Chapter 2003: Supreme Transformation

Shi Hao’s heart was shattered with grief, his hair disheveled as he gazed up at the sky, a trail of blood staining the corner of his eye. He roared with a despair that seemed to ripple through the heavens, his voice like thunder, shaking the myriad realms. His aura was overwhelming, unstoppable.

Those he knew, those he didn’t—powerful figures one after another had fallen. In this vast world, few of his contemporaries remained. Even his own child had perished, reduced to blood and soul, a tragedy that cut deep. In this chaotic era, where blood sacrifices were made, he could only watch helplessly, consumed by sorrow.

Standing at the pinnacle of a Quasi-Immortal Emperor, he should have been able to look down upon the heavens, unrivaled across time. Yet, he could not see his loved ones, could not protect his child. His old friends, his elders—one by one, they were sealed away, dead or wounded, their fates sealed in ruin.

This was a brutal era. The kings of the world wailed in grief, their blood staining the earth, their ends tragic and pitiful. The once-glorious Immortal Domain, now in decline, was cracking apart, on the verge of destruction.

The twilight of bloodshed, the twilight of gods, the twilight of immortals—all that was passionate, brilliant, mighty, and eternal… those people, those legacies, those great clans, those myths—were crumbling.

The end of an era.

The fall of a civilization.

The conclusion of an epoch.

Shi Hao was consumed by hatred, fighting until he was drenched in blood, his mind unhinged. How could he not feel anguish? How could he not have regrets? All his passion, all his fury, poured into this battle!

In the Sea of Realms, waves surged, corpses floating amidst the churning waters, stirred by the sonic waves unleashed by the Quasi-Immortal Emperors.

Three Quasi-Immortal Emperors struck simultaneously, surrounding Shi Hao, seeking to halt his transformation, fearing that he might truly ascend to the rank of Immortal Emperor in this lifetime.

Such a thing was unimaginable—they could never allow it.

“Die!”

The Feather Emperor flapped his sacred wings, radiant light raining down as if clad in an undying battle garb. Gripping the Emperor-Slaying Spear, he thrust toward Shi Hao with all his might.

The Feather Emperor was peerlessly powerful, his aura shattering the heavens. In the Sea of Realms, each wave represented a ruined world, now crumbling under the torrent of his light.

The spear, crimson as blood, was terrifying in its might. Its tip was wreathed in the river of time, piercing through eternity, arriving before Shi Hao with unstoppable force.

*Clang!*

Shi Hao swung his immortal sword, meeting the spear in a clash that obliterated the space around them. The Sea of Realms exploded, chaos flooding the battlefield.

The two figures clashed again, their sword beams and spear strikes flashing like lightning, one after another, carving destruction through the void.

Then, blood rained from the sky, and visions of the heavens manifested—the Sea of Realms was evolving.

Within it, races rose and fell, mighty beings perished, scenes of creation and apocalypse unfolded—all echoes of the past.

*Boom!*

The battlefield erupted as the two titans collided.

This was the World Sea, where each wave was a realm unto itself. Yet, under their terrifying might, the towering waves and the surrounding ocean were on the verge of being evaporated.

“Die!”

The Azure Emperor struck, his colossal form towering over the Sea of Realms, as if he had existed for countless eons. His body radiated cryptic symbols, forming tangible patterns of the Great Dao.

Here, he erected an altar—an altar forged from the infinite ruined worlds of the past. The entire Sea of Realms resonated, forming an unprecedented, grand sacrificial platform.

“Annihilation of the Ten Directions!”

He roared, sharing the Feather Emperor’s goal—to stop Shi Hao’s transformation, to prevent him from becoming an Immortal Emperor!

With his bellow, the heavens trembled, winds and clouds churned, and within the Sea of Realms, an ancient altar emerged, vast enough to shatter the firmament.

It exuded a terrifying pressure, seeking to crush Shi Hao.

*Hum!*

Shi Hao’s Law Pool manifested, expanding to an immense size, as if it could swallow the entire Sea of Realms. It surged forward, suppressing the altar.

“Your life is forfeit!”

The Violet Emperor bellowed, purple qi surging from the east, erupting with boundless radiance. A majestic power enveloped him, elevating his being to its utmost brilliance, as if he were an emperor birthed from a violet sun.

With a metallic clang, the Violet Emperor donned a suit of violet armor—his essence, his magic, his spirit, all condensed into this form.

His foundational Dao runes circulated.

*Boom!*

Clad in his emperor’s armor, the Violet Emperor unleashed a torrent of violet light. His right hand, sharp as a blade, slashed toward Shi Hao, a beam of brilliance stretching for millions of miles, cleaving the Sea of Realms in two!

A battle of life and death.

Three Quasi-Immortal Emperors sought to halt Shi Hao’s transformation.

Now, Shi Hao’s body was stained with blood, wrapped in dazzling Dao symbols as he darted through the Sea of Realms, engaging the three emperors in a bloody melee.

His body bore more and more cracks, yet within, a vibrant vitality pulsed—he was indeed undergoing a transformation.

*Roar!*

Shi Hao bellowed, fighting desperately against the three emperors in his despair.

Thinking of all those who had died, those he would never see again, his hatred and rage ignited like fire. His battle intent boiled over, driving him to madness.

Blood splattered, his soul howled, his body trembled—his heart was filled with boundless fury, an endless killing intent erupting from within.

Shi Hao fought with his life, his power slowly increasing. Beneath his cracked skin, a crystalline glow shimmered, as if he were breaking free from the shackles of mortality, birthing a new, true self.

*Roar!*

The Feather Emperor shrieked, lightning flashing, blood raining as he sought to halt Shi Hao’s transformation. When a Quasi-Immortal Emperor fought with their life on the line, the specters of their past slaughters, the scenes of their world-ending destruction, manifested.

Though he appeared divine, with snow-white wings, how could a being who had ascended to Quasi-Immortal Emperor status have done so peacefully?

Shi Hao had already released his immortal sword, letting it clash with the Feather Emperor’s crimson spear while he himself formed fist seals, engaging the emperor in brutal combat.

*Splat!*

One of the Feather Emperor’s wings was torn off, blood gushing forth.

For Shi Hao’s power was slowly growing—a true transformation was underway. Unconsciously, his strength had surged, reaching its zenith.

The Feather Emperor howled, his back a bloody ruin. With one wing ripped away, the wound was ghastly, bone exposed, blood pouring uncontrollably.

Shi Hao, his eyes bloodshot, paid no heed. With his bare hands, he tore apart the sacred ancient wing and pressed forward, determined to eradicate the three scourges.

The three Quasi-Immortal Emperors fought back desperately, staking their lives.

“Your life is forfeit!” Shi Hao’s voice was low, his eyes crimson, his mind lost to madness. Little Stone had sacrificed himself, his old friends had fallen, the Immortal Domain was shattered—his despair ran deep. Now, he was in a strange state, as if possessed.

Yet, his killing intent was razor-sharp. He fixed his gaze on the Feather Emperor, determined to slay him, focusing his strongest attacks on the now one-winged foe.

*Boom!*

Waves surged, the Sea of Realms erupted.

This place was bathed in blinding radiance, fist light cutting through past, present, and future.

Shi Hao tore off the Feather Emperor’s remaining wing, blood cascading down, dyeing the Sea of Realms in a brilliant hue.

The Feather Emperor’s recently gathered essence was shattered once more, his blood energy dissipating!

“Ah—!” The Feather Emperor screamed in agony, thrashing violently as he struck at Shi Hao. Never had he suffered such humiliation.

After years of battle, Shi Hao had discerned the truth—the Feather Emperor’s power stemmed from his wings. They were his lifeblood. And so, Shi Hao had torn them apart.

In the process, Shi Hao had paid a price—his left shoulder pierced by the spear, his chest slashed by the Feather Emperor’s claws.

But it was worth it.

Now, the Feather Emperor had lost vast amounts of blood and energy, his body weakening.

Shi Hao pressed his advantage, his palm strikes and sword techniques intricate, breaking through eternity, dimming even the river of time.

*Thud!*

The Feather Emperor was sent flying, his body in tatters, riddled with dozens—no, hundreds—of sword wounds. His bones were fractured, his flesh split apart.

Yet, as a Quasi-Immortal Emperor, even with his skull cracked, he did not perish. He could still fight.

The other two emperors roared, fighting desperately to intervene.

If the Feather Emperor fell, their own fates would be sealed.

*Boom!*

Shi Hao kicked aside a tattered wing floating on the sea’s surface and punched toward the Violet Emperor, his fist colliding with the emperor’s violet-armored hand in a shower of sparks.

For now, the Violet Emperor stood in his way.

In the deafening collision, Shi Hao’s fist dripped blood—his own and his enemy’s.

The Violet Emperor’s pupils contracted, pain flashing across his face. His armor dimmed, especially around his hand, where the violet plating had shattered—his very essence, his Dao, had been wounded.

This armor, forged from his core power, was only used in the most critical battles. Now, it had been broken.

“Ah—!” the Violet Emperor bellowed.

Shi Hao, now a demon of battle, fought him relentlessly. Seizing the upper hand, he dodged the other two emperors and focused his attacks on the Violet Emperor.

Now, the Violet Emperor was his primary target!

The Feather Emperor was temporarily weakened, no longer a threat. Shi Hao aimed to eliminate the most dangerous foe first.

*Splat!*

Shi Hao’s fist finally punched through the Violet Emperor’s chest, shattering his body into pieces.

Shi Hao’s goal was not to kill him outright—that would take time, a slow grinding away of his essence. For now, he sought to cripple his combat power.

The Violet Emperor screamed, his injuries severe. His soul flame had been scattered, his condensed blood energy exhausted, all of it destroyed.

With his violet armor shattered, his very foundation was wounded.

“Die!”

Shi Hao charged through the Violet Emperor’s broken body, his eyes like two bloody lanterns in the darkness, his killing intent boundless as he locked onto the Azure Emperor.

In this life-and-death struggle, blood streaked from Shi Hao’s eyes, his once-calm face now twisted with fury.

For his child, for his brothers, for his old friends—he was now cold, ruthless, his emotions dulled, leaving only slaughter in his heart.

In the midst of battle, a head flew—Shi Hao had shattered the altar and decapitated the Azure Emperor, blasting his body apart.

Simultaneously, he lunged forward, launching a relentless assault on the three crippled emperors, seeking their utter annihilation.

Shi Hao’s body shed old skin, a vibrant vitality spreading through him. His grievously wounded form was slowly healing, a terrifying aura radiating outward.

“You will never succeed!”

The Feather Emperor roared. How could something unprecedented in all eternity happen to a mere upstart?

They were unwilling, resentful—but powerless to stop it. For they were barely holding on, weakened by Shi Hao’s ever-growing strength. If this continued, they would surely perish.

*Boom!*

At that moment, from a distant point in the river of time, several beams of light suddenly blazed with unparalleled brilliance, shooting forth radiant divine rays.

It was as if Shi Hao’s transformation was affecting other temporal domains!

In a silent corner of the universe, a mutilated corpse floated, its eyelids trembling as if struggling to open.

And then, the corpse spoke, its voice piercing into the Sea of Realms, slow and somber:

“Why must it be so? Why must you suffer?”
