Chapter 142: Assault on the Fiery Front

To know that both airships were rocking violently, in such a situation, even the top archers of the Gao Hu tribe could not hit a vital spot with a single shot. Only a legendary archer might have a chance.

Qian Ye, with one hand gripping the tether of the airship’s gasbag and the other holding a gun, shook his head, dissatisfied with the result. He had originally aimed for the control room of the opposite airship, but at the moment he pulled the trigger, a strong gust of wind made the patrol boat shift, and he only hit one of the thrusters on the side.

Qian Ye aimed again. The howling wind made it impossible for anyone below the rank of a War General to stand on the top of an airship; even an ordinary War General would find it difficult to move. However, this test was nothing to Qian Ye, who had activated his blood core. He re-aimed at the patrol boat’s cockpit, a deep blue light gleaming in his eyes.

In his true vision, the movements of the patrol boat slowed down, and the paths of the gale became visible. Qian Ye’s right hand moved slightly, the gun’s sight shifting to a point above and to the side of the cockpit, then he pulled the trigger!

Another line of fire cut through the night sky. The gale tossed the patrol boat, causing it to bounce upward, and what would have been a miss now turned into a bullet that perfectly shot through the window of the control room, blowing off half the commander’s head and shattering the rudder.

This shot pleased Qian Ye greatly. Glancing at the now uncontrolled patrol boat, he climbed down and returned to the cabin.

Hei Yue looked at Qian Ye with a complicated expression and said, “You’re really powerful. Our Level 4 enhanced warriors might not be your match.”

“Level 4 enhanced warriors? What level are they equivalent to?” Qian Ye asked casually while beginning to sort out the tethers.

“Our Level 4 enhanced warriors can rival the Earls of the Dark Races, and can defeat their First-Rank Viscounts.”

“Oh, so powerful?”

“Yes. Each time an enhanced warrior advances, their combat power jumps significantly.”

“That is quite interesting.” Qian Ye gave Hei Yue a surprised glance. He was not astonished by the combat power of the enhanced warriors but by Hei Yue’s keen observation. This young girl had inadvertently estimated Qian Ye’s exact combat strength, which could not be explained merely by coincidence.

Qian Ye took out a map, pointed at a spot, and said to Hei Yue, “In ten minutes, navigate the airship to this location. I’ll be waiting there.”

“What if we encounter another patrol boat?” Hei Yue asked.

“Try to shake them off, at least until you pick me up.” Saying this, Qian Ye opened the hatch, threw the tether out, and watched it rapidly descend into the bottomless night sky.

As soon as the hatch opened, a biting cold wind rushed in, so strong that it made it difficult for an ordinary person to speak. Hei Yue raised her voice and shouted, “What are you going to do now?”

“Below is the Nan Gong family’s base. I’m going to give them a little gift.” With that, Qian Ye leaped out of the hatch, speeding towards the ground in the darkness.

Hei Yue poked her head out of the hatch and looked down. The earth was hidden in the vast darkness, with only faint lights visible, and the rest was an endless black. She grabbed a special pair of goggles from her backpack and put them on, adjusting the knobs. The view in the goggles quickly zoomed in and enlarged.

On the ground, two rows of neat barracks and several airships were parked on one side, forming a clearly visible airship base. The lights of the two airships were all on, with many people running around, preparing for takeoff to chase after their old airship.

Qian Ye was falling rapidly through the air. When the tether swung close, he grabbed it, easing his descent and allowing his body to float. When the tether reached its highest point, Qian Ye released it, falling like a meteor, still a hundred meters above the ground!

Many soldiers of the Nan Gong family on the ground saw the airship flying by with a person hanging beneath it. They watched in shock as Qian Ye let go of the tether, plunging down from a hundred meters high, heading diagonally towards a military patrol boat that was just starting up.

With a roar, Qian Ye fell like a cannonball, crashing through the top of the patrol boat and smashing into the cabin. Beneath him, several crew members who didn’t have time to escape were crushed by deformed metal frames and steel blocks, broken and dead.

At the hatch, several crew members who narrowly escaped stared in disbelief as Qian Ye stood up unscathed. They suddenly snapped out of their shock, screamed, and ran away.

Qian Ye had no interest in chasing these small fry. Kicking open another hatch, he entered the control room. The layout was familiar, indicating it was a newer, lighter model of patrol boat developed in the last three decades, a type rarely seen on the Eternal Night Continent.

Qian Ye placed two grenades on the control panel and then burst through the window. Behind him, the control room burst into flames, fire shooting out several meters. The more advanced the model, the more complex the control system. With the control room destroyed, the patrol boat would not be taking off anytime soon.

Qian Ye turned and walked toward another patrol boat preparing to take off, moving with deceptive speed. Soft thunder rumbled in the night sky, and several soldiers who tried to stop him fell to the ground, without Qian Ye even lifting a hand.

The Nan Gong family soldiers who saw this scene paused in their charge. This young man was like a demon god, and those who approached him died without knowing how.

In a blink, Qian Ye boarded the patrol boat, and again burst through the window. The control room of this patrol boat also caught fire.

Several seasoned and ruthless soldiers rushed out, shooting and advancing toward Qian Ye. Under their lead, the soldiers who were initially frozen in fear began to form an encirclement.

Qian Ye showed no intention of avoiding the fight, heading directly toward the attackers. He walked calmly through the hail of bullets, each step causing his figure to flash, dodging most of the projectiles.

A few unavoidable bullets were simply taken head-on. As long as they weren’t from a high-level original force gun, Qian Ye’s skin would flex, deflecting the bullets, leaving only a red mark even from a large-caliber round.

In his true vision, he could see almost all the movements of the soldiers, the attack trajectories crisscrossing. He only needed to adjust his steps slightly to dodge the most dangerous ones.

Qian Ye raised his right hand, his fingers snapping, and a series of air bullets shot out, hitting soldiers in the throat or between the eyes, sending them toppling backward.

In an instant, the area around Qian Ye cleared, and the Nan Gong family’s private army no longer dared to approach.

Qian Ye took two more grenades, weighed them, and threw them at an airship parked a distance away. Despite being beyond the normal range of the grenades, they whistled through the air with unusual speed, following a nearly straight trajectory, striking the airship with ease.

“Insolent!”

A tall figure appeared in front of Qian Ye, roaring, and the two grenades were blasted apart by a powerful burst of original force.

The fire from the airship still blazed, silhouetting the figure like a mountain, striding toward Qian Ye. As soon as this person appeared, a misty haze enveloped the area, and Qian Ye felt his original force sluggish, his node lights dimming.

This was the famous domain of the Nan Gong family, the Original Force Suppression. Within this domain, unless using the special techniques of the Nan Gong family, one’s original force would be suppressed. Although claiming to completely suppress original force was exaggerated, it was still a first-rate domain.

“Daring to cause trouble in front of me, Nan Gong Xiaoyue, you have some nerve—”

Before he could finish, Nan Gong Xiaoyue’s eyes widened in shock!

Countless spider-web-like cracks appeared on the ground beneath Qian Ye, and a visible wave spread in all directions. With a crackling sound, the domain’s restrictive force shattered, and Qian Ye appeared in front of Nan Gong Xiaoyue in a single step!

“You—”

Nan Gong Xiaoyue was terrified. He saw Qian Ye’s original force dim, clearly suppressed by the domain. Yet, without using any secret techniques, Qian Ye had forcefully broken free, an act that defied belief.

Nan Gong Xiaoyue, without time to think, roared and formed a blade with his hand, shining brilliantly in the air, forming a giant crescent moon, slashing at Qian Ye. But Qian Ye seemed to turn into a phantom breeze, instantly passing by Nan Gong Xiaoyue and appearing tens of meters behind him.

Qian Ye slowly turned, blood dripping from his fingertips. In an instant, the blood on his fingers vanished, leaving them pristine white.

Nan Gong Xiaoyue stood motionless, slowly lowering his head, disbelievingly looking at the five blood holes in his chest, his armor, which could withstand Level 4 original force guns, pierced through.

The Original Force Suppression shattered. In that moment, Nan Gong Xiaoyue finally realized he hadn’t misjudged. Qian Ye was indeed not yet a War General, and his original force was clearly suppressed, but with sheer brute strength, he could break through the domain and pierce his heart.

Qian Ye flicked his finger, sending the last drop of blood falling. The landing field was deathly silent, the soldiers standing like statues, whether in fear or waiting for Nan Gong Xiaoyue’s fate.

At that moment, a mountainous pressure enveloped the entire airship landing field, and a voice, old but tinged with thunder, echoed, “Who dares to cause chaos here?”

An elderly man in a green robe and high hat emerged from the darkness. Though his figure was small, he immediately dominated the entire scene.

At this moment, a fierce wind swirled around Qian Ye, and the pressure was like a mountain, as if the whole world was alive, pressing down on him from all sides. Qian Ye’s legs trembled slightly, and his joints cracked. His shoulders and back felt as if they bore a heavy burden, pushing him to his knees, and even to the ground.

The aura alone could suppress Qian Ye to this extent. It was clear that the one who arrived was the second elder of the Nan Gong family, Nan Gong Yuanwang.
