On the mountain peak stood a solitary figure with his hands clasped behind his back. Looking toward the void with quiet amusement was the Void Devouring Flame Emperor. Dressed entirely in white, he cut a bizarre figure in this dreary realm soaked in darkness. Regardless, not a single person dared question him. In every gaze directed toward the man lay blind worship interwoven with awe—a reverence befitting a supreme existence: Hun Tian Di, the chief of the Hun Clan.
As Hun Tian Di took a step forward, he appeared before the Void Devouring Flame Emperor. Regarding the being before him for a long moment, hun Tian Di smiled slightly. “Well done. After overcoming so many tribulations, finally your soul has ascended to the Emperor Realm.”
“Hahahaha!” the Void Emperor erupted into uncontrollable gales of laughter. For entities such as he, achieving such transcendence in spiritual force was a feat of insurmountable difficulty. Yet with years spent by Hun Ci on accumulating numerous Spirit Cores, the massive power reservoir channeled toward that singular purpose enabled them uplift the flame-being directly into supremacy—at a rather prodigious cost. After all, much of Hun Ci’s countless years’ worth of acquired Spiritual Essence had been devoured in the making.
Still, the Flame Emperor’s standing was lofty within the Hun lineage. There were none foolish or arrogant enough to raise grievance.
“As they say, nothing is reaped without toil,” stated the void entity, meeting Hun Tian Di’s gaze steadily. He gave voice to his conviction: “Now, I possess the power equivalent of a worthy opposition to Gu Yuan for a period. And between both our forces together…defeating him should prove no significant challenge.”
Hun Tian Di gave off a thin smile while his eyes glittered with fervor, whispering, “Then it seems the hour has sounded for us to locate the ancient retreat of Tu She Gu Di.”
“With opening access to this domain and seizing the prototype Emperor Pills hidden within…” the Flame Emperor’s mouth twitched appreciations at the image, his eyes ablaze—”you shall harness that ancient legacy, stepping beyond millennia boundaries no soul has breached, ascending as the single most potent lifeform between these heavens and earth!”
Satisfied nods came next.
“Do remember our past vows, soul-bound pact demands remembrance… I still have my own needs to meet deep within his dwelling,” the Void Emperor inserted slyly.
“Such an enterprise lies beyond deception, for you and your will flow in tandem with Hun Ci,” offered Hun Tian Di with serenity. “Indeed, if this sacred place holds that treasure of value to you—I would personally obtain it as part of our alliance’s due.”
The Flame Emperor inclined himself contented then, aware his aid across generations was the pillar that sustained the power they wielded and so, justifiably, his desires came with prerogatives.
“Humph… Tu She Gu Di… the memory still festers,” the flame muttered, cold amusement curling his mouth before fading, shifting back into serious attentiveness fixed now at Hun Tian Di. The Hun leader merely lifted his sleeve as eight ancient jade relics emerged with a floating, measured grace.
Now hovering over his crown, these ancient tablets projected a glow as gentle radiance interlaced among them, weaving complex hues and an unearthly hum. Hun Tian Di’s pupils contracted fiercely with desire one last second before a sharp bite on his tongue sent a crimson offering aloft.
A resolute “hum” broke from the eight talismans then—no longer passive stones emitting soft light—for when the life essence painted their polished surfaces, the glow erupted exponentially as runes began slithering along their surface with arcane motion.
“The eight shards of Tu She once sundered and lost over epochs, let me be the reknitting hand that weaves destiny anew.” Gazing at the mystical phenomena, a quiet smirk danced at the Hun leader’s words, and with one fluid motion of his will, his fingers closed tightly in summoning grip.
“Shiiik!” At this signal commanding unity, they collided toward the fates once preordained, unshattered yet pulsating like merging tides under interlacing energy. In that moment a sudden convergence formed.
“Uummm…” The harmonic buzzing swelled and surged as the jade pieces pressed into unison—finally uniting together upon three resonant ‘clicking’ sounds.
Light erupted in cascading beams as eight stones fused—what now appeared was fully restored jade tablet larger than an outspread palm. Suspended there midair stood history, whole anew.
With reassembly now attained, the jade exhaled a breath of archaic might—one redolent in ages forgotten, of wild, primal epochs long passed into lore… From the now unified stone, a soft haze lifted sky-ward, twisting into spectral formation before crystallizing into ghostform resembling elder—its body draped in black, multicolored tresses defying time itself with each flaming shade.
Plain in face, this form belayed a piercing vision—a gulf of starlit infinite gazing with judgment. Merely that single glance sent tremors racing within lesser entities, the Hun Tian Di himself no exception as even might like unto his felt the soul shiver.
Tu She Gu Di—the sole being across creation capable of forcing even Tian Di into trembling awe—last and most transcendent among warrior lords upon Qi’s realm. The one that stood now, the ultimate emperor from ancient days, the fabled last: Tu She. Within this world that was Hun’s dominion, but few stood firm to resist his presence, those beyond prostrated wholly. Just the impulse to raise the eyes even modestly met a crushing force that could burst the defiant utterly.
The oppressive will dwarfed even Hun Tian Di’s command.
Fear was now the solitary response kindled within every soul.
“Hmph… Illusion and pretense… merely a residual echo! Yet again he dares flaunt false authority.” Clearly irked at the uneasiness returning so long undisturbed by an ancient, Hun Tian Di snarled at the apparition and struck fiercely—hand snatching in wrath directly at that image… Then—just as his will crashed through, his face suddenly paled, recoiling in shock—immediately a horrifying force booomed back with vengeance. That backlash lashed into Hun without mercy, casting him backward violently—three hundreds yards in flight before stabilizing, fuming, eyes burning.
“Tread with discretion,” muttered the Void Entity. “Even residual, it is Tu She’s lingering will alone which imprints upon the void.”
Even as he gave that counsel though his expression betrayed cold contemplation, his sharp teeth clenched and the void fire’s glare burned deep.
Hun Tian Di’s features darkened, retreating with a sharp leap back as he glowered—great leader of countless clans shrewd in diplomacy; he was none too pleased to take setback public.
“What then… how we dismiss this shadow?” he inquired, annoyance thickening his tone.
“Let patience rule. Within these twin orbits of the phantom lies concealed Tu She Gu Di’s hidden domain.” Hearing this revelation by the Flame Emperor, Hun’s gaze sharpened back.
“Hmm…” He focused deeply as his view fixed onto the phantasm’s eyes… yet all at first were blurry whispers, uncertain in form.
“Indeed formidable is Tu She Gu Di, devising a safeguard like no more. Only if his pact is fully grasped, merely possessing eight shards can never unlock entrance…” Hun admitted the master move. Not a soul of lesser status would perceive nor pierce this concealment.
“Void Emperor—may I appeal you for your hand in uncovering the key?”
With a nod of acknowledgment, flame’s orbs darkened into obsidian, narrow twin beams shooting forth directly into the ghostly eyes. A refraction rippling outward then—its return projection: an image multiplied manyfold in grandeur now unfurling across sky’s expanse.
“This…” Hun squinted hard toward the apparition. Vast new lands unseen stretched within this revelation—an expanse unknown even by eye of chief over continent’s knowledge.
The projection roved across mountains first nearby this unfamiliar domain before suddenly diving into the land—descending deep beneath soil where magma seas expanded infinitely, oceans of liquid fire undulating beneath an endless crimson sky.
“This region… it must rest entirely underground!” Hun’s features furrowed deeper, for while this magma world was confirmed… still its terrestrial anchor eluded certain grasp.
Yet deeper the lens descended into these flaming oceans where, gradually… a bizarre kind of reptilian entity appeared with eyes fierce and bloodied.
As those entities swam and scuttled forth upon its surface… the depths beyond began shifting and parting—finally there emerged a colossal stone edifice veiled deep below the waves—its summit bore inscribed characters, four ancient glyphs that proclaimed:
“Emperor Gu’s Sanctuary!”
Click! The instant Hun Tian Di’s eyes captured recognition of those half-glimpsed letters… the imagery ceased… and yet Hun exhaled softly. Passion inflamed, desire ablaze within him.
“What do you make of it? I cannot recall ever traversing nor beholding this realm’s presence,” he mused aloud in turn, glancing toward the flame-king.
“Same here…” murmuring the latter, expression shadowed. “This continent is expansive indeed—true. The imagery may encompass a general scope; locating the pinpoint would likely elude us unless assisted.”
Hun Tian Di remained pensive.
Yet shortly summoned—four figures of Hun clan elite emerged. Without delay or hesitation, he surveyed them briefly before issuing cold command.
“Record every single topographical detail from the footage shown. Relay it to the remaining kin beyond, deploy all available intelligence channels. Scour the regions methodically, every site—confirm its identity with finality. Should they fail that quest… no return will await them at Hun borders.”
At these orders, the four elite figures hastily bowed and rushed to their tasks—promptness paramount lest retribution swift follow.
“There’s likely already eyes cast our way… that old monkey watches ceaselessly,” interjected suddenly the Void emperor, voice grave.
“Undoubtedly he suspects. But let them only watch,” countered the Hun chief.
Turning once again, he set eyes on the jade tablet gleaming sky-bound.
“So much toil and cunning, to piece you once entire… Yet still your last secret remains…”—a whisper to stone, yet edged like challenge:—”I defy disbelief… until your hidden sanctum lays plain before Hun Tian Di!”
