Watching Gong Liang depart into the distance, Dongbo Xueying stepped into his manor.
The manor was quite luxurious, with more servants and maids than in Xue Shi Castle. A woman in white robes bowed respectfully and said, “My lord, I am Xu Qin, the steward of your manor. Please let me know if you need anything.”
“A female steward?” Dongbo Xueying looked at her.
She was quite beautiful, with an exceptional figure, truly a rare beauty. Judging from her aura, she was likely a Star-Level mage. A young female mage of such beauty and caliber would have been pursued relentlessly in the mortal world, but now she was serving as a steward for a Transcendent.
This made Dongbo Xueying mutter inwardly. Most of the female servants and maids in the manor did not cultivate any martial energy or magical power, but their appearances and figures were still quite pleasing. A few dozen of them were even close to the steward in beauty, surpassing even Kong Youyue in looks. However, lacking martial energy or magic, they lacked the same aura.
“Such a gathering of beauties? The Spark Palace truly considers every need of the Transcendents!” Dongbo Xueying mused to himself before ordering, “Xu Qin, explain the layout of the manor to me.”
“Yes, my lord.” Xu Qin replied, her heart secretly delighted.
She had been assigned by the Spark Palace to be the steward of a Transcendent warrior, and she had been anxious at first.
After all, before a Transcendent, mortals were helpless and powerless to resist. Many who served as stewards for Transcendents often became their lovers. Xu Qin could not resist and could only passively accept. However, since arriving at this manor, she had heard that her master was an extraordinary young prodigy who had become a Transcendent at the age of only twenty-eight.
Twenty-eight and already a Transcendent? Xu Qin had felt relieved at the time—at least he wasn’t an old, decrepit man.
When Dongbo Xueying and Gong Liang descended from the sky and landed in front of the manor, Xu Qin had taken a good look at her new master.
He was very young.
His aura was extraordinary, and though not particularly handsome, his features were pleasant to look at. Xu Qin felt a sense of joy in her heart.
“My lord, these are the quarters for the guards,” Xu Qin explained as she and Dongbo Xueying walked through the manor, with two maids following behind. “That area is where the female servants reside.”
Arriving at the central area of the manor.
“This is where my lord resides, including the reception hall, training areas, and more… The maids live nearby. I reside in the side hall, ready to serve you at any time.” Xu Qin explained carefully. Her voice was soft and well-trained, clearly having received formal training from the Spark Palace.
Dongbo Xueying secretly admired the orderliness of the steward and the maids.
In the mortal world, only a family with a thousand years of heritage could raise such a large number of excellent maids. The servants in Dongbo Castle were far more ordinary, many resembling rural village girls.
“Alright, you may all be dismissed now.” Dongbo Xueying said, preparing to rest. He had already sensed the entire layout of the manor using his connection to the world’s energy, though he hadn’t known the specific functions of each area before. Now, everything was clear.
“Yes.”
Xu Qin and the maids bowed respectfully and then dispersed.
As Xu Qin left, a faint smile appeared on her lips. Although her Transcendent master seemed indifferent to her, she believed that over time, feelings would naturally develop. For their first meeting, she was quite satisfied with her new master.
…
The next morning, the Windrider Knight Chi Qiubai sent an invitation, asking him to attend a banquet at his manor at noon, where other Transcendents from Anyang Province would also be present.
At noon that day.
Dongbo Xueying stepped out of his manor. With a single step, he vanished from sight and reappeared in an instant at the entrance of Chi Qiubai’s manor. The guards at the gate were not surprised at all to see the sudden appearance of the young man in black robes. As guards for the residence of a Windrider Knight, they were often in the presence of Transcendents, and they were already accustomed to the incredible speed of the Transcendents.
“Lord Dongbo, please follow me,” one of the guards said respectfully, leading the way.
First led by guards, then by maids, Dongbo Xueying entered the main hall.
The grand hall was already occupied by six Transcendents. They sat cross-legged on the floor, each before a low table. This was an ancient Xia Clan dining custom—still practiced by some refined noble families in the mortal world. Dongbo Xueying’s parents, having once been adventurers, were not particularly formal in their habits.
They simply sat around a table.
Transcendent beings, with their long lifespans, preferred ancient customs. Moreover, they naturally maintained a subtle vigilance toward other Transcendents. Sitting together at a meal made them feel constantly on edge, so sitting separately was more comfortable.
“Xueying has arrived!” The one seated at the main position was none other than Windrider Knight Chi Qiubai.
Chi Qiubai, with his flowing white hair, was drinking wine with a Carefree and unrestrained manner, though a faint sadness always lingered in his eyes.
“Brother Windrider,” Dongbo Xueying bowed in greeting and turned to the other five Transcendents. “Greetings, honored seniors.”
“Senior?” The only female Transcendent in the hall laughed.
“Xueying is a newly ascended Transcendent and the youngest among us. Isn’t it appropriate to call you seniors?” Chi Qiubai said.
A man sitting to Chi Qiubai’s left, carrying a blade on his back, chuckled. “That’s true, but this is the first time Ling Shu has been called a senior.”
Dongbo Xueying took a closer look at the blade-carrying man.
Transcendent warriors usually stored their weapons in magical artifacts, able to summon them instantly with a thought—faster than drawing from the back. Therefore, carrying weapons on the back was rare. Even the concept of growing familiar with a weapon by carrying it constantly was unnecessary for Transcendents, who had already reached the stage of perfect unity with their strength.
Those who carried weapons on their backs usually did so either out of personal preference or because of a special “secret art.”
“My name is Cheng Lingshu. Just call me Lingshu Senior in the future. Calling me ‘senior lady’ feels strange,” the female mage said. Her appearance was only average, but her personality was straightforward and lively.
“Lingshu Senior,” Dongbo Xueying immediately addressed her.
Cheng Lingshu’s face lit up with a bright smile.
“Xueying, sit down first. Let me introduce everyone. Three more will arrive shortly—they’re also from Anyang Province,” Chi Qiubai said. “We all come from the same province, so naturally, we should support each other! If we, from the same Transcendent organization and the same province, do not stand together, who else will support us?”
“Indeed,” Dongbo Xueying nodded.
He could sense the warm camaraderie among them, and the leader of this group was clearly Chi Qiubai. Dongbo Xueying felt that Chi Qiubai naturally exuded a leadership aura that made others want to stand by him.
Soon enough,
The remaining three Transcendents arrived one after another.
The ten Transcendents of Anyang Province were now all gathered. They were: Chi Qiubai, Pengshan, Dongbo Xueying, Cheng Lingshu, Dong Yu, Wu Kui, Zong Tu, Ba Ming, Ziche Gufeng, and Hai Ruzhen.
Among them, three were Transcendent mages.
There were eight men and two women, with varying ages. The eldest was Demon Blade Knight Pengshan, who was already over a thousand and one hundred years old.
