Chapter 801: Iron Guardian

As the profound aura, subtly tinged with a hint of chilling cold, spread from the depths of the Myriad Scorpion Sect, the battles in the sky and on the ground gradually came to a halt. The strong fighters on both sides cast doubtful glances toward the source of the aura. Apart from a select few, it seemed that not many knew the origin of the owner of this energy. Even some of the Battle Emperor rank powerhouses, upon sensing this energy, found their faces turning ashen. They realized that the enormity of this aura far surpassed theirs, almost rivaling that of Little Healer Immortal and Scorpion Bisyan. At such a critical juncture, the appearance of such a significant powerhouse could be enough to tip the scales of this war!

In the distant sky, two figures crossed paths and suddenly stopped. The battle between Little Healer Immortal and Scorpion Bisyan also paused at this moment. After the intense fight, both of their auras were somewhat volatile. The terrifying combat energy swirled around them, causing the space to tremble incessantly. Little Healer Immortal’s gaze swept toward the source of the immense aura, her pupils slightly contracting as she thought, “Finally, that person is making an appearance, huh…”

“Heh, Poison Lady, didn’t you expect it? Our Myriad Scorpion Sect has a Battle Sect-level expert. Today, I want to see if you can take on two of us!” Scorpion Bisyan thumped his cane against the void, his voice coldly laughing.

Little Healer Immortal glanced at him indifferently, then turned her gaze to where Xiao Yan was. Just in time, the latter also noticed, and their eyes met. Xiao Yan nodded to her, gesturing for her not to be distracted by this.

As Xiao Yan and Little Healer Immortal exchanged glances, from the depths of the Myriad Scorpion Sect, a thick black smoke surged out. It swiftly soared towards the battlefield like a demon riding a cloud, and after several flashes, it stopped directly in the sky. The black fog slowly contracted, finally transforming into a shadowy figure whose face couldn’t be discerned.

“Ha ha, Scorpion Bisyan, you couldn’t handle her either, huh…” The shadow hovered in the air, its gaze sweeping across the sky before it let out a eerie laugh.

“Haha, Elder Tie is joking. This poison sect’s leader is no ordinary person. Even I have to admit, reaching such a level at her age is no easy feat. However, today’s battle is extremely important to our Myriad Scorpion Sect, so I had to request Elder Tie’s assistance,” Scorpion Bisyan smiled, though there was a clear hint of apprehension in his words towards the mysterious shadow.

“Helping out is fine, but you should be aware of the price, right?” said the dark figure, its low, hoarse voice echoing in the sky as tendrils of black mist occasionally rose from its body.

Upon hearing this, Scorpion Bisyan’s expression visibly changed. However, he gritted his teeth and chuckled, “Elder Tie, rest assured. You will receive everything you need.”

“Eh,” Elder Tie faintly nodded, then his gaze slowly moved to the chaotic battlefield. With a cold sneer, his figure stirred, and in a rattle of chains, pitch-black restraints shot out from his body, coiling and entangling behind him.

“As I thought, it was you!” Little Healer Immortal glared at the shadow, speaking coldly and slowly.

“I gave you an opportunity, but regrettably, you didn’t seize it. We could have had a great partnership, but since you insisted on ruining it, I’ll have to find a new partner,” Elder Tie said, sparing a glance at Little Healer Immortal.

“You might not get that chance!” Little Healer Immortal laughed coldly.

“Oh, really?” Elder Tie countered with a chilly smile, then spoke to Scorpion Bisyan with a voice dripping with malice, “Stall her while I collect the souls of these toxin experts. Then, I’ll deal with her!”

With those words, Elder Tie’s hand moved sharply, and the two black chains circling around him shot out, slicing through the sky at a speed that bewildered the eye. Thud! Thud! The two chains burst forth, forcing the many toxin experts to scatter in fear. Yet, the black chains, seemingly imbued with intelligence, twisted oddly in the air before piercing through the chests of two Dou Wang-level experts.

As the black chains quivered, they lifted the lifeless corpses of the two wide-eyed, terrified men high into the air. Amidst the swirling black mist, they forcibly extracted the ethereal soul bodies from within the two Dou Wangs, devouring them into the chains. The lifeless corpses were then casually discarded.

“Ordinary souls are indeed inferior to those of alchemists. If it weren’t for the ‘Pill Pagoda’ people in the central region, killing them would be a quick job…” Elder Tie muttered, shaking his head in regret.

While Elder Tie was muttering, the toxin experts were all frightened by his terrifying act and hastily retreated. A Battle Sect-level expert was not something they could fathom. Even if they attacked together, they would only become corpses adorning the chains.

Xiao Yan gazed at the suspended Elder Tie in the sky, his expression slightly dark. From Scorpion Bisyan’s address, it seemed this person was of the same rank as Elder Gu. But despite being of the same rank, Xiao Yan’s keen soul perception could detect that Elder Tie’s strength was weaker than Elder Gu’s. Nonetheless, regardless of how weak, he was still an authentic Battle Sect, and with the various strange methods of the Hall of Souls, defeating him would be quite a challenge.

“Heh heh, kid, finally feeling scared, huh? I told you, your poison sect will never escape the hands of my Myriad Scorpion Sect today!” Seeing Xiao Yan’s darkened expression, Scorpion Shan thought he was intimidated by Elder Tie and sneered.

Xiao Yan glanced at the smug Scorpion Shan with furrowed brows, then let out a cold laugh.

Seeing Xiao Yan still daring to be defiant, Scorpion Shan’s anger flared. Baring his teeth at Xiao Yan, he then respectfully addressed Elder Tie, “Elder Tie, this man is from the poison sect, quite formidable, having killed two Battle Emperor-level experts from my Myriad Scorpion Sect. Please, restrain him!”

“Mr. Yan Xiao, run!” The toxin experts, seeing Scorpion Shan’s actions, hurriedly shouted a warning.

“The members of the Myriad Scorpion Sect are truly getting worse. They can’t even handle a one-star Battle Emperor,” Elder Tie scoffed, glancing indifferently at Xiao Yan.

Scorpion Shan’s face turned from green to pale at Elder Tie’s words, but intimidated by his strength, he didn’t dare to retort. His fury was redirected at Xiao Yan, his eyes filled with malice.

After his mocking comment, Elder Tie fell silent. Glancing casually at Xiao Yan, he flexed his fingers, and the pitch-black chains around him suddenly shot out.

The chain transformed into a shadow, rushing down from the sky, its rattling sound like a death knell. As the black chain shot forward, Xiao Yan let out a cold laugh, silver light surging around him. His body flickered, moving in a strangely backwards motion, and a series of illusory aftershadows appeared.

Whoosh! The chain struck, but it hit only an afterimage, not Xiao Yan.

“Hmm?” Surprised at Xiao Yan evading the strike, Elder Tie snickered. Pointing a finger, the missed chain coiled like a viper and darted towards Xiao Yan again, chasing after him like a bolt of lightning.

Xiao Yan, enveloped in silver light, swiftly retreated, his heavy ruler tucked away into his ring. He took peculiar steps, each time narrowly dodging the chain’s assault.

In the sky, all the strong fighters were shocked to see Xiao Yan holding out against a Battle Sect-level expert for so long. Scorpion Shan’s face turned even darker after opening and closing his mouth.

As the chase continued without result, Elder Tie’s expression grew sour. He hadn’t expected Xiao Yan to be so elusive. Under such a fierce attack, even a typical peak Battle Emperor would be in dire straits, but this man deftly avoided the assault.

“Ha ha, young man, I underestimated you. No wonder you could kill two Battle Emperor,” Elder Tie sneered, rage bubbling over. His hand moved, black mist swirling around him, and a series of rattling sounds emerged. Suddenly, about seven or eight chains erupted from his body, intertwining in the sky, spreading out to chase Xiao Yan.

“But, let’s see how you’ll escape this time!” In the wake of Elder Tie’s menacing cry, the black chains formed an impenetrable net, blocking all of Xiao Yan’s escape routes. Now, Xiao Yan had no choice but to face the assault head-on. Yet, a Battle Emperor challenging a Battle Sect was a foregone conclusion.

Realizing evasion was futile, Xiao Yan ceased his meaningless resistance, furrowing his brow as the black chain rapidly expanded in his field of vision.

Sigh… Witnessing Xiao Yan’s dire situation, the toxin experts sighed internally, powerless to help. When that Battle Sect-level expert appeared, their morale plummeted. They knew that even if Little Healer Immortal was a Battle Sect, she would struggle to handle two opponents. And if she lost, the fate of the poison sect was evident.

Scorpion Shan’s face twisted with a cruel smirk, envisioning Xiao Yan’s grim fate… Amid countless gazes, the black chain approached fast, but just as it was about to strike Xiao Yan, the space around him suddenly warped. The perfectly aimed chain veered off, grazing past Xiao Yan and shooting past him.

The sudden scene caused a commotion. Astonished, Elder Tie roared, “Whoever that Battle Sect is, hiding here, I advise you not to meddle, or else…”

“Or else, what can you do?” A cold, faint voice responded, and a figure slowly materialized in front of Xiao Yan.
