The forest was dense, the mountains towering, and the spiritual energy was incredibly rich, with numerous waterfalls and streams. Along the way, Little Rascal dug up several precious herbs and tossed them into his Qiankun Bag. “We must be close now!” At that moment, he sensed an unusual aura—this place was devoid of any living creatures, not even ants. The surroundings were eerily silent, with no ferocious beasts daring to approach. Yet, the air was thick with vital energy, and dazzling rays of light shimmered in the distance.
All of this emanated from a majestic spiritual mountain ahead, towering and grand, inhabited by rare creatures and adorned with fragrant, precious herbs. The purple-clad girl moved cautiously, scaling the sheer cliffs like a dragon, her slender waist twisting gracefully as she ascended. “The mountain is laced with powerful restrictions, yet she dismantles them one by one without a sound—her mastery of glyphs is astounding!” Little Rascal followed behind, astonished by the formidable barriers along the path. An ordinary person would need months to make progress here, yet she dismantled them effortlessly.
Upon reaching the summit, he cautiously surveyed the area. A frigid pool lay before him, its icy waters as black as ink, emitting waves of bone-chilling cold. Such a pool was perfect for flood dragon beasts, and along its edge grew four spiritual herbs—Black Flood Dragon Grass—jet-black with a faint glow and a refreshing fragrance. This confirmed that powerful flood dragons had once dwelled here, likely more than one, given the dense draconic energy that nurtured these rare herbs.
“Where’s the divine beast?” Little Rascal wondered, hiding behind a boulder to observe. The mountaintop, aside from the pool, was strewn with massive rocks forming a stone forest. Soon, he heard movement—the purple-clad girl stealthily advanced into the stone forest, stopping before a cave that radiated a treasure-like glow.
“How can there be a pile of flood dragon bones?” Little Rascal was stunned. Among the stone forest, he spotted skeletal remains—belonging to flood dragons. Not just one or two, but over twenty in total. It was shocking. Flood dragons were descendants of ancient dire beasts, their bloodlines diluted but still formidable. Yet, some creature had preyed upon them.
Little Rascal shuddered, glancing back at the frigid pool. He realized it had been artificially created—a breeding ground for flood dragons. “What kind of terrifying being could wield such power?” The thought sent chills down his spine.
“Glutton meets his match, eh?” the mischievous stone whispered.
“This is different,” Little Rascal shook his head. If not for the gathering of prodigies here for trials, where else could he find such rare relics? Normally, they were nearly impossible to encounter. Yet, this creature feasted on flood dragons regularly—utterly terrifying!
The ancient cave was veiled in misty radiance. At its entrance grew a silver herb, glowing like a flickering flame, its leaves patterned like feathers. “Silver Feather Grass!” Little Rascal’s eyes widened. This was a top-tier spiritual herb, rumored to evolve further with age.
With five silver leaves shimmering with divine light and exuding an intoxicating fragrance, the herb was rooted in an auspicious aura. “This cave is extraordinary, and whatever dwells within must be immensely powerful.”
After a moment’s thought, Little Rascal retreated, first decisively uprooting the four Black Flood Dragon Grasses, then returning to the stone forest to pocket the Silver Feather Grass as well. “Whatever’s inside, securing these five herbs makes this trip worthwhile.”
Back in the outside world, such herbs were nearly impossible to find.
*Boom!*
A deafening explosion erupted from the cave—the restrictions had been triggered. The purple-clad girl coughed up blood but quickly stabilized herself, her mastery of glyphs allowing her to counter the backlash.
Little Rascal ventured deeper, shocked by what he saw. The cave was arranged like a bird’s nest, lined with golden silk grass and embedded with glowing bones.
“Such extravagance!” he muttered.
The girl, bathed in holy light, wielded a small golden horn, shattering the ground and destroying several embedded bones. “What a waste!”
“Hmm, nothing here?” she frowned, finding the nest empty.
Little Rascal was equally disappointed. “How do I deal with these pesky humans?” she muttered, clearly frustrated.
Little Rascal scratched his head. “She’s plotting against me?”
Originally, he had planned to leave quietly, but now he hesitated. “I’ve always wanted a young ancient dire beast… and you’re it!”
In a flash, he lunged onto her back, wrapping his arms around her neck and attempting to subdue her with his Qiankun Bag.
“Ah—!” The girl nearly spat blood in rage. Revered as a divine maiden, she was untouchable—yet this brat treated her like a wild beast, wrestling and tussling with her shamelessly.
“Get in here!” Little Rascal clung to her, one hand around her swan-like neck, the other holding the glowing Qiankun Bag, trying to trap her inside.
“Damn brat!” She trembled with fury, her divine ornaments resisting the bag’s pull.
As their struggle intensified, Little Rascal bit down on her earring, refusing to let go.
“Mine!” he growled.
“You—!” She shrieked, her flawless image shattered.
Their battle escalated, rolling across the ground, until—
*Boom!*
The mountain split open, revealing a hidden chamber with a glowing cocoon.
Seizing the opportunity, Little Rascal snatched the cocoon and fled.
“Thief! Stop right there!” The girl gave chase, her divine aura flaring, her flawless skin glowing with rage.
The hunt was on.
