
“Everyone is here,” declared the Third Elder, a humanoid monster clad in black scales, his gray eyes sweeping over the assembly below.
“Elders.”
Eleven figures bowed in unison, their voices filled with reverence. Even the black-clad maiden, King Fusuo, inclined her head slightly in respect.
The Second and Third Elders exchanged a glance.
The Third Elder continued, “This time, the invaders include not only the natives but also cultivators from the Heart Realm Continent. King Qidu, you will remain in the clan’s territory and await further orders from the Second Elder and me. The other ten Kings, along with King Fusuo, will join us in action. King Fusuo… you have no objections, do you?”
The black-clad maiden, King Fusuo, smiled faintly and bowed. “I am honored to serve the clan.”
“Hmm.”
The Third Elder nodded.
King Fusuo was among the top-tier of the Kings. Having once failed in her bid for an elder position, she refused to submit to orders and instead led her followers away from the clan’s territory.
Yet, King Fusuo remained an immensely powerful combatant, and the two elders still sought to mobilize her.
“Among the invaders, there are three cultivators from the Heart Realm Continent. The swordsman is an invincible existence. The Second Elder and I will deal with him! The other two cultivators—one is likely at the Ultimate realm, while the other is merely a second-tier Cosmic God and hardly worth mentioning. King Fusuo, you will handle those two. The rest of the Kings… combine your strength to swiftly eliminate the native forces. Then assist King Fusuo!”
“Yes.”
All eleven Kings, including King Fusuo, acknowledged the command.
“No time to waste. Let us annihilate the enemies beyond our territory! Move!” The Third and Second Elders rose simultaneously.
The Kings immediately parted to either side.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The two elders shot out of the hall in an instant, followed closely by the eleven Kings.
Each transformed into a swirling black mist exuding an aura of death, vanishing from the clan’s territory to launch their assault. Only King Qidu remained behind.
The Deathless Clan could traverse and teleport effortlessly across the Floating Island, so they had no concerns about the safety of their territory—they could return at any moment.
……
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Dongbo Xueying and his group advanced rapidly toward the clan’s territory.
Navigating the perilous Floating Island, the native leader, His Highness Bloodflame Ji, relayed warnings about dangerous zones through mental transmissions.
“Boom.”
Suddenly, an overwhelming presence descended.
Thirteen figures materialized out of thin air. Neither the Insect Ancestor’s detection methods, Dongbo Xueying’s illusory world scouting, nor the natives’ vigilance had detected them until their arrival.
Each of these thirteen figures radiated a terrifying aura. Dongbo Xueying, the Insect Ancestor, and the others felt an intense sense of threat.
At the forefront were two figures.
One was a humanoid scaled monster, while the other was a hunched elder wreathed in green mist. Their auras were vast and overwhelming, surpassing even the oppressive presence of the Eternal Night Primogenitor that Dongbo Xueying had once encountered.
Behind them stood eleven figures—some humanoid, others bestial—each exuding immense power. The black-clad maiden who had attacked earlier was merely one among them.
“Be careful! These are the Second and Third Elders of the clan, along with eleven Kings!” Bloodflame Ji’s expression darkened as he urgently transmitted the warning.
“The Second and Third Elders?”
Dongbo Xueying, the Insect Ancestor, and the Swordmaster tensed.
The native forces, sincere in their cooperation, had already informed them that the most terrifying figures in the Floating Island’s clan were the ‘Emperor’ and his three elders. The Grand Elder was the strongest, followed by the Second and Third Elders. Below them were the Kings.
“Brother Demon Sword, Brother Feixue, aside from the Emperor and the Grand Elder, the Deathless Clan’s strongest forces have almost all come out,” the Insect Ancestor transmitted. “We moved as fast as we could, teaming up with the natives to rush to the clan’s territory without delay. Yet we were intercepted early. We haven’t even obtained any treasures from the Floating Island yet.”
“Treasures within the Broken Tooth Mountain Range aren’t so easily acquired,” Dongbo Xueying replied.
“Stick to the plan. Fight with everything we have,” the Swordmaster transmitted.
They had never assumed they could overpower the Deathless Clan head-on.
Once the Deathless Clan committed their full strength, resistance was futile. Their only hope was to survive and strive for the treasures, which were typically located at the Floating Island’s core.
“Fortunately…”
Dongbo Xueying silently sighed in relief.
The gap between tiers was often insurmountable. While each of Dongbo Xueying’s clones possessed Ultimate realm strength, even with the combined power of nine clones and the Void Fire Lotus, he still fell short of an invincible existence.
If the ‘Emperor’ were to appear, his presence alone would dwarf the combined threat of the two elders and eleven Kings.
……
Bloodflame Ji suddenly waved his hand.
His three companions vanished, replaced by four new figures.
The newcomers radiated significantly stronger auras.
“If the two elders can’t stop us now, the Grand Elder will likely appear,” Bloodflame Ji transmitted. “This time, we’ve committed the full might of the Bloodflame Clan. We must succeed. We are the last remaining elites of our clan. Only by obtaining the Nether Spirit Fruit can we reclaim our homeland. Otherwise, our clan will vanish like so many other worlds in the Broken Tooth Mountain Range’s history.”
“Even at the cost of our lives, we must secure the Nether Spirit Fruit.”
“We fight to the death.”
The clansmen’s eyes burned with fervent determination.
Dongbo Xueying, the Insect Ancestor, and the Swordmaster were surprised. Bloodflame Ji had swapped out three weaker companions for four stronger ones. Clearly, he carried a pocket dimension artifact containing many clansmen. Judging by their auras, each was formidable, nearly at the Ultimate realm in combat strength.
It was a testament to the native factions’ might within the Broken Tooth World—able to deploy so many Sovereign-level combatants. Unbeknownst to them, these were the last remaining elites of a single world in exile.
……
Though the exchange seemed lengthy, it occurred in an instant.
The moment the Deathless Clan appeared, the natives swiftly rotated their forces.
Battle erupted immediately.
“Roar—!” The Second Elder’s form blurred, transforming into a colossal green mist giant. Towering over the landscape, his toenails dwarfed the surrounding trees. He let out a deafening roar, unleashing an invisible wave that engulfed the Swordmaster.
Meanwhile, the Third Elder charged forward with a snarl, his black-scaled body bristling with deadly weapons—tail, claws, every limb a lethal instrument.
With a single swipe, his arm cleaved through the void like a blade, sending a dark streak slashing toward the Swordmaster.
“Hmph.”
The Swordmaster stood mid-air, his sword raised. With a single swing, the very heavens seemed to revolve around his blade.
Though the Second and Third Elders appeared more ferocious, they found themselves helplessly swayed by his technique. Their raw power was immense, but their mastery was crude compared to the Swordmaster’s refined artistry, honed through the Supreme Inheritance.
This was one of the Supreme Inheritance’s greatest strengths.
Unlike Supreme Treasures, which only allowed the wielder to employ the techniques embedded within them, the Supreme Inheritance imparted the ‘Dao’ itself—vast and comprehensive. It enabled practitioners to draw insights and integrate them into their own techniques, expanding their repertoire.
“Die!” King Fusuo, the black-clad maiden, struck with overwhelming force, sending the Insect Ancestor flying as his body dissolved into countless insects.
“Brother Feixue, this enemy is too strong. I can’t hold her off,” the Insect Ancestor transmitted.
“Leave her to me.”
For the first time since arriving on the Floating Island, Dongbo Xueying engaged in battle.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A massive Void Fire Lotus bloomed, atop which stood nine white-robed youths.
King Fusuo paused, then sneered. “Numbers mean nothing. Perish!” Her claws expanded, wreathed in endless black energy, and she swiped down with crushing force.
“Break.”
The nine youths punched simultaneously.
Countless fist shadows merged into a single, hazy giant fist, surging with the power of the Primordial Chaos. With a thunderous impact, the fist collided with the massive claw.
King Fusuo’s expression twisted as she was forced back, an eerie force worming its way into her body.
“The weakest of the three cultivators?” she muttered in disbelief. “This… this is the weakest? He’s the second strongest among the invaders, even more troublesome than the native leader!”
