Chapter 1621: Hastening Forth

As the chilling and cold voice filled with killing intent from the figure draped in black cloak in the sky echoed around, Su Qian and others abruptly experienced a sharp change in face complexion.

“Launch a signal; inform Xiao Men!” Elder Su Qian commanded gravely. Those unknown intruders with formidable prowess, the majority among whom he could not even discern their strength and depth at all…

“Shoo!” By Su Qian’s side, Hu Jia solemnly gave a nod as well. Simultaneous to her nodding, a flare rocket sped through the air from her fingertips before exploding into vibrant flashes across the skies. Coincidental with its explosion, the sounds of someone breaking through wind arrived promptly from further out, and immediately afterward, scores of figures zipped through the air rapidly until finally appearing in front of them within the sky.

“Elder Su Qian Supreme Leader, why the alert?”, approached the leader from among the incoming ones, a middle–aged robust man, who stood fixedly staring in the black-draped beings overhead. They were protective guards established for Xiao Men’s permanent station in Jia Nan Academy’s institute, therefore it had been simple to come swiftly upon receipt of the alert.

“Some kind of trouble,” Su Qian solemnly declared, then focused sighted up to scan those airborne, hood-robed persons before politely extending his respect. “To whom do we owe the presence of those enigmatic experts today? Was there something done by Jia Nan Academy to have earned offense?”

“There can be said little grievance involved, you merely find yourself unlucky to dwell within this area,” Hun You softly grinned dismissively as he ignored the might recently arrived in haste.

“Such arrogance—those seeking to target Jia Nan Academy must get through the trials with Xiao Men’s permissions!” Responding coldly with an audible snort at such remarks instantly caused him to retaliate as dozens more standing behind vibrantly activated battle–spirit wings with potent energy radiating forth in forceful pressure that, while not feeble—was formidable.

“Just two individuals, ten seconds,” Hun You’s eyes cast offhandedly towards those of Xiao Men gathered as his slight grin became mockery as his robes flapping summoned forth two dark figures forward. Instant arrival placed these two directly amidst those positioned Xiao Men masters in but a moment, leaving those latter individuals no opportunity even beginning an offensive when multiple chains slashed across the space, and within a series of rapid metallic hissin’g—those experts bore holes piercing clean through their chests… Watching numerous Xiao Men masters effortlessly annihilated in barely a moment by two men alone, the complexion of the elder man whitened suddenly—his tone cracked in frightful disbelief, “Battle Sage level experts?”

“What grandiosity, to handle this petty locality?” Hun You interlocked both palms as he coolly proclaimed.

Through observation windows of Jia Nan, nearly every student stood mesmerized at skies, their lifelong martial objectives, the Battle Kings once revered, rendered entirely feeble at the mercy of a mysterious dark-cloaked duo?

“Gulp…” A significant number found paler countenances gripped stiff in sheer fright—the alarm rapidly transmitting through ranks.

“All elders, follow me into the action,” Elder Wu Hao narrowed eyes skyward, eyeing darkly robed silhouettes above intensely—an initial Star Battle Sage himself—he nonetheless sensed a crushing force emerging upon those silh outlined ahead, potentially placing a huge threat upon the Jia Nan Institution.

Nevertheless, whatever grave difficulties might appear, he would in no shape be stepping aside.

Upon resolving this mindset, Wu Hao’s visage turned fierce. As he cried his battle cry, he launched himself skyward. With a clenched hand, the heavy bladed great-sword at his back leapt from its sheath swiftly into grasp, radiating forth the heavy scent of ancient carnage with the sheer power released instantly.

Hearing the yell, countless elders sprang upward simultaneously, eyes watchful cautiously toward cloaked blackened silhouettes hovering above, scanning warily.

“Commence attack…” Smirking coldly Hun You’s hand was agitated again. From among his troop, five further dark robed individuals stepped. And their presence triggered a sudden surge of overwhelming power from the skies. A massive, terrifying aura reached Five Star Battle Sage level in strength that instantly suppressed Wu Hao and every other individual’s morale.

At the Black Core Territory, one who possesses battle sages was already considered formidable elites within the top rungs. Now however, the situation defies comprehension—as mysteriously these cloaked adversaries possess strength with each being equally formidable as these.

“Fight!,” knowing that the killing intent on their opposition’s face meant no negotiations, a shout broke from him, his crimson great-sword slashed powerfully, the massive red blade arc cutting through the air toward the quintuple figures above furiously.

“What amateurish skill!”

The Five adversaries burst with amused contempt while one among them nonchalantly poked an index out forward, a wave of dark energy piercily shot forth piercing all distances—immediately reducing the crimson slash to fragments. The residual shockwave speedily impacting Wu Hao sent him backward through the air rapidly. A torrential spill of crimson blood escaped his lips instantly, betraying his sudden defeat and wounding.

“Despicable villains!”

Witnessing Wu’s swift crushing, Elder Hushun’s spirit sank further while, within twinkling moments, leapt with his might in motion. A figure in movement intercepted Wu Hao safely before a powerful gush emitted from the man’s body—one even stronger than Hushun’s, clearly indicating how his cultivation and strength experienced much growth across the years since previously witnessed strength levels.

Even as Hushun engaged the action, from within the interior of Jia Nan’s Academy’s grounds two other immense forces emerged and roared outward from a different position. Moments passing, a sudden gleam pierced celestial space. Before all gathered, two ancient aged silhouettes took materialization, faces etched with discomfort upon scanning the dark envoys hovering above.

“Chief Elders Ba and Qian!” Observing those appearing now gave Elder Su a moment’s solace. The elders of Jia Nan’s two most formidable powers had reached Seventh Degree Battle Sages status—an equal might able to face a potential rival against an Eighth-tier Battle Sage alone together in tandem.

“You two emerged… please inform,” as soon these silhouettes appeared, gruff in tone they demanded information immediately as anxiety surfaced in their minds when assessing the skybound crowd—an unknown quantity with strengths so great had risen somewhere within the Black Core Territory when had it happened?

Su Qian let his mouth quirk bitterly while swiftly retelling past moments. And upon learning their stated objective: that these individuals aimed to totally eradicate Jia Nan—an immense anger surged forward at once from the two ancient souls despite usually composed personalities.

“Two Battle Sages of Seventh level—could barely satisfy an onlooker’s observation,” sneered Hun You dispassionately watching two ancients with disinterest while turning to glance at a person next. Then instructed them.

“Proceed—these appearances and showings of power in such sequential fashion have become an annoyance.”

With only a soft murmur, the accompanying figure gave out but the bare hint on a grin in return as simultaneously it stepped one foot outward. Upon impact the heavens and earth seemingly transformed dark, while immense energies—manyfold greater than two ancients’ total might burst outward violently like an incoming typhoon in an enormous, all-encompassing wave emanating from that being’s presence.

Upon this presence all faces turned pallid—including those two ancients.

“Battle—Sage of Divinity?” Staring numbly at the slim appearance of one figure in the darkness; both Ba and Qian involuntarily trembled. None had laid eyes truly upon a Dividing God-level combatant across their entire existence. Still the actual overwhelming pressure made it crystal clear the truth: against this figure, they were little beyond being a single strike’s opponent.

A cold wry chuckling came from deep beneath Su Qian’s heart, thinking. Under the overwhelming pressure of even Divinity tier strength, any willpower regardless how indurate became naught in comparison.

The entirety of the campus held no voice any longer, while many did not grasp what extent the opponent above had reached—they could deduce solely with the expressions of Su Qian and the elders, it was clear they represented utter despair for them all. In a moment of time, the spread panic and sheer horror swept through all present like a plague.

The originally jubilant celebration had turned to the feeling of apocalypse.

“Regarding Master, we are uncertain exactly where Jia Nan has done an injustice?”

The ancients’ hoarse tones spoke with the last hope they had retained.

“By connecting relationships, that very act serves as greatest injustice,” responded coldheartily the divinely-ascended adversary while pointing toward Xiao Yan’s stone effigy—a glare sharp with icy murder in eyes.

“Though, not only were matters connected thus—their result would have remained same.”

Upon conclusion of this sentence, the combatant’s laughter became laced in mirth and teasing over tones.

“Well enough idle delay…” Hun’s brows knit into tight frown over this event before barking forthly.

“Fine.” The divine-tier combat artist chuckled and nodded as, fingers flexed—ripples through spatial fabric unfolded, two threads brimming with savage power lurch forward like streak lighting. Their targets struck were the two revered elders mid-air, both barely managed their defenses in response when sudden collapse over took shields entirely—gravity struck in unbearable force while mouths spat out torrents of blood instantly onto the floor.

Watching their own seniors felled from merely just two casual strikes, everyone became paralyzed by terror.

“This effigy of his is truly an eyesore.”

With an easy dispatch of two elders, the divine figure’s sights fell again upon the effigy before its icy hatred flared anew; if Xiao Yan never existed, the Hall of the Phantom Souls (Hunan Faction) would not have suffered its downfall!

“Hmph,” as killing aura reached a climax the divine master’s enormous hand shot forward—forming, hundreds of yards large—a colossal energy hand out in the air and slammed violently toward the sculpture idol.

Witness this devastating movement, every onlooker held only sheer desperate looks—surely Jia Nan Academy would be facing annihilation and obliteration.

With all spectators eyes following breathlessly, a cataclysmic thundering impact occurred.

“Listen in Elder Hua, Xiao Yuf and others—I shall do all within our abilities while the elders here try distracting these beings… flee now while leading other juniors out as much as you may manage,” Su Qian’s pale face took breath deep and hard speaking toward Hua beside him.

“Either fate binds in unity!” Tight gripping the huge blade, Elder Hua resolutely affirmed. Similarly, Xiao Yu tightened her lips, her vision fixed still at the colossal statue struck with impact before blinking in shocked realization calling out loudly,“The effigy was undamaged by that strike!”

With hearing her exclamation all eyes refocused their sights and to collective surprise indeed discovered—in dispersing the aftermath remnants of dust, the massive sculpt remained intact standing firmly within the large courtyard.

Confusion struck all present for this individual’s attack moments beforehand had powerfully been able to not only decimate even grand structures as a small mountain—if destroyed instantly without resistance—so then why did this sculpture stand unaffected?

“Hmmm—what is happening?” The divine ranked assailant froze, stunned for several seconds.

“Quick—retreat Hun Chi!” As soon had he uttered this cautionary cry; suddenly a grave shock spread over Hun You before shouting loudly in alarm.

“Even a mere half-immortal dare to deface my effigy?”

And precisely after he had cried his warning forth; a steady yet calm voice suddenly echoed throughout the effigy, a subtle wind carried dissipating haze, clearing revealing a dark silhouette perched alone at sculpt’s peak.

Draped figure standing one handed behind, facing outward with the other, extended toward the Hall of Phantom’s deity warrior before gently but deliberately clenched into a grip.

That single squeeze, suddenly made the battle saintly foe—hitherto capable singlehandedly suppressing all Jia Nan’s strength—barely letting a final cry out before detonating outright into sprays of crimson fog and dismemberment in pure thin air.

Shock overwhelmed countless witnesses with disbelief plastered onto each individual’s gaze, fixer upon singular standing figure at effigy heights watching the entire destruction. An elite divine warrior—killed on the spot in this fashion?

“Elder Xiao Yan?”

Yet amid the shock and chaos among all people—abruptly screamed out by stunned Hun-You whose reaction like beholding a specter—his body rapidly leaping into retreat while his shriek echoed terrifyingly all over the skies.

At this voice of an already not unfamiliar figure, murmured throughout all who heard as all stunned ones again struck motionless.

Elder Xiao Yan, was his name.

One hailed legendary student leaving behind a brilliant legacy within the histories of Jia Nan’s halls?
