Chapter 480: Grandmaster of the Seven Stars Duel

Invisible flames surged and burned within his heart, with streams of battle aura continuously flowing out from the crystal, only to be refined by the flames and then reabsorbed back into the vortex. Under this perfect cycle, the originally thumb-sized battle crystal had now grown to nearly the size of a pigeon’s egg, and the light it emitted was becoming increasingly radiant… The changes in the battle crystal naturally did not escape Xiao Yan’s attention. Although he was in a state of cultivation and unclear about how long he had been practicing, from the robustness of the battle aura within the crystal, he realized that he must have reached the peak of a six-star Great Battle Master. Perhaps it wouldn’t be long before he could truly enter the realm of a seven-star Great Battle Master!

The heart fire continuously rose from near his heart, providing Xiao Yan with an endless supply of refining energy. After prolonged operation, all the circulations within Xiao Yan’s body were now almost in an automatic process. The battle aura flowed out of the crystal without needing his conscious control, following the circulation route, passing through the flames, and finally returning to the crystal.

Xiao Yan was smart enough not to interrupt this rare automatic cultivation state. He maintained a tranquil mind, like an old monk in meditation, undisturbed by any external factors, merely observing the crystal as its light grew ever more brilliant…

Time was irrelevant during cultivation. When Xiao Yan’s slightly hazy mind was once again awakened by a strange fluctuation, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the diamond-shaped battle crystal in his vortex was emitting an unusual light, like a star.

This sudden behavior of the battle crystal left Xiao Yan somewhat baffled for a moment, but he quickly and joyfully realized that the opportunity for advancement had arrived. Suppressing the rising elation in his heart, Xiao Yan did not issue any commands to the battle crystal, instead, he observed its subtle movements with a detached mindset.

The diamond-shaped battle crystal hovered within the vortex, and suddenly, a suction force emanated from it. With this force, Xiao Yan noticed that the abundant battle aura still circulating in his meridians was being drawn, transforming into a surging flood, silently rushing towards the vortex in his abdomen.

Not only was Xiao Yan experiencing changes internally, but there was also a significant disturbance outside his body. As the battle crystal emitted the suction force, the energy surrounding Xiao Yan began to fluctuate rapidly. Moments later, waves of warm energy started to surge towards him, forming a faintly visible energy vortex around him.

Inside the cultivation chamber, the other four students were startled awake by the sudden commotion. When they saw the energy vortex on Xiao Yan’s body, they were stunned, followed by expressions of envy, clearly recognizing what this meant.

“This guy has been cultivating without rest or food for almost four days. What a freak…” one student muttered, watching Xiao Yan absorbing the surrounding energy crazily.

Ever since Xiao Yan entered the chamber four days ago, he had not moved at all. During these four days, the other four students had gone out to rest several times, but Xiao Yan continued to cultivate under their astonished gaze. If not for his steady breathing, they would have reported him to the tower master.

“I heard that this guy is the leading figure among this year’s new students. His name is Xiao Yan, and he is very strong. It’s said that even Fu Ao of the White Gang was defeated by him,” a girl with a delicate appearance carefully stated, her eyes fixed on Xiao Yan.

“So, he is Xiao Yan? I didn’t believe the rumors before, but now, it seems they are true.” Hearing this, the other three students were visibly surprised. Despite not being part of any faction, they were familiar with Xiao Yan’s reputation.

“Shh, keep your voices down. If we disturb his advancement, we’ll be in trouble…” the girl whispered, placing her finger to her lips.

“Okay.” The other three nodded, understanding the consequences of interrupting someone in the midst of an advancement.

Within the vortex, the battle crystal continued to emit a suction force, drawing all the battle aura from the meridians back into itself. The battle aura from outside the body, however, did not get immediately absorbed. Instead, it was guided through the invisible flames, refined, and circulated through the meridians once more before being absorbed into the crystal. This process, although uncontrolled, was perfectly executed, even surpassing Xiao Yan’s own capabilities.

As time passed, the suction force of the battle crystal became stronger, and the energy flowing into the body increased. If not for the continuous supply of the invisible flames, the refining process might have ceased due to energy depletion.

Under the command of the battle spirit, both internal and external processes proceeded smoothly. This was undoubtedly Xiao Yan’s most relaxed advancement, thanks to the invisible flames, allowing him to take a hands-off approach.

After about twenty minutes, the suction force gradually weakened, and the energy vortex around Xiao Yan faded away. The last thread of mixed energy passed through the invisible flames, shrinking significantly, and was ultimately absorbed back into the battle crystal.

With the final surge of battle aura, the trembling battle crystal solidified, emitting a brilliant light that illuminated every corner of his body. Under this strange, intense light, Xiao Yan felt a faint, soothing sensation in his meridians, bones, and even cells.

The intense light lasted for just a few seconds before fading. The enlarged, diamond-shaped battle crystal reappeared, releasing a stream of robust battle aura, which flowed through the meridians like a blue river, filling Xiao Yan with a sense of immense power.

Seeing the battle crystal, now nearly twice its original size, and feeling the vastly increased battle aura, Xiao Yan let out a long sigh of relief. All the hard work had not been in vain…

As his tense mind relaxed, Xiao Yan found it difficult to maintain his cultivation state. His soul grew heavy, and he soon withdrew from the meditative state.

In the spacious cultivation chamber, Xiao Yan slowly opened his eyes. A faint, blue glow flashed in his dark pupils. Lifting his head, he looked at the other four students, who quickly averted their gaze. Xiao Yan had just completed his advancement, and his aura was at its peak, far beyond what these newly advanced Great Battle Masters could match.

Ignoring the others, Xiao Yan exhaled deeply, his dark eyes becoming even deeper and clearer. He stretched his body, and after a moment, he retrieved the blue fire crystal card, glancing at it. To his surprise, it showed eight days’ worth of fire energy had been consumed.

“How long have I been cultivating?” Xiao Yan asked, frowning slightly at one of the students.

“Four days…” the student replied truthfully.

“Four days… no wonder…” Xiao Yan muttered, secretly pleased. In just four days, he had broken through to the seven-star level, something that would normally take months in the outside world.

“The Fallen Heart Flame truly has boundless mysteries… Just a projection can boost my speed so much. Imagine if I had access to the main body, how terrifying my cultivation speed would be!” Xiao Yan thought, standing up and walking out of the chamber. After four days of non-stop cultivation, it was time for a break.

Though diligent cultivation was good, Xiao Yan knew that too much of anything could be harmful.
