Chapter 1200: Infiltration

Whoosh!

A man carrying a divine sword, a massive insectoid figure draped in black robes, and a youth clad in white appeared high above the Broken Tooth Mountain Range.

“The mountains stretch endlessly, boundless and vast.” Dongbo Xueying and his two companions gazed down, sensing the twisted and distorted space below.

“Let’s go down.”

The three of them descended together. As they drew closer, the space grew increasingly warped and eerie.

Huff.

Dongbo Xueying and the Insect Ancestor, Ba Tuochen, both revealed expressions of curiosity. They felt as though they had stepped from one world into another—because the very fabric of the Supreme Rules had changed! The Supreme Rules that governed the entire Heart Realm Continent were replaced here, deep within the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, by an entirely different set of laws.

“Fascinating.”

As the trio entered the inner space of the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, the towering peaks they had seen earlier transformed into floating islands suspended in the void.

The space was vast and boundless.

Countless floating islands drifted in the endless expanse.

“In the world of the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, the true dangers lie within these floating islands. The infinite void and the hidden worlds scattered throughout pose no inherent threat,” the Swordmaster said with a faint smile. “The floating island ahead of us is codenamed ‘Yin 3975.'”

With a clear reference point, the Swordmaster, Dongbo Xueying, and the Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen immediately began teleporting forward.

Proceeding cautiously, they found their destination after a dozen or so teleportations.

“Yin 5299.” The three stood in the void, gazing at the massive floating island before them. “We’re here.”

The island, estimated to be over three hundred billion miles in diameter, was considered one of the smaller ones in the Broken Tooth Mountain Range.

“Neither of you has been to a floating island before, so let me remind you—the true dangers of the Broken Tooth Mountain Range lie within these islands,” the Swordmaster said gravely. “Once we enter, stick to the plan we discussed earlier.”

“Understood.” Dongbo Xueying and the Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen dared not be careless.

The three exchanged glances, their eyes filled with anticipation.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

They soared toward the floating island.

The island, suspended in the void, was covered in undulating mountain ranges. From the outside, these mountains appeared connected to the rest of the range, but within the world of the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, the scene was utterly surreal.

“Such a sinister aura.” As they drew closer, Dongbo Xueying’s expression shifted slightly. The entire island exuded an eerie, bone-chilling energy that made him deeply uneasy.

“Hmm?”

Dongbo Xueying realized his connection with his external avatar was being disrupted. “I can’t perform a Great Void Crossing?”

The Great Void Crossing Technique was an incredibly powerful escape method.

Within the Broken Tooth Mountain Range, according to intelligence, one could use the Great Void Crossing Technique to reach the hidden worlds where the natives lived or traverse the vast void. Even without it, one could teleport to the edge and easily return to the Heart Realm Continent.

But within the floating islands, a mysterious force repelled and obstructed such techniques, rendering the Great Void Crossing Technique unusable!

“Tch.” Dongbo Xueying willed his Void Domain to expand, only to be met with resistance from the chilling energy. With the aid of the ‘Void Fire Lotus’ he carried, he barely managed to extend it a million miles before being completely blocked. The oppressive, frigid force was vast and boundless, its suppression so intense that visible ripples formed in the air.

“How is it?” The Swordmaster and the Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen both looked at Dongbo Xueying.

“The resistance is strong. My domain can only cover a million miles,” Dongbo Xueying transmitted mentally. At the same time, he activated his Illusory World.

The Illusory World, a technique of the soul, faced far less resistance. However, due to the chilling energy, it could only span eighteen million miles. Dongbo Xueying didn’t exert his full power to deploy illusions or temptations—his goal was merely to scout the surroundings, so expanding the range was sufficient.

“Floating islands suppress many techniques and laws severely,” the Swordmaster transmitted. “We can’t even teleport here. But the Deathblight Race moves freely within the islands, teleporting effortlessly. That puts us at a disadvantage.”

“My Illusory World is less suppressed. It can cover eighteen million miles,” Dongbo Xueying replied.

“Oh?” The Swordmaster and the Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen both brightened.

Eighteen million miles was a considerable range.

“I’ll scout ahead.” The Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen waved his hand, releasing dozens of insects that swiftly dispersed in all directions.

While the Insect Ancestor sent his minions to explore, Dongbo Xueying maintained his Illusory World, carefully avoiding interference with his companions. The Swordmaster, meanwhile, was the strongest combatant among them. Both Dongbo Xueying and the Swordmaster had brought treasures—though only peak-grade ones. Even if they were unlucky enough to perish and lose them, the loss would be bearable.

Treasures were essential—greater strength meant better odds of securing rare opportunities.

“I’ve found the path.” The Insect Ancestor took the lead, as the Cang Clan had once sent a Cosmic God here.

“Whoosh—”

In the distance, a wisp of white mist drifted ominously.

Dongbo Xueying, the Insect Ancestor, and the Swordmaster all tensed.

According to the Cang Clan’s intelligence, the ‘spherical white mist’ on these floating islands possessed terrifying corrosive power. Any Cosmic God who touched it would instantly disintegrate—even treasures would crumble to dust. It was clear that even a perfected Cosmic God’s body would meet the same fate.

Undoubtedly, this was one of the deadliest hazards on the floating island. But as long as they avoided it, they would be fine.

They pressed onward.

With flight as their only option, it took them a long time to traverse ten billion miles. Along the way, they encountered numerous environmental dangers.

Dongbo Xueying suspected these hazards weren’t deliberately created by ‘Yuan’—their purpose as trials seemed limited. More likely, ‘Yuan’ had transplanted them from elsewhere.

“Hmm?” Dongbo Xueying suddenly turned his head.

“What is it?” The Insect Ancestor and the Swordmaster were startled.

“Deathblight Race.” Dongbo Xueying’s voice was low.

His Illusory World had detected a member of the Deathblight Race—a beast-like creature with pitch-black skin. It had been observing them from afar but retreated the moment it entered the range of Dongbo Xueying’s Illusory World.

“The Deathblight Race has appeared,” the Swordmaster transmitted. “Now that we’ve spotted the first, it won’t be long before the first attack comes.”

As he spoke, the Swordmaster drew the divine sword from his back.

Gripping the blade, his gaze remained calm but vigilant.

The Insect Ancestor narrowed his eyes. Despite sending out scouts, he hadn’t detected a single Deathblight creature.

The trio continued forward.

Occasionally, Dongbo Xueying spotted more Deathblight members. They were easy to identify—each radiated an aura of death and corruption. Most had dark, leathery skin.

“It feels like they’re observing us… like prey,” Dongbo Xueying transmitted. “So far, I’ve detected six distinct Deathblight beings—five beast-like, and one humanoid, clad in robes.”

“Hmm?” The Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen suddenly looked sharply in one direction.

“What’s wrong?” The Swordmaster and Dongbo Xueying were puzzled.

“Who goes there?!”

A furious shout echoed from afar. A figure appeared high in the sky, scanning the surroundings. His eyes burned with strange flames, instantly locking onto Dongbo Xueying’s trio hidden among the trees.

Whoosh!

The figure streaked across a hundred million miles, landing above them. It was a red-haired man with a fierce aura, his gaze wary as he studied the three.

“Practitioners from the Heart Realm Continent?” he growled.

“Natives?” Dongbo Xueying and the Swordmaster recognized him immediately.

“Brother Feixue, Brother Yaojian, there’s a camp not far from here—sixteen natives are gathered there,” the Insect Ancestor Ba Tuochen transmitted. “They’re extremely cautious. My scout was detected and destroyed the moment it found them.”

“Probably a group of native warriors here for life-and-death training,” Dongbo Xueying speculated.

The Swordmaster, however, laughed openly. “Are you here for survival training? We’re just passing through, exploring the island.”
