Chapter 10: No Need to Wait

In Qian Ye’s perception, there was a peculiar space within his abdomen where primordial force faintly surged, like a young butterfly yearning to break free from its cocoon. However, this space was encased by an invisible barrier that needed to be broken in order for the node to ignite and for the primordial force inside and outside the body to merge and flow freely.

The methods of breaking the barrier differed among various cultivation techniques. Most were more gentle, slowly grinding down the barrier until it became thinner and eventually dissipated, merging the inside and outside forces seamlessly.

Other techniques were more fierce and violent, guiding the inner and outer tides to repeatedly collide with the barrier. For instance, the Bing Fa Jue followed this approach, driving the primordial force tides with such overwhelming might that it rivaled the first-class cultivation methods. Yet, in the process of assaulting the barrier, it would also injure the internal organs.

Qian Ye could already swiftly activate a complete primordial force tide, and today, his goal was to attempt breaking through the node’s barrier.

With great caution, he guided the surging primordial force towards the abdominal node. Wave after wave of primordial force gradually aligned and crashed against the node’s barrier.

The node barrier acted like a high embankment, firmly blocking the primordial force waves from entering.

Qian Ye gradually immersed himself, even the unique fragrance of “Zhu Yan Xue” vanishing from his sensory world. He seemed to merge with the primordial force waves, rising high and crashing fiercely against the barrier, then shattering into droplets of primordial force.

But the next wave was even higher and more powerful. Each round of impact caused the primordial force’s counter-shock to make Qian Ye’s body tremble slightly.

During the internal primordial force tide’s assault on the node, the resonating primordial force from the outside continuously replenished Qian Ye’s expenditure. In this way, his primordial force gradually increased.

After countless monotonous cycles, suddenly, after a round of primordial force tide assault, the surging force did not completely subside. Instead, after a brief lull, a new wave rose!

Qian Ye was both surprised and delighted. He quickly focused and guided this new wave toward the node’s barrier. As the wave hit the barrier, a buzzing sound filled Qian Ye’s ears, all the while his body involuntarily shook, almost leaping off the ground.

This was the first wave of the second round of primordial force tides, augmented by the remaining power of the first round. The impact was now equivalent to the fourth or fifth wave of the initial tides.

This was a successful start. As Qian Ye accumulated more primordial force, the second round of tides would form, followed by the third and fourth. The more continuous tides generated, the stronger their combined power, and the greater the impact on the primordial force barrier.

It was said that when the third round of primordial force tides formed, it was time to break open the abdominal node.

At that moment, a bell rang, and Qian Ye, as usual, tidied himself up and quickly left the cultivation room. He had made breakthrough progress in his practice, and among the children who practiced together, several were visibly happy.

However, Qian Ye felt no joy. His progress was relatively fast, placing him in the top third of the class. Now, half a year had passed since the start of the Bing Fa Jue course, and it was rumored that some children in other classes had already ignited their first primordial force node.

The children lined up in the valley, and Chen Lei somehow stood beside Qian Ye.

As everyone ran to the training field under the instructor’s lead, Chen Lei leaned closer and whispered, “I’ve started cultivating the third round of primordial force tides. When I ignite my primordial force node, you’d better watch out!”

Qian Ye kept his eyes straight ahead, acting as if he heard nothing.

Next came a combat lesson and a biology structure lesson.

In the combat class, Qian Ye’s opponent was a regular child, with neither grudge nor friendship between them. The result was a tie, and then it was time for the biology structure lesson.

This time, the instructor was a bald, lean old man with a strange face and cloudy gray eyes. A single glance from him made Qian Ye feel as if he had been seen through, causing a shiver to run down his spine.

The old man’s eyes had initially passed over Qian Ye, but now, his eyelids twitched, and he took another look at Qian Ye.

Each student had a lab table in front of them, covered with a long, white cloth.

The old man cleared his throat, his voice raspy like a crow’s, “Little brats! From today, I will turn you into real devils! As for my name, I don’t think any of you will want to remember it. But in the next six months, this name will accompany you for a long, long time. My name is Shen—Tu!”

Then Shen Tu laid out his class rules. It was simple: complete the task within the specified time, and… no vomiting.

“Alright! Now, lift the white cloth in front of you, and pick up the object!” Shen Tu held up a thin hook-like instrument.

Qian Ye stepped forward and lifted the white cloth, only to be shocked!

Under the white cloth lay a cold, preserved corpse! The face was familiar; Qian Ye remembered, this was one of the children who had entered the camp with him!

The corpse was clearly well-preserved, remaining intact without any signs of decay even after nearly a year.

On the corner of the lab table, there was a tray with dozens of differently shaped tools. The hook Shen Tu held was one of them.

On the high podium, there was another corpse. Shen Tu inserted the hook into the chest, lifted it, and then used a sharp knife to slice a thin layer of skin.

Facing the familiar face, Qian Ye’s heart was in turmoil, unable to bring himself to make the cut. Most of the children were similarly hesitant and lost. A few, however, started to work, some with cruel smirks.

A guard suddenly began counting down loudly from ten.

All the children were startled, recognizing the familiar human countdown. Knowing that anyone who didn’t start by the end of the count would be punished, and Shen Tu’s punishment might be even harsher than Zhang Jing’s!

Including Qian Ye, all the children hurriedly picked up their tools and began dissecting the corpse according to Shen Tu’s instructions.

Just as Qian Ye finished the required steps, he heard a sudden cry, and a girl started to weep, crouching and vomiting uncontrollably.

Shen Tu stopped his actions and quietly watched the vomiting girl. The entire classroom was silent, watching her.

When the girl finished, Shen Tu gently said, “Take her down and clean her up.”

Two fierce guards carried the girl away, ignoring her cries and struggles.

The class continued, and the children silently learned from Shen Tu.

Only the old man’s raspy voice echoed in the classroom.

A week later, Shen Tu appeared again. This class was still about dissection, and he planned to cover the key and weak points of human anatomy in three sessions.

When Qian Ye lifted the white cloth, he took a step back. On the table in front of him lay the girl’s corpse!

Qian Ye immediately understood what Shen Tu meant by “cleaning up.” At that moment, he felt Shen Tu’s gaze fixated on him.

Without looking up, Qian Ye steadily picked up the forceps and thin blade, starting the required steps.

This class, Qian Ye didn’t know how it ended. That day, he didn’t know how it passed, and suddenly, it was night, and he was in bed.

The dormitory was filled with soft snores, and most of the children were asleep, but Qian Ye couldn’t sleep.

The Yellow Springs Training Camp was indeed hell, and Qian Ye didn’t know how much longer he could endure. However, he knew that if he could hold on, some things in him would eventually change.

Qian Ye hadn’t thought about the hazy figure from his early memories for a long time. He thought he had forgotten, but now it resurfaced. He sensed that some things he clung to would eventually be lost.

The second face that came to mind was Shi Yan Mu, with a forced smile, and the voice in his ear saying, “Come back alive.” Qian Ye was dazed; the voice wasn’t Shi Yan Mu’s but that person’s.

Qian Ye closed his eyes, reopening them with newfound clarity. Someone was waiting for him, and someone had given him a promise. He now understood the significance of the surname “Lin.” All of it would only come true after he escaped this hell.

In this hell, opportunities were rare, and if not seized, they would be lost. There was no room for waiting.

Qian Ye suddenly leaped from his bed, landing silently, and used stealth techniques learned in combat class to reach Chen Lei’s bed. No one seemed to notice.

Chen Lei was sleeping restlessly, his face showing unease, as if in a bad dream.

Qian Ye reached out slowly and firmly, aiming for Chen Lei’s throat.

At that moment, a child on the neighboring bed suddenly turned, opened his eyes, and saw Qian Ye’s action.

Qian Ye met his gaze, and the child shivered, turning back to sleep, pretending he saw nothing.

Qian Ye’s left hand moved decisively, gripping Chen Lei’s throat, while his right hand delivered a powerful punch to his side!

A muffled thud echoed through the dormitory, waking most of the children. Many instinctively jumped out of bed.

The thudding continued.

Chen Lei’s eyes bulged, his face turning purplish-black, tongue protruding. He struggled, clawing and scratching, some hitting the air, some hitting Qian Ye’s arm.

But Qian Ye’s hand was like iron, unmoving, seemingly impervious to pain. His right hand relentlessly pounded Chen Lei’s abdomen and side.

This scene was similar to when Chen Lei had ordered others to beat Qian Ye, but the reactions were different. Chen Lei was clearly panicking, his counterattacks chaotic, a mere flail of desperation.

The strongest in the class watched Chen Lei and silently shook their heads, no longer considering him a threat.

However, they looked at Qian Ye with a wary respect.

Qian Ye continued to pummel Chen Lei, his breathing barely changed, his expression unchanged, as if performing a trivial task. The thuds echoed in every child’s heart.

Finally, Chen Lei stopped moving, only his body twitching involuntarily.

Qian Ye stopped, returned to his bed, and pulled the blanket over his head, as if nothing had happened.

Moments later, Chen Lei suddenly jumped from his bed, staggering to the window, screaming, “Instructor! Instructor! Someone is trying to kill me, help me!”
